he wasn't near the plate so I doubt it, I guess splash damage wasn't high enough to remove it.

A couple of days ago I was playing in a Euro Sever (I am on East Coast U.S.). Before the match started I could hear someone speaking French. Right as the match started and I got into my first enemy encounter I could tell something was off. The lag got progressively worst as the match went on. I started experiencing Grenade delays, Hit Registration delays, and Weapon Pickup delays. I also started teleporting a couple of times in that match.
Granted, it most likely isn't anywhere near what other regions are probably putting up with currently. But it does happen in the U.S. as well, though much more of a rarity to be put in an Out-of-Region server.
Halo is telling you to be more cultured.

Ofcourse it happens to you guys as well. I had the pleasure of watching two Americans on my team in slayer get reamed on a euro server. They couldn't understand why they was unable to kill people, or how they were getting 3 br shotted.
But, it is no where near frequent like it is for everyone else though. Such a shame.

Yeah, I live in the midwest and I had a couple of matches playing with some people speaking French. I'd like to assume it's Canada, but I'm not sure if it was.

about 6 of my 10 matches this evening in slayer have been on pegasus, the rest mostly on plaza.

Like I said, the player mentality being different is entirely on you, the player. I completely understand where you guys are coming from, believe me. I'm not some wicked player. In fact, I probably played Warzone first to get good at the game before jumping into Arena. But that added pressure is what we should all want for Arena. It's what builds the competitive mentality even further, it's what will help catapult Halo beyond the Battlefront, CoD, Destiny games as the premier eSports and competitve shooter on consoles. The line in the sand has be to drawn now. Warzone is our casual/social mode, Arena is ranked and will stay ranked.
I think because it's still second week of launch, it's taking time to get used to it. But within the month, most will come to understand this is the way it is. Either you'll continue with it, because you don't want to miss out playing team snipers, team doubles, grifball or you'll leave Halo behind and move to another shooter.
It's not a bad thing if you want to screw around, or that you got silver and not diamond.
Edit: Maybe I'll be wrong and 343 would rather bring social back. I just think having social variants of the ranked arena playlists would just kill the investment they've done.

How long does it generally take for games to reach OT2? Less than 2 weeks seems fast...but I admit I don't generally pay attention to those types of things.
Depends. Destiny does new OT's every week or two.

Team Arena - platinum 1
Team Slayer - platinum 1
Breakout - silver 1
SWAT - diamond 1
I haven't done FFA yet.

The destiny OT might be the most popular current thread, and has been since launch lol.
I did really well in SWAT and placed champion pre-release then dropped to Onyx where I think I probably belong.
I did okay in Breakout and got placed Diamond, I think I'm Platinum at best. I do average to bad in most games now.
I did quite well in Slayer, placed Diamond, I'm maybe belonging.
Did terrible in FFA, yet consistantly placed against Onyx/Champ players. I came 3rd a couple of times but my KDA during placement was poor. Placed Onyx
Did well in Team Arena and placed Diamond there but I mainly play solo so I'm probably more Platinum there too. Although I guess playing with a team I can keep up.

I just looked at the Community section to see number of OTs for various games.
I think it's interesting that the Halo 5 OT is almost on its second OT after ~2 weeks, and COD AW still is only on its first OT from last November. Halo is surely dead!
Destiny does seem to be a beast in community discussion, also. Must be a Bungie thing in the types of gamers they attract to their franchises.
So I've been buying 7-8 silver packs, then saving up to buy a gold pack. Seems to be working out well, I unlock things constantly with the silver ones, then the gold pack has that 'OMG what's it going to be?' factor for it. Haven't 'wasted' a gold pack unlock on a common/uncommon yet

Man, I decided to move the Xbox to the main TV in the living room for a bit when I was home alone and shoot some shit in Halo 5. I'm so not used to sitting that far from my screen, I usually play on a computer monitor. Was fun, though, game looks a lot better that way even. I'm just too busy thinking about Fallout 4 to focus on playing Halo, so I called it quits after a level. :lol

Interesting, so I just finished my 'third' ever game of Slayer. Went for a wee and found I had been banned. In my second game of Slayer ever, I discovered that you can damage your team, which I did with a timely caster grenade thing, so well two of my team died and the enemy. For which I was kicked.
Then the game crashed and I'm not banned any longer. Either that or my ban was for 1 min 20 seconds.

Golds don't contain commons so that's partially why. That's a decent plan, though. Golds are fun as hell to open.

Beside seeing the first big next gen game I have to assume that OT is so large because destiny doesn't have matchmaking for very important things like firefights and raids so the OT is the perfect place to organize those things

You may have gotten banned or kicked from the game. If you throw a grenade and kill a teammate, that teammate will get a message asking should you be kicked. I have gotten that pop up before and usually will let the guy slide if it was an obvious mistake in the heat of battle.
Yep. Using OTs to gauge popularity of a game even on GAF is generally a poor idea.
