Fallout 4 has gone gold; leaked gameplay vids

Since this looks to be the OT until the OT comes up, i might as well ask my question here!

Guys, i have both, PS4 and XOne, at home and both, a PS4 Pip-Boy and a XOne Pip-Boy, preordered on the french Amazon site.
But since i'm neither rich nor a scalper and too lazy to put out the effort for putting it on ebay, i want to go on and cancel one of those orders.

I just don't know which one. PR talk promised technical parity at the announcement at E³ (i know, i know, they talk much...), i already have Fallout 3 on X360, so the BC version of that is not really interesting for me.
Normally, i get my multiplatform games on PS4, with the XOne mainly for exclusives, but with Bethesda and the backstory with their games on the last-gen consoles plus the news about Bethesda already tinkering with XOne with that Skyrim port/test, i get some doubts about this.

So, any thoughts about this? Any evidence that the Bethesda curse on PS-systems continues and i would be better off with the XOne version?
Also, my PC won't run Fallout as good as my consoles, if at all, so PC is out of the question. ;)

And, please don't let my question be the start for some console-wars bullshit!

Do we know how many employees worked on Fallout 4? (source please) I'm curious. Skyrim had about 90-100 apparently, not that much compared to your average AAA game I think.

They've openly said they have made exactly 8 hires since Skyrim. They also had one guy die of cancer.

So net gain of 7 people. Arguably they should really expand and gear up for a new engine for TES 6, CDPR is 200+ or something and it shows.

But from a cold hearted business perspective, why do you need to invest that much more in a team that can rip out a game that moves 30 million copies. Jerry Bruckheimer and the rest of the Zenimax board are probably thinking to themselves "do you improve on 30 million copies???" and are reinvesting the Bethesda Game Studios profits into the other divisions, like ESO and Doom.

They're probably only doing a moderate increase in the production budget from Skyrim to Fallout, and that'll be more so in sideshows like marketing/audio than in core personnel like level designers, under the logic that "the franchise is big enough and good enough, we don't need to go any deeper we've sold copies to every man woman and beast who would realistically want to play our game."

I think it was in Game Informer article, Making Of FO4 or something like that, that came out this week Todd mentioned his team growing by maybe 8 people since Skyrim.

At E3 on stage (archived on YouTube) Todd said around 100 people worked on Fallout 4, most had been there for a long time.

Gaf I just got myself a new laptop with a i7 6th gen cpu, a 970 gtx (6gb) and 16 GB DDR4 RAM. Will I be able to run Fallout 4 in high settings running at 60 fps?

I really need to play this on PC because of the mod community.

Thanks! I think it's this.

It's time for my daily enquiry into if anyone in the UK using simplygames has had their order despatched yet?!

Still holding out a desperate hope for a Saturday arrival...

I couldn't order through simply as I was too late, but what I would recommend is checking your simply games account.

Reason being, I ordered Halo 5 through simply, got to late afternoon on the Friday and still had no email from them. Checked my simply account on the website and the game had in fact been shipped, I just didn't receive the despatch email until about 18:00 that night.

How long does it take to reach the "open world" part?

Didn't like the linear tutorial at the beginning in Fallout 3 or Skyrim.

Doesn't take too long. Maybe 45 mins or so. It doesn't feel like as much of a grind but it is definitely a linear tutorial like skyrim's and fallout 3.

I can understand Fallout, but in Skyrim you could be on your own way in the open world in less than 15-20 minutes?

But yes, Fallout 3's introduction was longer and tedious.

So is it confirmed that if you get the pipboy edition, you need to dl a massive patch to play the game?

I'm not aware that the edition matters - if you get the physical PC version, either PipBoy or regular boxed version, it's on DVD so you have to download whatever is not on the disc (multiple GB worth). If you get the physical PS4/X1 version, you just need to download the ~500mb day 1 patch.

GMG is sending out keys! They posted this 1h ago;

Fallout 4 Update: It's the news you've all been waiting for. Keys are being loaded up and sent out from now. Please be aware this may take a few hours simply due to the thousands upon thousand of orders we've received for this title, so don't worry if you don't get your key immediately, it will come!

Preload begins today from 9PM UTC so there's plenty of time to get Fallout 4 installed ready for the game's launch on November 10th.

Weird got my Key for the Season Pass but not for the game yet, guess I'll get it in a few hours. As long as I get it by Sunday I'll be fine. I want to have it preloaded and ready to go by Monday morning to VPN AU to unlock.

I want to pull the trigger on the digital bundle but... there's no discount on the pass and no additional pre-order dlc. What's the point of that offer? Is the pass going to be 40 dollars in the end?

Nope still preparing. Been preparing for at least 26 hours now. I guess it's going to be the best prepared package ever!

If I don't have tracking by Monday AM I am just going to cancel my Gold Edition and pick it up in the store. I have to go in to pick up the guide anyways.

Just to buy it all in one package that's it.

Technically Best Buy has a discount.

Why wouldn't they use multiple discs? Wolfenstein by bethesda on last gen console dvds came on a bunch of discs.

I don't believe they are selling physical copies of a game that is unplayable out of the box without a massive update

$71 for FO4, Season Pass and Socks via BB GCU.

"Status: Preparing your item for shipping"

Nope. They've never sent anything early for me, though.

Alright. It seems I'm in the same boat as everyone else. I'm not expecting to get it early, but I want it to show up next Tuesday. I used to just head to the store and grab my games, but can't anymore due to a new job. So, this is the first time I've ever really ordered anything online hoping it showed up on release day.
