The Frame Rate of Fallout 4 in Interiors is horrible [PS4]

You said the sniping video was "game breaking." There is nothing in that video that is "game breaking." Again, if it were game breaking, he wouldn't be able to proceed. Clearly that isn't the case.

Frustrating. Gameplay spoiling. Sure. Breaking. Nope. Don't need to hyperbolize when a rational response works just as well.
Dude, what the hell is with overanalyzing and nitpicking my responses?

You said that game breaking videos would not be feasible which is clearly hyperbole since there are hundreds of game breaking bugs/scenarios that can perfectly be captured by video. This is the part where I start using single words separated by periods? Blah. Blah. Detail nitpicking ad nauseum. It's just not worth it.

Also, it comes off as a deflection technique to something that I already acknowledged in the post you quoted.

I would immediately stop playing the game and would sell/refund it.

Simple as that.

I just....I just wanted a smooth 30FPS.

That's it.

That should really be the lower boundary for games on consoles. One might accept if games released during the launch period had issues because the developers where not yet familiar with what they can pull off on these consoles. But going forward, there is really no reason to design a game such that it can't even hit 30fps. I mean, at some point we should be warranted to expect some "progress" towards the minimum standard for good playability that is smooth 30fps.

I learnt a lot watching that video. Especially how the limited eSRAM is still enough for a 1080p frame buffer. The sad truth is that the PS4 is just that much more powerful and the gap will be increasingly noticable as the generation goes on.

Well jeez, the way he's putting it it's hard to imagine how anyone would have a tough time getting a locked 30.

Obviously that's not the case though...

It will definitely be quite a sight in another 4 years or so when developers seriously get familiar with these things... Last of Us and Gears of War 3/Halo 4 are both prime examples on their respective 7th gen'ers.

How do we even know if the video of the scope is even Fallout 4?? The player could be playing Fallout 3 with a mod for all we know. Is he a veteran?

Does he even play games?

The issues do not look like GPU related. It's the Bethesda engine code that is single thread performance constricted due to lots of decision trees, etc. So you might have 10% shorter pauses on X1. If there are any GPU related slowdown issues, they will be probaby worse on X1 though.
Skyrim PS3 issues were due to PS3's lack of memory and streaming assets from HDD. An SSD alleviated most of the 0 fps problems in the PS3 Skyrim.

Weird.

Even Morrowind on Xbox jumped up 10-15 fps in the interiors. It was almost something I expected. Like "stutter stutter stutter" "open door" "30fps locked".

I don't know where you got this idea that I'm saying preordering is the problem and broken games aren't the problem. I also don't know what magical preorder land you live in that lets you save a ton of money by preordering and then get any significant amount of your money back by trading it in.

If you are still buying physical console games and you aren't a Best Buy Gamer's Club member, you're literally doing it wrong.

Bethesda's major RPGs of recent years have always been technical messes. Add in average floaty gameplay. Seem to always get a pass however.

Love this.

Many of the drops are caused by alpha effects in the videos posted here.

Apparently they sent review copies of the PS4 version (They have a marketing deal with MS no ?) So why not review the game with XB1 version ? (IMHO = Performing worse...)

I'm pretty sure the press review kits had all three versions included, I'm not positive though.

You send the best looking/performing one for review. Regardless of marketing deals.

PC is mostly out of the choices tho. Unless its a press kit.

Probably the most logical conclusion as of yet. Although PS4/Xbone could be the same and people just chose to review the PS4 version.

Off topic a little. The comments in that vidme link are hilariously stupid, what's with the fake NeoGaf hate site? Guess they're the guys who didn't get their account approved.

Graphics and atmosphere are more alarming in these videos than a few frames hiccups.
A bit disappointing but still hyped. Pre loaded on PC.

Most likely, just bear in mind that they shipped Skyrim on Ps3, a machine with not enough RAM to be able to run the game properly.

I'm glad that Fallout doesn't interest me. If only I could stop caring about TES and be done with Bethesda's garbage programming forever.

They're the ones that got permabanned but keep coming back to the site.

Point is, i can forgive TW3 for having these problems because it's really huge and actually has no loading times for interiors.

But this one? That barely looks like a current gen game? It's really ridiculous how behind Bethesda is regarding tech.

That's ridiculous; you shouldn't forgive either.

Games should be 30fps minimum on current gen, especially if they aren't pushing boundaries graphically. This is pathetic.

I said I bought it on PC because of someone like yourself, the game was fucked up because of the developers. Had I bought it On PS3 like I planned too, I'd have been more let down and I would have had myself to blame giving me no qualm with your post. 360 got the best Skyrim experience until the many patches improved the PC version beyond that.

Played it when it came out with very few issues, just some fairly mild open world jank. Never had any problems. No one in my circle had any problems save for one guy trying to run it on a really bad PC.

I don't know about you or your rig or whatever but sorry man, it ran fine for a lot of people and that's why a lot of people say what they say. Not because they're assholes or out to get you or protecting Bethesda (I do not like Skyrim) but because it genuinely ran totally fine for us.

There are actually people in this thread handwaving the fact that a game with those looks runs sub-30fps on a PS4... I just...

But you know, there are those systems underneath...
I bet when framedrops happen, the NPCs are having a party on the other side of the map, with fireworks and shit.
