Halo 5: Guardians |OT| The Trials of Osiris

I'm practicing the thrust, that is the one which gives me a single boost right? But I can't double-jump and such?

Yes.

You can do sort of weird things with the thrust combined with the ground pound though.

You can sprint, jump, trigger the "float" from the ground and pound, then thrust out of it, to reach higher than normal places, but this is more an advanced technique and I wouldn't trouble myself with it yet.

Anybody got warden legendary solo strategies? I'm failing hard.
Get close enough so he stops shooting and chases you with his sword. Power weapons to the face to stagger him, while staggered, run around behind and shoot the core with Scattershot.

Edit: Whoops. Added spoilers just in case.

Read from bottom to top.

He's right, everytime a final boss comes in, everyone in the game just tunnel visions on it. It's so easy to go around just killing people because they're not paying any attention. Hell, we had a match on Stormbreak where I just took my Banshee at the last second and flew it down the hall to block the sight lines of the other team and we won, lol.

Oh wow what a difference!

I played one more Arena - Slayer, and this time I got 8 kills, 8 assists and 13 deaths, only because I keep getting knocked out with a punch to the face.

This time, I followed my team mates, and I see that it's all about the armor, and I noticed the bar for my own armor, that I need it to recharge. It felt very satisfying killing those 8 guys and I kept planting bullets on their bodies and then try go for the head when the armor were down.

I like the game more now.

Lol "avoid getting selfish". There is a commendation linked to those medals and the game already blue balls me enough with the bullshit "Teammates eliminated ____".

On Stormbreak, you can't lock down the Banshee boss. It's open season for him. Wraith and Phaeton on Apex are open season as well, you can't effectively lock that area down. One bullet deciding the outcome is just not fun when these bosses are 150 points each.

killing 5 enemies around the boss somehow helps the team more than killing the boss for 150 points' worth of kills?

also this, how do you lock down the skies?

Really curious to see if stiffer penalties would actually help.

I would really like to think so. Most competitive games (League and CS:GO are the two that come to mind) offer escalating penalties ranging from harsher time restrictions to loss of rank. That combined with being able to re-join games, in addition to being unable to re-queue until the game you left finishes, should help a lot.

Getting a perfect medal is one of the best things 343 has added. Feels so damn good

Psh, his mistake is thinking like people act like a team.

Yeah, its hard though to act as a team when your team fucking sucks. You lose all your areas then a boss appears... at that point, no one knows what to fucking do. Do you go for the boss, do you try to get the zone back. Everyone is lost at that point.

Well now I'm torn and 343 have a bit of an issue on their hands. According to someone here, getting disconnected from a game can't be distinguished from a quitter, and there is a pattern of disconnections for certain people. Not sure if they've found any information about what's causing it, but it seems to be a weird combination of isp and hardware.

All I know is in some play sessions I get disconnected every 5 games or so, no other games do this for me. So basically I'm "quitting" every 5 games.

You've already gotten better than me. :P

Those 5 enemies you just killed are 5 less people shooting at the boss. Allowing your team to get the kill.

obviously you want less people shooting at the boss, but when someone can poke out from behind their Armory and laser the Warden in the last second or snipe the Banshee across the map, that logic falls apart.

The way I run it is that we've had a vehicle or two doing DPS and me along with a few others would spawn snipers to pick off the other team. Still too easy for them to steal it.

Pretty sure that it would be a good idea to make Lochagos a non-legendary boss. If you manage to pick up two splinter grenades from either the armory or the fortress, you can pretty much 100-0 him by yourself instantly.

The team that gets him, usually also manages to hold fortress and it generally spirals out of control from there.

I had a match in warzone earlier where my aiming was double the speed it usually is, I checked the options but it was still set to 4, I was unable to aim at anyone because my aim was everywhere like a drunk. After the match it fixed itself.

Only thing I can think of is that I died while hard aiming and the aim modifier was somehow stuck on my non scoped aim movements.

I miss shotty snipers :(

Woke up early and I saw the menu option was still there. I was so excited. Froze trying to find a game, backed out to the menus and no matchmaking was selectable. Had to quit and restart the game to even choose a playlist and then shotty snipers was gone :(
That was a really fun mode. I really want a social playlist with a bunch of shit like that all mixed together. I don't want to have to wait until it wins a weekend vote again. Also, fuck, the special modes should be available all week!

Still loving Arena. Still want more maps and playlists and a revised ranking system! But the actual gameplay balance feels pretty perfect to me, after tons and tons of matches I still can't really point to a really cheap weapon or anything like that, and i'm pretty impressed by that.

I don't really play Warzone so I don't really care, but I switched to "buying" silver/bronze REQ packs with my points rather than always waiting for gold, and I'm getting way more certifications.

We're leading in our last Warzone game 900 to 52-something. Suddenly, the opposing team steal all our bases and locks us down to our base. They kill Warden and win 1000 to 998.

I was fit to be tied.

I had this happen too. I thought i was going crazy. I turned it off and came back hours later and it was fine.

Yeah but it isn't in any way helpful in-game so that's not much use.

Hopped into SWAT since that's never too bad solo. Just went 16-2 woop woop.

You should get your Company to set up a list of all Company members. My Company has a forum post on Waypoint with all member gamertags set up with hyperlinks to the XBL profile page to easily add everyone. I've started following ~70 new people, and gotten followed in return, since starting my Company. Just a thought for you to suggest to your Company leadership. We always have people online playing, sometimes not a full 4 man, but always at least one to roll with.
