It'll say ____ liked/loved or disliked/hated that for certain things in the corner when those pop up.

Mostly have to just get a feel for it since nothing will tell you, but you can generally assume based off the character what they'd like.

Thanks, I thought it was like this.

I actually kind of like that there is no number or stats for that. Makes me dig into their character/story and learn about them more.

Dogmeat can pick master locks and dupe items and doesn't count as a companion for Lone Wanderer perk.

Dog is OP.

Heads up this is probably a bug. I really don't think that Cryolator thing was supposed to happen rofl

So with fully upgraded strong back, its basically unlimited carry weight?

Ps: anyone see the thing on gamefaqs on how to get dogmeat to repeat the your special magazine so you can max out your luck endurance strength ect in ps4/xb1 if you wanted to?

So after playing over 40 hours I think I've ran into a game breaking bug that won't let me continue the main quest. I'm on the
Battle for Bunker Hill
quest and I'm
siding with the railroad, I've already warned them about the plan then I go to bunker hill and everyone is a friendly even after I kill the courser. When I go down to speak to the synths all they say is thank you I can't advance it all.
If anyone has had the same bug and has found a way around it I would really appreciate it if you could let me know as I really don't want to have to start over again after playing all this time.

Anyone wanna give me any hints on how to fix this bug?

Not me but I'm having the same issue as that guy, my body is perpetually stuck looking like this now:
055E9AAA03A25B480063573330A2EFEF1C133D80

I've tried reloading/dying/restarting the game. The closest save I have that doesn't have this affecting it is almost 4-5 hours of progress back.

Any advice? I feel like if I could just somehow force the game to reload my characters textures or something, I don't know. Its really bugging me because I cant sneak in 1st person anymore.

As shotguns go, is the double-barrel or combat shotgun the better option?

I use both. Double barreled for smaller encounters and combat shotgun when feeling swarmed. Depends on how many targets you need to shoot at. The double barreled shotgun is gonna be more ammo efficient, but the combat shotgun is gonna have a higher response time.

Hope there's a guide on which companion to bring on certain missions, because I know most of these main missions have a companion who will spout extra dialogue but I always manage to bring the wrong one.

PSA: Cait can pick the Brotherhood master lock in 3 tries. Best companion so far.

Well, I'm usually lucky concerning bugs and glitches, but had my first quest locking glitch on "Emogene takes a lover".

Heads up for those who have the same problem: Emogene was not where she was supposed to be; reloading a save before I started the quest and do it all again would not help, so no way to complete the quest.

This would have locked me out of
charisma Bobblehead
had I not found this on reddit:
As soon as you are missing Emogene, execute all these commands in this order
setstage 000503B9 70
setstage 00022A00 705
setstage 00022A00 710
setstage 00022A00 720
setstage 00022A00 750
And just proceed as the quest tells you.

Any other stupidly OP perks like Blitz? Anyone have Ricochet? How often does it ricochet bullets? I'm thinking what to focus on next for my melee guy.

Did not use any glitches so far, but this is incredibly tempting.
Very tempted myself. I tried it once to see if it actually works and it does. Have to get the timing down perfect and took me about 20+ tries. But it definitely works. I mean I'll eventually max them out anyway. Im just debating since im limited on time anyway I can just focus on my perks instead. Need to sleep on it.

Does anyone know that song on Diamond City Radio that has lyrics like "I'm so painfully shy", and "Maybe I should go to school about love"? It's one of my favorite songs but I can't find it on the wiki's list of songs and the lyrics don't bring up anything but modern pop nonsense when I search for it on the internet.

Started playing today. Spent way too long creating Azel, but I was happy-ish with the results. The character creator is clearly very powerful and I had fun tinkering. Memories of Oblivion's potato people are a distant past.

The intro was charming but brief enough to feel perfunctory. I would have liked to explore the little town a bit, but the nuke hit every time I tried. Very much enjoyed exploring the vault and finding all the terminals and small details that told stories in the environment; Bethesda was masterful at staging scenes in Skyrim and that has carried over to Fallout 4.

