Fallout 4 has gone gold; leaked gameplay vids

They had a party last night, lots of people were there. Press and industry folk alike. The KindaFunny guys in addition to a number of other streamers have been given the same permission to stream.

And no, they're related at all.

Would you happen to know which streamers have gotten permission on early streams? Renee is only one who has openly said she got go-ahead, afaik.

Wouldn't you get banned though?

Only if you buy. A lot of people would VPN to russian ips and buy for cheap but steam shut this down and bans anyone for buying a game on a vpn. You can unlock a game though with no repercussion.

Has anyone elses PC pipboy NOT shipped from amazon?

Man Fallout 4 pre-release period is totally opposite of the Witcher 3 pre-release period. Bethesda is locked everything down until day before and CDPR allowed hours and hours of gameplay weeks before. It is interesting to see how big developers/publishers have different approaches.

Hrmm yeah. From watching more, this is looking to be even worse than Fallout 3 in terms of quests and dialog options. A shame, since New Vegas was a step above 3.

I think I'll be passing on 4. Thank goodness for streams and leaked vids.

One could argue that CDPR had a lot more to prove to gamers than Bethesda has. Bethesda is in position where they don't need tell and/or show much, and game still flies off the shelves into gamers pockets.

Bethesda is owned by people that sound REALLY shady. Especially if they want to buy you on the cheap, apparently. Doesn't surprise me they keep as much secret as possible.

Too bad "Elder Scrolls" formula games are so fun.

Nah I don't think that it is it. It is simple marketing move probably in combination with making sure that there are not spoilers out there (well they failed this one).

Yeah there is that too. W3 was first CDPR on consoles (well not really W2 was on X360 but not that popular). But it is sad so many people will buy game based on trust after few bad launches in last year. Oh well we will see what will happen on release day.

So people that ordered from ShopTo, was your copy dispatched today?
I was hoping to get lucky like with Metal Gear :(

You may have missed the revelation earlier in the day, many of the online retailers in the UK aren't receiving their stock from Bethesda till Monday. Presumably to try and prevent the street date being broken in the spectacular way it was for Phantom Pain.

It sucks, but most retailers are still claiming they will get it too you by the Tuesday. To be safe I switched my pre-order to PSN.

Not true although I've had no email my order on the site has the picture of the package

LOL stream country streaming site got shut down by the FBI.

the file is called rip.jpg. I really really doubt that they would put that as the file name + let the chat, steam group etc be accessible. Most of the times when seizures happen the site is completely taken down, no other links whatsoever.

The pasting job for "streamcountry.com" looks like it was done in paint also.

Starting to remind me of the release of 1886.

I'm not saying F4 will be as bad as 1886. But I can see the similarities, if you are telling a good story you aren't afraid of people seeing it on a steam, because seeing it will only make more people want to experience for themselves. But if your entire story is dependent on some "twist" and "surprise", you do what these guys are doing. The funny thing is, most of the time people so afraid of their twist getting revealed writes utterly predictable trash and everyone sees their "twist" coming a mile away anyway.

So knowing nothing about the plot of FO, I predict based on Bethesda's behavior that their story is going to feature some kind of gotcha twist that they think will shock and surprise the player but most players will go "meh, sawing that coming".

This is ridiculous. Everything seems to also release on a Tuesday. I don't remember a AAA game releasing like say... on a Friday.

I am not off at all this week. YOU HEAR THAT BETHESDA?! I AM A RESPONSIBLE ADULT AND WILL NOT CALL IN SICK.

:(

And I predict you'll be right but the game will be super fun anyways. Doesn't help that it's the same writer/s that did Fallout 3 (that does not give me faith).

Cause honestly, I don't think story was the big reason most people who liked Fallout 3 enjoyed Fallout 3. Bethesda never does good story, it's more just a decent base as an excuse to play the game. It's the exploration and stories the world tells you that is the best part. I'm not saying a good story wouldn't make the game better (that's one of the many reasons I think New Vegas is better than 3). But mediocre story is still passable in Bethesda's games cause it's the other stuff that really make the game shine (it's just a shame they don't do good story).

I think it's probably just as much that the game is about exploration. No point exploring if you've seen all the locations already. The main story is usually pretty garbage in Bethesda games. The side quests on the other had...

So I've already played the PS4 Version a couple of hours + latest Patch:
Absolutely fantastic so far. I was a little Bit worried about the graphics but Damn, the IQ is clean - it looks like a very good AA solution was implemented. Not a Lot aliasing or shimmering going on. Framerate dropped randomly in the twenties during a powersuit fight with a raider who came too close to my minigun. Looks like a small anomaly or engine issue, as the frames didn't dip with several enemies on screen.
So far I have encountered very minor Bugs like duplicate items in my inventory: some guns have german names (my version) while the same 10 mm pistol doesn't stack because it has an english name.
It's a very polished experience so far. Easily the most polished Bethesda Rpg release so far.

Stranegly I don't get referred with my chosen ingame name. Even the most common names don't work at the moment.

reminds me of GTAV preload xD

Stream somewhere? + Lol at the fake "FBI" hack on the last stream xD.

So poorly done xD ( photoshop + godfather style music ). Some people are sad troll as hell.

I'll trust in this for now.

I dunno man. They have been using this kind of media grip / embargo style of release marketing since Oblivion. There's actually more leaks and streams of Fallout 4 than there were for Skyrim at this point from release from what I recall. The only real difference is that they pushed the announcement and reveal of Fallout 4 closer to release date than their past games.

I think they just believe this style of media lead-in is part of their launch and overall success. Maybe they're correct in that. It's hard to criticize their strategy from a business perspective when their growth from Oblivion -> Fallout 3 -> Skyrim was so profound. I think there is merit to the idea of a studio holding as much to their chest as possible even if their product is amazing. You want the peak of discussion socially and media attention to occur as close to the moment the game is available for purchase as possible.

Yeah I have the package photo but its still processing. Hopefully should arrive by Tuesday at least.

Trying to torrent the preload so I can actually have a chance to play it come midnight Monday, going so damn slow. I wish us physical buyers of the PC version could get some code from retailer to start the download.

I'm going to trust you. Please be telling the truth.

That one stream on XB1 is up again. It'll probably go down again soon, who knows. Quote.

edit: it's been going up and down over the past few minutes. I think he's tinkering with his stuff.

do we even have a list of what names are in here?

I tend to create an albino character named Alphonse Bino in every game that allows character customization, but I feel Alphonse might be too exotic lol.

I already planned to call my woman character Riley, and I saw it was on the list!

Is it confirmed, btw, that only the butler uses your name and no one else?
