The Frame Rate of Fallout 4 in Interiors is horrible [PS4]

I like you. You are a glass half full kinda person huh?

I play modded Bethesda games. Kinda have to be. :-)

"What?! Why did I CTD at Whiterun again!!?"

Not that I care that much about the story, but if I end up liking it at least a little, I'd like to find out in game.

Besides, been a WHILE since I had a rickroll. Made me feel young again. Now I think I'll go watch the Catz remix on youtube. All your base base base...

Side quests are the best I've seen in any open world RPG. Each one also told a remarkable and unpredictable story. I'm convinced at this point almost all open world games have the same concepts when it comes to side quests. Kill this target, deliver this, escort that, find XYZ, etc.

And as for the gameplay, I played it on the hardest difficulty. It was challenging enough to make the combat funner (you had to be more cautious and use everything at your disposal). Obviously the combat is no where near Booodborne level, but for an open world game, it's far superior to the combat in Skyrim. And also Gwent is one of the best mini games ever.

Witcher 3 is definitely my favorite game of the year and arguably one of the greatest games of all time.

I played it on the default difficulty as the designers likely expected me to play it and I found it boring. Why does the fact that a game is open world mean it has to have poor combat mechanics? MGSV had excellent combat mechanics and that was open world. I think people use the excuse of 'open world' to justify gaping holes or problems in a game.

Like the excuse that Fallout 4 has low quality textures or an unstable frame rate because its world is so large. That doesn't explain the drop it frames while inside or the low quality textures while inside a small environment.

I guess I can make a boring game with poor visuals and a horribly paced story as long as I make it the size of 10 Skyrims then I can fall back on the excuse and say "well it's because its this big | | "

How is it sad? It is a collection of facts in support of an argument. I own a PS4 and an Xbox One and I will buy the game on whatever platform runs the game better, but if you're implying it's sad just because I'm saying something potentially positive about the Xbox One, that's the real tragedy.

Its more that the facts you've exhibited arn't evidence to suggest the game runs better or worse on either system, they're facts that show MS have a marketting deal, but we knew that. How you managed to jump from marketing deal to potential performance advantages is beyond me. Lol.

Bethesda has the reputation where I will wait on release before I consider purchase.

Yep. I have a backlog to work through. If FO4 is glitchy or janky, I can always just wait on it for a while. If users report that it's all a-okay, I'm probably in in a week or two. Either way, I'm happy.

Lol, this was me all weekend. There are some mods for Skyrim that I deem essential and just deal with the crashes as they come.

As I said, I would be shocked if Bethesda agreed to a heavy marketing push for the Xbox version of the game if they knew it would have problems beyond the ones in the OP. As I also said, it's not enough to form a definite conclusion. Why would they push the Xbox version if it was the absolute worst version of the game?

Damn it, I was hoping I could go for the PS4 version :(

With the problem still existing with the Day 0 patch, I don't have much confidence the issue will be resolved anytime soon, if at all.

Oh well, my PC is up for it according to recommended specs.

Pete Hines is a good guy and one of the main guys at the dev. But if anyone thinks someone like Pete is going to respond to a tweet and say "yeah, frame rate is pretty fucked up" you are nuts. Of course he is going to say everything is fine, even if they are not fine, he is not going to tell people in a tweet that the game has fps issues. I have not played the game, so don't know if it does or does not have issues. Perhaps it does have issues and Pete has not noticed it or is prone to noticing it like some of you. Regardless, a spokesperson is not going to say the game is a fps mess regardless if it is or isn't.

Mileages may vary.

I had fun with Witcher 3, and enjoyed its side quests. I thought GTA played like shit, and was completely uninteresting.

Everyone has different opinions, not some singular arguement of "well its open world, it should be expected"

Also, open world has become more and more present this gen, probably because those games give of an illusion of "more value for 60 dollars" than a relatively linear title.

I really will never understand the tremendous amount of complaints Witcher 3's combat gets. It's the weakest aspect of a masterpiece, but it's nowhere near as bad as people make it out to be. It's way better than Skyrim, GTA or even Fallout's combat, yet I enjoy all of these games.

Marketing has no relevance to performance...thats the point. Bethesda and MS win either way. Fallout gets marketed. MS get to show commercials for and associate themselves with a big name title. And if the xbox version IS running the worst, bethesda just send out PS4 versions for review (which is apparently what they're doing)

Ever since I ditched Climates of Tamriel and Enhanced Lighting (and embraced Unbleak ENB), I haven't CTD'd once. Just saying, and I have a hefty script load too.

Fallout 4 |OT| Synth: Chronicles of T-Pain

Fallout 4 |OT| I feel like a Numan

Fallout 4 |OT| Take a Bowie

Fallout 4 |OT| Do Synthoids dream of buggy sheep?

Fallout 4 |OT| A new order of seagulls can't get enough of the culture club.

Any word on the XBO version? Doesn't make sense if that one is fine (especially if reviewers are playing on PS4). Regardless last Bethesda game I bought on consoles was Oblivion, and I don't plan to be doing that again.

Can anyone who has the ps4 version tell me how loud their ps4 fan got??

Metal gear and gtav were pretty loud and they were open world games...dont really want to play with a constant hair dryer going.

We'll just have to wait and see, I guess. I must not be thinking enough like a sinister corporate businessman, if I was a game developer I couldn't in good conscience sign a deal to market the most flawed version of my product.

Looks like this game is having quite a bit of .... fall out.

Rickroll dude got banned ? Damn, mods ain't having none of it today.

Frankly, I'd say the opposite the way this thread has gone. But that's all I'm saying.

Took me awhile to find an ENB I like that didn't use it, but I think its worth it.

And now i'll stop getting off-top. Sorry about that.

OT:

Has DF said when they'll have a comparison out?

This is supposed to be horrible? It looked 'fine' for me. Sure it could be better but I wouldn't say that was horrible.

You and me both. had to watch it 2x to see the two dips. Both were pretty minor and something I probably wouldn't notice while playing. If it gets much worse maybe I would care, but from that video in the OP I think we have a mole hill we are trying to plant a flag on.
