McGRIZZLE'S FISTS-ONLY ADVENTURES IN THE WASTELAND -- LOG 5
Previous Logs: 1 | 2 | 3 | 4

Long day today, so I'll keep it short. Got a lot of real good punchin' in today. Did a little cleanup after.

Even guys like me gotta take a rest sometime.

Til next time, keep on punchin'.

these posts are the best part of the thread.

wait, I have to drop on the ground all the junk in order to scrap it?

that's really idiotic.

Go to your workbench and you have the option of storing all of your junk there. That way when you're building, they get pulled from your stash instead and you get the freed up space in your inventory.

holy cow. thats great! i was wondering how to move the bodies and skeletons of people in my settlement. That clears that problem up! Thanks!

First, find a vendor who sells ammo. Any ammo will do.
Pick an ammo type.
Buy every single bullet of that ammo type.
Sell exactly one ammo of the stash you just bought back.
Sell another chunk of the ammo, but not all of it.

Source

Every NPC trader usually sells ammo, right? So if they're selling 14 .307 ammo, buy all 14. Then sell back 1 of said ammo that you just bought. Then sell the rest.

Now you have infinite ammo to sell the NPC. Sell as many times as necessary to make up for the cost of whatever you're buying.

edit: beaten

So temping. Thanks dudes.

I just ran into a pretty huge bug that is preventing me from progressing in the main story and I just wanted to see if anyone here knew of a solution.

It's after the memory sequence in the quest "Dangerous Minds". I left the memory and in the quest log it still says to explore Kellog's memories. I try talking to doctor Amari but nothing happens. There's a marker below the rug in the middle of the room she's in. I've tried fast traveling away then coming back and exiting and reloading the game and nothing worked. I even went back to a previous save and did it all again and I'm still having the same issue.

Has anyone experienced this and found a way past it? Thanks!

uh, I stored all my junk there but it doesn't get scrapped.

The AI is all over the place in this game. Sometimes mobs can see you while hidden from what seems like a mile away, other times I kill a whole room of people make huge noise and the people int he next room go "what was that?, did you hear something?" and dont even go investigate.

Hoping for some help from the experts here. I bought Fallout 4 xbox one digital from gamestop. It said I was suppose to get a code for free fallout 3. I have not gotten anything and after sitting on the phone for 1 hour a a half with gamestop I think they just gave me a half assed answer to move onto someone else. She said wait 7-10 business days and call back if I do not get it.

I tried microsoft and the moron there said there is a service alert right now (which I don't see what that has to do with it) and said I should be seeing the game come up free even though it is still listed as 14.99 on the store when I am logged in. Has anyone gotten the code or know how I go about getting it ?

Man, this dialogue system is so good, every game should use it

so what dictates companion quests triggering? is it your relationship with them? a specific local with them, a story beat, what?

I ask because I just got Nick's quest, and I guess we had a good relationship (he really likes that I hack everything lol), but it happened at a specific point in the story. like, wouldnt it happen if I was with him at this point and he didnt like me?

I basically only used the dog and then nick throughout the game, because lets face it...Nick is by far the best companion as everyone says, hell, he's basically a part of the main story as far as Im concerned, so I wont use the others enough to establish a relationship with them, but would still like to see their quests I guess

anyone? :(

What in the shit.. I didn't know there were legendary
protectrons in the game
I was just standing there staring at it wondering why it was glowing yellow lol

It also blew up like a nuke when it died, thankfully I had power armor on.

Speaking of companions, can we see what they "like" or do they tell us through dialogue?

Like this for Codsworth:

How to Increase Affinity: Codsworth praises nice and generous behavior, but isn't too fond of selfishness and chem use/addiction.

I don't want to use a guide though (haven't seen all companions) so where in the game do they tell us what they like or don't like? Just want to know what to look for.

Finally got into the settlement stuff, holy christ this is fun as hell.

That looks awesome! haha very fancy on the top. Simple and yet elegant. Loving those giant Lions. I don't think i have access to those yet. Tho i did pick quite a few picket fences mag in my adventures. I should go back and rehaul my space.

PSA: There is a vertical border to your settlements. I could build one more staircase than this, but the top of it was beyond the zone, making it impossible to build any floors there.
There is, however, no limit to how high Mama Murphy can get.
Weird. I have six floors. The roof is like an open roof terrace. Haven't tried building another floor, though. Never bumped into a limit.

Can anyone who has unlocked some of the late-game settlement stuff tell me if it's eventually possible to put windows into your crafted buildings? Because... damn.

So the Silver Shroud armor might be my best option for my stealth character at least until I can make my metal armor pieces into the ultra-light weight variety with the armorer level 3 rank.

I think the silver shroud armor gives me like 17 less total defense which is a nice trade for like 1/3rd of the weight (better for stealth).

I heard people saying there's an upgraded version. I'm assuming you're referring to this variation you get
after giving it to the dude who asked for it
and are not referring to being able to upgrade it right?

By god, there's a lot to explore over by the Police Station, where you meet the BoS.

I've come across Raider settlements, Ghouls, Super Mutants, and a lot of bugs.

It'll say ____ liked/loved or disliked/hated that for certain things in the corner when those pop up.

Mostly have to just get a feel for it since nothing will tell you, but you can generally assume based off the character what they'd like.
