So how will I know if the character name I enter is speak-able?
Will I only find out hours later in the game, or can I enter a name and immediately find out?
Somebody else can post it I'm on mobile but there's a list on nukahub with all of the names he can say. I have an albino so I called my guy Alphonse White

I'm sure others have pointed this out, but I'm totally confused about how your inventory, workbenches, the workshop, and power armor all work together.

Man people are grumpy this morning. I hope it's because they are waiting for their game to arrive like me and not because the game is souring their mood.

Set the game on download last night. Come home from uni excited to play. Now have to download an additional 32 gigs. Well, guess I'm not playing today!

War.

War never changes.

Kinda feel like quitting and restarting as Hitler

Lol, what does applying even mean ? I have them stored on the bobblehead rack.

That if you wait to pick them up, you can max your stats out to 11 as long as you first hit 10 on that stat. So I would consider not picking up the luck bobblehead, for example, until I hit level 10.

It's true, but I heard 11 doesn't make much difference, so it might not be worth waiting.

I was considering this too. I mean you get maybe a slight boost in a stat like health. I'll probably pass then on the first playthrough but my completionist side of me might make me try and max out each stat another time.

From the 2 hours I played last night it seems great! But, I'm also a filthy Bethesda Glitch sympathizer.

WTF Amazon?!? I preordered this in August expecting release day delivery. It was shipped at 10am this morning and showing delivery estimate of tomorrow. I can't wait until tomorrow!!!

The really dumb thing is I could order it for same-day delivery right now.

Argh. I need this. So bad it hurts.

I'm grumpy because my job is getting in my way of playing a fricking awesome game that is sitting in my ps4 at home.

Amazon are actually terrible. Had a bad experience with Mass Effect 3, never using them again!

So to understand the perk/levelling system, if I start with 2 luck at the beginning and then put a level point to make it luck 3 I can get the level 3 bloody mess perk right? Or do I have to choose 3 from the vault for level 3 perks?

Little bit confused.

After playing some more there are definite frame rate issues on the ps4. Pretty significant in some fights that I don't really think you can go through this game as a straight fps. It doesn't kill it for me since I use VATS a lot, but a consistent 30fps, or even close at some points, is a joke.

I havent played yet but I assume you can choose one level of one perk. So you can choose level one of bloody mess with luck 3. There is probably a level requirement for level 2 and 3.

Apply your points to SPECIAL. Then, as you level up in game you can either pick a perk or raise your SPECIAL by a point. In your example, if you choose to put Luck to level 3 at the beginning, when you level up the Bloody Mess perk will be available to you. Each perk also has 4 levels. You will start with the level 1 Bloody Mess and as you gain more levels that perk unlocks new stuff within that perk I.E., now enemies might explode into showers of bottlecaps.

Yeah I thought as much. Read that perk levels were locked to the levels you chose at the beginning, even if you leveled up SPECIAL. That would have been weird though.

By the way, if you feel kind of bored of the radio and want a change, turn it off. The game has fantastic music outside of it as well, it has some really tense ambient music, very immersive/atmospheric.

I'm confused at the lack of the skill system.

In Fallout 3/NV, I could pop some mentats to temporarily increase my INT and thus lockpick skill and bump it over the next threshold to unlock an advanced door or whatever (pushing me from 73-75 lockpick)

Can I even do anything like this? If I raised my INT with mentats I'd still need to buy the perk for advanced locks...

Also, if a perk has a 6 INT requirement for example, if I'm 5INT and use a hat or mentats or something that temporarily increases my INT, can I buy that perk? Can I use it once I drop down past 6 again?

Ok. I need a mod to take player collision off of dogmeat. Holy shit is it annoying, so many combat deaths, jumping deaths and overall general annoyance with him CONSTANTLY being in the fucking way. Fighting indoors with him around is the absolute worst.

PS4 only receives certain bands, the wifi capabilities in it suck. It can't even connect to my media band, which is where all the speed is. It's slightly better directly hooked in but I still feel even that is way slower than it should be

I'm wired straight to my pfsense box :)

Ps4 is just wonky from a networking perspective.

ok, first time fallouter here.
what are the most important special skills?

what should i go for?

Depends what kind of combat you like. Each of the SPECIAL categories has an explanation of what it modifies. Thus, if you want melee or H2H character, you'd want to have decent strength and endurance.
But go ahead and experiment; you can use perks to increase these as you play.
