Are there any more super enemies than the
Queen Mirklurk
? I must have met that one 6 times already. It's kind of getting old but it's easy xp.

I'm not a big dog person, but every time Dogmeat goes down in battle and you can see him whimpering and trying to stand up but can't it breaks my heart.

You never give him a spare stimpak?! You sir are a monster

How did you get so many cores?! I'm paranoid about using my power armor because i'm afraid of running out of cores. Also that's awesome.

Steal it.

In the BoS airship, there is a guy in power armor that you can steal a core, gets out, puts another back, re-enters his power armor and repeat. Unlimited cores

He was in the middle of a nuclear waste pit with like 3 people on top of him shooting at me :(

On a related note the C
hildren of the Atom
that I mentioned earlier are goddamn fucking ridiculous, mostly because of the insane guns and the grenades they carry. They have fucking sniper range with those guns with a huge radius, so I can't even really cheese or strafe them, it's absurd. And the grenades straight-up oneshot me which is ridiculous given I could take 3 hits from an above level/skull Savage Deathclaw.

It's this reason why I switched to Codsworth.

I only dropped Codsworth because I had a few situations in a row where even though I was in hostile territory the game decided picking up items would be stealing (which made zero sense in every one of those situations) which he disapproves of. He also disapproves of drugs, along with certain dialogue choices that make no sense. Dogmeat doesn't judge.

If you wear the Hazmat suit against them you are basically invincible from their Gamma gun as it deals rad damage and the suit gives + 1000 rad resistance.

Nick commented on the mysterious stranger when it proceed once, it was awesome.

Also, are there any perks that give you more stuff to build in settlements? I mean more recipes not more materials

12 hours in and this is how I feel about the game entirely.

Combat especially is really awful(at least on Survival diff.). I was hoping for a tactical challenge, not "Point-blank pray 'n spray while backpeddling!" Way too many engagements that are pure attrition as enemies close distance with insane speeds(and are mostly melee focused). I can barely even switch to a proper close quarters weapon using the quick menu by the time many of these things are clipping through my character model and hacking away(from my initial prone 'stealth' hit). The only real upgrade to AI from FO3 is that Super Mutants and Raiders love tossing grenades/molotovs with the same impunity as Call of Duty now... (well, the MGS-esque stealth awareness states work better than before at least).

Maybe I need to embrace the stupidity of it all and just lower it down a bit(like the gifs I see of dumb violence). I fear I am stuck between just blowing everything to hell with ease or dealing with the turgid and occasionally frustrating mess that is Survival. As an RPG, this is just the worst.

At least the exploration and quests still have me somewhat engaged and curious, but Bethesda has given us better in that department too from what I have seen and done so far.

Maybe very hard might be the best choice.

I was thinking about that, but the guns also seem to do regular damage unless I'm mistaken? The hazmat suit has like no defense. Or is it just the grenades that do regular damage?

I managed to clear out their camp base or whatever, but I just got to the lighthouse and I'm getting fucking wrecked, which is crazy because none of them are above my level. About to go back now with some Power Armor, but I can't mod my Power Armor very much because I have no points in Science because I'm still stuck putting fucking points into Charisma so I can put points into Local Leader so I can try to share resources so I can build my other settlements out so they stop getting fucking attacked. Goddamn I hate the settlement bullshit, and I can't just "not do it" because my shit is getting attacked all the fucking time now. I mean I guess I could just kill all of my settlers?

I was putting some ammo in the mailbox nearby while I did the dupe glitch and was looking around for Clara cause I heard a moo. She's nowhere around, then I look behind me and there's Bessie on the roof getting a tan. 😂

Hahaha I heard veeery weird noises aswell before it turned up on the roof! x'D

Their gun only do rad damage. That how I cleared the lighthouse. With the suit on your are invincible from their guns. Their grenade do normal damage but you can rush them before they throw it.

Can someone tell me where to start the Shroud quest?
While exploring I went into the comic shop and already cleared it out, and have the outfit but I can't really do anything with it. If I try to remove it from the inventory it says it's quest related and won't let me move it.

I've only had a run-in with them once, but do you mean
their weird radar dish radiation beam gun? I just put on a hazmat suit and it doesn't do shit.

Edit: Oh, too slow on that reply, lol.

I beat the whole lighthouse thing with no suit, shall i be proud? :>

There were some deaths tho D:

Yeah, it's pretty rough. I don't think any of these enemies have skulls for me but I think I might be a tad underleveled (25). Also hurting a bit because I don't have Gun Nut rank 3 or any of the gun damage perks (Rifleman etc) since I'm saving everything to get Local Leader.

okay
final level has both crashed and had me leave a room the way the marker didnt tell me to go and i entered the next room to the ragdoll death animation

all the glitches!

Where do I find wooden support beams while in building mode?

What do you mean? As far as I can tell there aren't any vertical posts (like the prefab walls-with-roofs have). If there is a pillar in there somewhere I'd love to know, myself...

Do you need to have magazines actually on you for them to work. Or can I just place them on a magazine rack at my home.

You can ditch them. Benefits are permanent.

Some of the weapons mentioned in this thread sound super exciting. I haven't really messed with weapon mods at all, part of me kind of wants to just use whatever drops.

I got the
junk jet
from the first BOS quest but it seems kinda useless (from my limited experience). I've kept it on hand as a just in case sort of thing because the early Corvega experience ended up with me burning through almost all of my ammo. Since then I've built up a pretty massive stockpile, put two points into the scrounging ammo perk, and use melee as much as possible

I have an issue regarding the "Silver Shroud" quest. I need to talk to the mayor Hancock but I can't because he is now a companion? Even when the guards react to the Silver Shroud getup Hancock doesn't care. I completed the Big Dig quest earlier... this is like the issue some people have regarding Paladin Dance?

EDIT: Solve it. I recruited Hancock, then talked to him by the command menu while dressed up

Thanks for the hazmat suit advice guys, was easy as pie with that thing on, had to make sure to avoid some of the mines/grenades but yeah. Then when I got to the top there was two guys up there fighting a Glowing One that came for me, and since the hazmat suit has like 10 defense he almost one shotted me. So mid-combat I had to switch back to my gear and hide behind this pole so I could hit the glowing one but the other guys couldn't quite get an angle on me. It all worked out but not my night tonight apparently lol.

.

I remember there was a radio broadcast I listened to before going into the shop. Tune in to that?

What's the best way to get leather? It's the only crafting component that I'm always short on.

having a similar experience since adhesive is not a problem anymore. I grow all the things I need to get adhesive (except water but I have tons of it somehow). last I checked I had over 160 adhesive in stock and I'm always replenishing.

leather on the other hand... I make sure to loot any leather armor I see on raiders and kill any leather animals I see, but other than that I don't have any firm plan.

Go to the
Memory Den, there's a ghoul named Kent in a side room that gives you the quest.

Aside from
Sanctuary and Red Rocket
are there any other places that are good for farming wood and steel?

I used up all of mine building a house last night haha.

Damn I am loving this game. Sure it's not complex or "deep" like other RPG's, but there's always something so satisfying about Bethesda's games.

So far I've found three settlements, but I don't like any of them and so haven't started building. The build sites in the north west are so limiting. Did I read correctly that junk stored in one workshop is accessible from all of them?

On a storage note - what are safe containers to store things? I'm lugging around a rocket launcher, minigun and power armor parts that I'd love to store but I don't know what's a safe place to do so.

You can store stuff in your workshop. not sure what "containers" are safe, though I'd love to know since I'm OCD about organization.

I just made a container in my shack at my settlement. Nothing has gone missing so far in 22+ hours. Fat Man, Mini Nukes, etc.
