So I decided to finally do some story today and the
Glowing Sea
is so fucking eerie. Brilliant atmosphere. Also doing the
Silver Shroud
missions was really fun.
Felt like a real superhero. Ya know. Gunning down bad guys with my tommygun. Heh.

One question (pertaining to aliens):
I fast traveled somewhere downtown and as soon as loading was done, I heard a whizzing overhead me and Nick said something about how he hoped whoever that was survived or something. I'm like 90% sure it was the UFO and not a BoS vertibird. I didn't see which way it was flying towards though, so I have no clue where it is. Any way to find out?

The dig questline.

Spoiler: jankiness galore.

Yeah in the last wall I kept pressing A and nothing happened and I thought I was fucked. Turns out you have to wait for the dude to approach it and say "best do all the shit in the tunnels before this last wall mate"

Do you guys think I should get this now digitally or wait it until BF for a sale? Do you guys think it will be on sale?
There will definitely be sales. Idk, do you have anything else to play between now and then? Would you pay $20-$25 to play a game 2-3 weeks early?

It does by the way. When you choose who to inform it locks you out if the others I hear. Did you do the lost paladin quest?

Also that Art event is very short. Cool but short.

no i haven't done the lost paladin quest, where do i get this?

I just did the quest with the Squire, is this considered a a major brotherhood quest or a step in the right direction?

EDIT: okay went back to report to the guy in the paladin and now doing another squire mission... im guessing this isn't part of the main quests for the brotherhood.

Theres a radio signal near the start, a bit to the east, that starts a quest. Its a long ass chain and ine of the steps, some super mutants in a satellite dish array, is notoriously hard (I got recked at around 10, went back in my mid 20s).

I believe you can also get it from him tho because I handed the quest at him when he started talking about it i was like "yeah ive already done that mate"

I realized
there was another wall to blow up. But when i tried to activate it mel and the robot vanished.
By the way, fighting dozens of ghouls in tight spaces with 3 npcs on my way was infuriating.

Say, does knuckles/fist weapons counts as unarmed or melee weapons...? I am assuming melee, right?

I'm watching melee build videos. Those Blitz attacks are insane, hahaha. It's like the PC is just teleporting around, which he/she is actually!

Anyone run into an NPC named Gruel? I was doing a quest and he ended up showing up mid fight with a bunch of ghouls. Dude had a skull and crossbones next to his name so I assumed he was an enemy and was gonna start shooting at me so I shot first. After killing him I went to loot his chef's hat and also found he had a shopping (hunting?) list of meats from various creatures, like he was just trying to find stuff to make a meal. Felt kinda bad afterwards. Anyone know if he's part of a quest or anything, or just a unique enemy?

Got a 70 damage Combat Rifle from the boss during Taking Indepence but died right after... Killed the boss again and got a 30 damage shotgun. Literally crying right now.

near the start of the Prydwen? or Airbase?, im speaking to Captain Kells (black dude in cap), and he seems to only have Squire quests

in sanctuary if you go to a crafting station you can tag the items you need for modding, that way you can only take what what you need. Also the workshop in sanctuary has unlimited storage for junk, you can auto drop your crap with a single button :D

I really hate that there's no way to flag items in workshop storage as "do not breakdown". Lost three stealthboys unintentionally due to making crap for my settlements. :(

So using the spray and pray gun on ghouls is fucking awesome. Everytime I feel like I'm getting bored with this game it throws something new at me and I'm back in.

This news to be a thing.

I have Halo 5 and BO3 to hold me over, I just am not sure if waiting the 2-3 weeks is going to get any significant deal and if I should just dive in now. All these bugs and glitches have me holding off a bit too so maybe waiting a bit will allow for some of the major bugs to be fixed.

Is it even possible for stealth boys to be scrapped? My game has never scrapped anything aside from junk automatically...

Spent an hour clearing out trees, fences, and broken furniture in Sanctuary. Not my definition of fun but I kept doing it till it clear. Not sure if I'll be doing all this housekeeping at other settlements...yet.

...this shouldn't be possible if you use store all junk option since stealth boys is not a junk item. They don't even show up in workstations, be that weapons or armor. In fact, I am pretty sure you cannot scrap them since it is a consumable... can you?

Cait companion quest stuff.

Cait asked me to help her with her psycho addiction by taking her to a certain vault. We see psycho there, and Cait reacts negatively to all the psycho laying around.

Meanwhile, I'm popping psycho the entire time while I fight gunners (I'm a habitual druggy in FO games) and she loves it each time!

It's funny that people used Piper as an example for how shitty Fallout 4 looks, she's easily the worst looking character model I've seen so far. Don't know why she's been put in the trailers.

