Halo 5: Guardians |OT| The Trials of Osiris

Yeah, but my KDA is like 1 always anyway haha.

The 3-In-A-Row Limit lets me feel like i've only spent 1 Hour on a losing team.

Also...losing 3 times in a row is a real Performance-Killer for me.

Good, then you get to keep playing!!!

This is one scenario where moving the goal posts is completely acceptable! No one actually loses in Warzone, some just win more than others.

In 4 days. Fairly solid in my book.

Still a shame. No wonder they even took $10 off pre-orders and what not. Just sad. MCC did more harm than we give credit for. I know a lot of Halo fans, Xbox One owners who just don't want to buy the game. I was mentioning my younger cousins as well. They just want what that Destiny Super, CoD style game gives them. Hopefully this gives them a solid base to build off of for Halo 6 though.

Such a stupid oversight. Can you imagine what kind of custom games you could make with the REQ weapons and vehicles? Snow maps using tundra vehicles, gametypes where people are given the special legendary variants of weapons. Imagine their blood gulch map where everyone is starting off with the CE legendary magnum?

Apparently Karl mentioned that you can't even turn off secondary weapons in custom games? So no snipers only etc. Or magnum only starts.

I really hope they change their minds on this when Forge is out. It would be a great way to let people try those weapons out. I would have thought them not being there was related to them not being in Arena full stop — but isn't Prophet's Bane already in one of the maps?

Am I the only one who feels like Warzone Firefight is a missed oppertunity?

Sometimes I just feel like doing some co op, and Halo 5 offers no solution for this outside getting friends together for campiagn. Firefight with Warzone REQ's would be a great way to earn RP

Damn I literally just posted this in to Where does MS go from here thread before seeing your post

Aside from usual requests of "moar maps" etc;

I'd like to see a replayable cooperative mode readded. Right now the game is either campaign, Warzone or MLG-whether-you-want-it-or-not Arena.

Spartan Ops wasn't faultless but it was something. A kind of hybrid between that, firefight and a PVE Warzone you can play with some friends without having to worry about needing to play your absolute best at all times would be great.

Never underestimate the value of being able to play cooperatively. I have always believed that that has allowed for Destiny to be far more popular than it deserved to be.

Also it would be great to actually have a mode outside of FFA where you can player and your Spartan actually has your own colours instead or being a mandatory Red//Blue...

Halo's the only exclusive title that could sell 1mil physical copies in 4 days and cause a melt down.

I'm surprised we're still discussing physical. We've crossed the threshold, that's not relevant. I don't know anyone who has the actual disk and I have a lot of friends who own Halo 5.

NPD numbers are becoming like the Nielsen ratings at this point. They're increasingly outmoded and don't actually accurately count everything, but people cling to them for some reason.

Not sure how I feel about watching Halo matches. I love watching CS, but don't get too into Halo.

Love the game though. Hopefully the esports takes off like they are hoping for.

This is just wrong. The only thing they can't track is digital sales, and those will only add so much because digital purchases are still only ~20% of a game's total sales.

The spectator mode is so useless with it's 2 minutes delay + it not properly displaying what actually happened.

How will they even do the HCS series, when the tournaments are "offline"? Crowd and Teams will cheer 2 minutes in advance, because the game is already finished, while the viewers at home see it 2 minutes later due to the delay.

Wait it's 2 minutes? That's so terrible. Can they even change that?

wow super close stronghold match.

Couple of things I've noticed.

I need to lower the default brightness apparently lol
Saw several people looking down the sights which I never do.
Several places I didn't know you could use on the map.

That's my point.

We discussed physical because it's the only number we have. We can assume digital would be about 20% of sales so H5 likely did 1.25mil in the US alone, in less than a week. Not great for halo, but great for an exclusive in today's 3rd party driven market.

Yet, people are acting like the sky is falling.

No other exclusives perform like this

most likely direct screen grabs from each user instead of spectator mode, classic style.

What happened?
Stream chat says Frankie is pissed.

That completely defeats the whole purpose of spectator mode.

It is still a huge drop in sales from Halo 4. I can't even think of a franchise that has that kind of drop.

Then what was even the point of adding in the feature?

The majority of games are still sold physically, in stores. Sure NPD isnot fully capturing sales, but they can definitely tell you whether something was successful or not.

Nielsen also changes their measurement over time. I believe they count DVR viewing now and Netflix and Amazon streaming.

2 minutes is too long, but there does need to be some kind of delay to prevent cheating.

Haven't used it yet, but not displaying correctly sounds like a much bigger issue.

There should be a setting in custom games for how long the delay should be. There shouldn't even be one in tournaments.

Where are they playing? And what are they playing on? Someone said they are playing on big TVs with high latency but that coulda been tales from their ass.

I'm still highly suspicious of that george guy. For a president of a major company, he sounds like he just came wondering into gaf from being on an island for 20 years. his conversation, if not intentional, sounds very suspect in that it sounds purposefully innocent and obnoxiously polite. "Oh I don't know how the internet works. I'm just learning about this gaf community.." Maybe he's legit, but he comes off as a phony in my opinion and he even he hasn't tried very hard to prove who he is. I see no reason why any person of that high a position would make an account on gaf and start sharing paid for information to the internet. The only way I could even possibly imagine him being genuine is if his first language isn't english. I've noticed through my job when speaking to foreign companies that they often have a strange politeness which comes off as very awkward. Otherwise, I still call BS. Which means the Halo 5 numbers are still unknown.

Then what was even the point of adding in the feature?

Halo 4 was propped up by 70million Xbox 360 users... Many of whom probably don't own a Xbox One... Or a next gen console at all...

In order for H5 to do H4 numbers, it would have needed H3 levels of hype, considering the installed base... Expecting something like that is silly these days.

You can't think of a franchise with that kind of drop, because there's no exclusive franchise with that kind of peak.

I said it months before the game released, but they just need a setting that sets the delay. For "offline" events you could set that to 0 and it would work just fine. And online events should obviously be set to 2 minutes.

Or do it like SC2, where the casters are actually joining the lobby as spectator and not as a player.

Player lagged out. GG for not having LAN Microsoft...
