Indivisible: Valkyrie Profile/Metroid, Indiegogo, PC/Mac/Linux/PS4/XB1 -- funded!

Hmm, actually, I need some clarifications. I backed the $75 well-wisher tier which is the all digital one, but according to the chart in the OP the physical stuff should roll into it too?

Not that I mind really, don't need physical.

The chart in the OP is wrong. It was taken from the opening days of the campaign and has since been fixed on the IGG page.

This needs to get funded. Really looking forward to playing it in full. Planning on playing the prototype tonight on PS4.

Lanshi

Lanshi is a dog, which can only mean one thing: reincarnation as an animal, resulting from his ignorant ways in a past life.

Captured as a pup, Lanshi was mercilessly abused by his new owner, who hoped to turn the massive beast into a vicious guard dog. But throughout years of mistreatment, he somehow remained friendly and obedient. Eventually dismissed as useless, Lanshi was abandoned one winter morning to wander the desolate mountains alone. He now lives a lazy life taking frequent naps under the sun, and survives on scraps provided by the adoring townspeople of his new domain, challenged by none.

Of all the questions surrounding him, the most mysterious is how this seemingly docile dog possesses the Vajra, a powerful relic that allows him to conjure and manipulate lightning when threatened. Karma works in mysterious ways - perhaps the artifact is somehow connected to Lanshi's previous misdeeds.

Just reading over the update from 11 minutes ago -- is the 20-day extension finalised, or do Indiegogo have to authorise it first?

They need to change the length of the campaign on their backend, but that's just a matter of someone being awake to do it. Which should be in 3-4 hours, I'd guess.

Awesome. I'm also looking into how to increase my pledge - any idea? I didn't create an IGG account, so can I actually increase what I've already contributed, or just do it as another transaction?

So while you don't need an account to contribute, you do need one to upgrade.

So probably easiest to refund your contribution and make another. And if you think you might go up again, might be good to make an account.

That dog seems both cute and badass.

Well, things seem to have slowed down a lot in the past few hours, but still looks like today will be at least our third best day. Again. :)

At least going by UTC time, it's only $2k shy of beating our second best day.

Might even beat the first day?

Perfect design there, no need for more words!

Was wondering why there isn't a backer tier that allow to collaborate with the development team to create an in-game weapon or item. I guess some people might prefer to design an item rather than an NPC. Like, me :p

Because there aren't really weapons or items to collect, that's why.

Weapons and armor will all be upgrade-based, kinda like Suikoden.

But instead of paying with money, you'll pay with items you find while exploring - think Missle Expansions and Energy Tanks, basically.

Welp, finally got to try out the Prototype (EU PSN) and almost immediately dropped $30 on the digital tier. Fresh, fun feeling gameplay (rapid RPG battles with minor transitions are a big draw for me) with goooooorgeous art. If I had a bit more cash I'd love the physical version, but alas I am not quite getting paid enough at the moment.

Have I mentioned that I have the most awesome employees?

Thanks so much for the support!

Every bit helps, so spread the word and get your RPG-loving friends to give it a shot.

Hmm... wonder what's going on with the $900k Incarnation?

Had forgotten about the updgrades, but I guess the total lack of items fits well with the concept of a more action oriented game with very little menu presence.

Really looking forward Mike's post about additional battle mechanics now.

Bit OT, but does it benefit you at all if the demo is downloaded multiple times - or is it quite the opposite in that you have to pay for server/bandwidth space? Just thinking, I already DLd this on my US account, but I could also download it on my UK account if the higher numbers of demo downloads would help at all in any way?

... Reading that back, it seems like a really weird question.

I did exactly the same last night instantly after trying it, lovely art, interesting combat mechanics and good music. It's also about all I can afford. I hope they make it.

This is going to get funded. If anything else the drama of it getting to $1.4m or so near the final day will see it zoom past.

Plus an extra 20 days is an extra month of paydays for people to top off their backing or, like me, add in their $100 or so. And I've not ever played VP. I'm backing this to say thank you to all the devs for working so damn hard on SG.

I sort of want to write something about this experience, because it's one of the most difficult and gut-wrenching things I've ever had to do.

There's probably a good enough yarn for Skullgirls to fill a book. For this one, there's still some way to go but it'd be good to only do it after all the washup since there'll certainly be many trials ahead whether or not this is funded.

As for the negativity, there has been heaps on crowdfunding ventures big and small so it takes a lot of skill and patience to sort out the constructive criticism from other things that don't really make sense. Recent fundraisers have had that problem and it can be a bit sad to see particularly when you feel that folks are just waiting for you to fail. You'll know who your true friends are.

That said, the demo, the tie ins, ongoing updates and new stuff in the past 1-2 weeks has gotten folks excited. I do think that there's a thing as 'momentum' that is starting to bear fruit now that the folks have their hands on the demo/prototype.

On that note, I've finally got around to playing the demo/prototype.

Quite liked it, my only thoughts surround providing some freeze frames and a sound effect (maybe I didn't hear it) when an enemy is defeated. It was a bit hard to tell if the enemy was dead or had a silver of life left. Controls took some time to get used to but by the end it was much better having got used to VP1-style combat and character positioning.

Thanks for the heads up, SinCity. So I guess LZ are hoping that the X1 users will buy the game rather than support it?

Don't be like that. Most crowdfunded games don't even get a demo at all. And if they do then it certainly doesn't come to consoles. They only had enough money to put the demo on one system. I am guessing PS4 was the choice due to a higher userbase, a better business relationship with Sony after Skullgirls, and Microsoft's tougher policies.

The engine was already ported to PS4 due to putting out Skullgirls. They'd have to port the whole engine all over again to try and put it on XBone.

Fact; all of the best RPGs have at least one animal as a party member.

To name the popular examples; Persona 3/4, Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy 6/7, Breath of Fire, and Tales of Vesperia.

I'm pretty sure they got the greenlit to put the prototype up on the Xbox Live Marketplace, but they didn't purely because of resources.

The engine wasn't ported to the One, while (thanks to Skullgirls) it was on PS4.

It's because their engine was already ready for the PS and wouldn't require as much work as an X1 version, where they'd have to start from scratch.

So the campaign has been bumped or another month eh? I tried the prototype last night and it was quite enjoyable.

They had to get 900K before 72 hours of the campaign ending to qualify for an extension

Thankfully they managed to reach it with only 4 days left to spare.

It's not like they intentionally made 20 days of the campaign hidden until the last minute. A prerequisite was required to qualify for it.

I have to say I've liked animals in RPG's. Kids as well. Saying that despite the fact Vesperia as both a kid and an animal, it is my favourite Tales game!

Robo your CT animal? Frog?

I need to give the prototype another go. I was kinda feeling it until I hit a boss fight and gave up after a few tries. I was rushing though, so I think I'll take my time and see if I can't get a better grip on the combat.
