Halo 5: Guardians |OT| The Trials of Osiris

Little things like this would really streamline the game and make it more enjoyable experience.

I understand their is a lot they have to do with the aim acceleration problems and adding more content so this will probably never be touched. :(

Yes both of those issues are way more important to me than this, but it would be nice.

1) Add drop-in and drop-out to make it so if your teammates quit, there is a great chance that a random person will drop into the game to help you.

2) Make it so people who drop into a losing match will never be penalized with a loss.

Done. I just made all multiplayer games perfect. Give me $200,000 per year and the title of game designer.

Forget the idea of combating quitting. Make it so quitting has a negligible effect on the good population of a multiplayer community.

Joining a game in progress is not fun and definitely not competitive. Quitters should be penalized, and they should all be put in a room together to see what it's like to deal with their own petulance.

Penalize quitters with a 30 minute cooldown straight away.
Increase the penalty by a lot if a person quits a lot in a short amount of time.
Allow people to rejoin matches within 3 minutes of quitting/disconnecting.
Allow people who are a man down to either surrender or quit without penalty.

Join-in-progress like in Halo 4 doesn't fit in matchmaking with ranks.

This one sounds pretty good.

I wondering what the data shows as far as quitting. I would like to know the percentage of quitters per rank including those in placement games. I wonder how quitting impacts your initial rank. For instance if you quit out of all you matches do you still get a rank? Does a match you quit out of even count? Or do you have to complete 10 full games.

So Spin Cycle is a pretty fuckin' sweet assassination animation...

Probably my favorite in the game aside from Lawn Dart, but that one is Legendary so I don't expect to unlock it any time soon.

Look at how late his shield popped, if you died after that neck stab he would have got up and continued running.

Each quit should be an instant reduction in rank, quit in placement match? Instant bronze ranking for the season.

Or better yet, make a quitter rank where they can only play other quitters

Yeah, that does help to put off people that are shooting you, but Im worried more about the risk, been in the air for a split second makes you a siting duck.

Yeah you just have to be smart. If there's an enemy sniper, don't do it. If a guy is 1 shot and you need just an extra .5 secs to take him out then it's perfect. It's all situational, some people don't like it, I had it off for a while then I watched snip3down use it...and wow..that's what made me turn it back on.

blowing your rank was a thing in halo 2. lose a bunch or quit a bunch to lower your rank and then stomp on kids. it wasnt fun.

current system seems to, at least a little, discourage that

someone help me out here: youre actually matched by an unseen mmr arent you? so sure you have your division, but theres a rank you arent seeing moving up and down with much more fluidity?

Man, Arena has been dreadful for me for a string of matches. Just getting shot through walls and feels like I always have half of my heath.
Am surprised there is no progression system in this game at all when it was one of the best parts about Reach. The Credit system was addictive and rewarding; anything you did gave you cR and that let you buy a slew of things, from armor and attachments to dumb stuff like effects and firefight voices. There were also the daily and weekly challenges which - while not without their own problems like forcing specific playstyles - gave players a reason to go through diferent aspects of the game each day. I looked forward to Firefight Thursdays, and I know many people who ran full parties just to chase after Inheritor. And that lasted over 2 years

Halo 4's "SR" system barely lasted a few months and now they've done away with it entirely. So now there's little incentive to go through the Campaign again, and with the way the lobbies are laid out currently, not much reason to play Arena for a skill rank either. Warzone is the only mode with a tangible payoff by way of using and unlocking REQs, but I find the progression tied to that is way less satisfying than what we had before.

For all the efforts to modernize Halo, they didn't make much progress in their investment systems.
Yeah, there is no cohesiveness in Halo 5 between modes. All individual parts are strong, but they don't string them together to complement each other.

I'm missing something, I cannot hijack enemy vehicles. Several times I've been right next to a vehicle and have not been able to board. Is it only available at specific locations on the vehicle?

I feel like it misses some key points that make no respawn gametypes in other games work so well:

-Halo's shooting mechanics and shooting skill-gap inherently prevent 1v2/3/4 clutches from happening unless you're playing SWAT (and even then the trade-kill window is so big that it can be difficult.) It can still happen, of course, but only if the team with the upper-hand makes huge mistakes.

*or they suck.

If they remade the H2 ranking system, most people wouldn't get past 25. I'd love to see it done where there are no cheaters.

It's pretty specific in my experience. I feel like I've unintentionally meleed more vehicles than I've actually hijacked.

I'm messing about with the southpaw / stick swap trick to see if aiming feels better, in testing in a custom game i'm not really feeling a difference, I have the new 3.5mm jack controller.

It still feels like I overaim and the huge speed boost when you move the stick too far still kicks in, but i'll try rocking with the southpaw swap for tonight and see if it feels better in combat or not.

The problem now is that some people are getting placed in a higher tier than they really should be but can't de-tier. I have a couple of friends that got carried through placement and now they are boned if they play alone.