I did what I always do with Bethesda games after entering the wild: soak up the view, then turn around and go the exact opposite direction. Unfortunately that led to the edge of playable space, but I spent some time exploring around the border and found quite a few interesting, unmarked places and got a good load of supplies, before landing at my first major destination. (The fence marking the edge of the playable space is a nice touch.)

Gameplay wise, it's Bethesda. Which is to say going from the gunplay in Destiny to this was straight up painful. I'll be leveraging VATS very heavily.

The game is beautiful; loving the environmental details and the lighting in particular.

I'm playing a weapon heavy sneak thief: will sneak into and through areas, but capable of blasting my way out. Won't be touching companions, but I do look forward to settlement building. Right now I'm picking up everything that's not bolted down.

I freaking love this game.

Took me forever but I finally got it!
Gives you a special perk called "Pie in the sky" that makes all deserts give you a temporary speed boost. *

I haven't progressed much into the game as I am playing on survival (Just did the factory side quest and haven't been to diamond city yet) but my base is coming along nicely at sanctuary.

Psyche! :P

im so jealous of the building skills of some of you guys, damn son

Others have mentioned it already, but holy SHIT, you have to check out the Massachusetts State House (west of Goodneighbor, north of Swan's Pond). It's like a short horror-suspense film.

Man, this dialogue system is so good, every game should use it.

I swear as good as the gameplay is I feel like just going back to play New Vegas or at least wait like 6 months for mods to fix everything. I wasn't prepared for just how bad the dialogue and writing turned out to be.

I wanted a treehouse. Now I've got a tree in my villa.

Also I can't build anymore. Nothing. Is there a cap per settlement how much you can build? What a bummer...
I want to know this as well. I spent forever trying to figure out the ins and out of the building and I kept scrapping pieces I wasnt using after crafting them without realizing my diminishing returns until I realized I had used up half of my resources for nothing. Was a real bummer. I'd have to go back pretty far to reload an older game.

Very nice base by the way.

Just stroll'in through the wasteland and found myself the Fat Man <3
As long as there wasn't a guy on the other end shooting mini-nukes then you are all good because some places I've been to where just....nope situations!

Also has anyone had their settlements attacked yet? I haven't had a single settlement attacked and I have over 10 settlements on the go now and some of them are barely defended outside of three heavy machine turrets and lots of walls.

I almost feel like I over defend my settlements now when they sit above 50+ defense.

Wow... The Lost Patrol mission can eat my ass.
The satellite array with the super mutants is the hardest thing I've faced in the game so far
. Level 11, major skills are agility and perception, playing on very hard.

I guess I should do the main quest for a while. See what the big deal is about Diamond City.

thats the same level I was when I got my ass handed to me. I went back in mid 20s

Man, I want a mod that allows me to access the crafting menu anywhere in the wasteland. That, and one that allows me to completely level an area and rebuild it.

Yea that was an incredibly difficult section to finish. You could technically make a break for the objective and then jump out as long as you have power armor.

I have a couple of questions. Hope someone can answer them.

1. Do all merchants pay the same amount when buying your stuff, or are some merchants paying more than others? Same goes for their prices when you're the buyer.

2. I have only one Power Armor body right now, and it's at Red Rocket. Say I wanted to use the PA on a quest on the other side of the map, what's the best way to do that? You can't fast travel with it, so what are you guys doing? Do you have several PA's scattered around the map or what?

You can fast travel with your PA.

Up to
The Memory Den
. Cannot say I am sold on the base building stuff, but everything else has been excellent so far. Is the initial level cap higher than twenty this time? I am nearing level twelve, and I am not going to get much beyond the basic perks if I only get nine more points to assign. ADS with a sidearm is so effective that I do not bother with VATS unless I am using a more powerful weapon.