Well, I definitely stored the stealth boys in my workbench and then after making a ton of electronic stuff for my settlements I searched for them in my workbench and they were not there any longer. I also made a ton of beds and the tuxedo, pre-war money and comic books I'd stored in the bench also vanished.

You gotta be fucking kidding me

Motherfucking
Paladin Brandis
stays standing in the freaking mess hall the WHOLE. FUCKING. TIME. Never goes to sleep. This fuck.

And there's like twenty people around him all of the time. No possible way to sneak around him and kill him. This is ridiculous. Congratulations Bethesda you made it where I can't get a piece of clothing because apparently only one guy wears it and if you didn't kill him the first time around because you had the means to not do it, you're locked out of this armor piece?

God dammit. I'm REALLY. REALLY hoping that I'm mistaken and somebody discovers another way to get the BOS Officer uniform.

Guess I'll have to do with killing this lone guard on the side that has the regular BOS uniform variation.

Can't wait for the mod to make companions shut the fuck up. Have them all at the red rocket garage, and they always congregate in the crafting area, forcing me to listen to their bullshit over and over while upgrading stuff. Strong is especially bad. Ended up just sending him to the farm instead.

Also, stupid how they got rid of the keyring item from before, and now all of your keys clutter up the misc section of your inventory.

The pre-war money can be scrapped but the tuxedo/comics can't...so wherever these things are going, they're not being turned into materials.

Just did the main quest that takes you to Goodneighbor to
relive Kellogg's memories. Based on some of the dialog Kellogg had about how synths can now pass off as human
I have a theory that (potential story spoilers maybe??)
you are actually a synth and don't know it

Near the start of the game :p east-ish of sanctuary / red rocket. You sure you havent done it?

I thought that way when I first met her, but in all honesty that went away later on. I actually thought more about how well some things look. It must be how you interpret her at first.

So I was doing this quest from Diamond City and it required me to go to some gang meeting and kill everyone, the bar tender Henry Cooke asked me to do it for him, I told him to go first after he told me to back him up. During the battle, the other guy from town who was doing the deal fled, and the Henry guy was dead, I'm assuming he got blown up by some of the grenades I through in the battle. His dead body has his house key and a couple of other items, I didn't fail the mission and it basically just opened a dungeon location on the map for me after interrogating Trish the leader - the chem lab. Does the game need Henry alive? It seems like the guy who asked me to beat him up before that triggered this quest line said he didn't care if I killed him or not so I wonder what's going to become of the bar, hopefully this won't break anything and I can complete this quest.

The same exact thing happened to me -- I talked to the other dude involved and we changed the split to 50-50, then I just went into the chem lab and the quest automatically completes once you gain access. So you're fine.

So she DOES have a quest. Good, back to using her then. I got to the point where she told me her life story and I could romance her bit sisnt get the quest so I thought she didnt have one. And ive even been to that
vault...WITH her and thought "this would be a good place for your quest given what you told me Cait..."

Can't you up your stealing perk to max, with ability the steal equips items, and take it from him?

Is there any way to quickly find lost companions on ps4? I'm trying to do some quest that requires nick valentine and I can't remember where I sent him for the life of me. Went to his office and no luck.

Well, I guess this is a permanent problem and I hope it's patched asap. Tried building a bell at every settlement, went to his office, went to the
memory quest office
and still nothing. Tried waiting weeks of in game time and nothing.

Should have an option in the pip boy where I can highlight all known companions/former companions and they instantly show up on the map. Apparently there's some option on PC but unfortunately I'm too far into my PS4 run to want to start over on PC.

Is there any consequence to stealing as long as no one sees you? Like do items get flagged as stolen?

I don't remember which but I know one of Bethesda's other games would fuck you up if you tried to sell stolen shit to the wrong people

Hopefully they'll show up, but I'm doubtful. Is there a list of what can and cannot be broken down by the workbench somewhere?

Anything classified as "junk" in the inventory, plus non-legendary weapons and armor pieces (e.g. leather left leg, raider right arm, etc.). I don't think any headgear or full outfits like the tuxedo are scrappable.

There's a loading screen tip that says abandoned BoS vehicles are a good source for fusion cores but every tank or hummer I find has no way to get in so whats up with that?

Oh shit. I've just been dumping everything that I don't wanna carry around into my main workstation. Thought it was safe.

Ok, thanks. Wonder where all my good stuff went then. Probably the same place where all the companions that get lost do.

Don't worry, it's safe. The only thing the game ever automatically scraps is junk -- weapons and armor have to be manually scrapped.

Ok this is definitely not the case with my game (PC - 19 hours in). Generic weapons and armor are also being broken down automatically.

Can't you up your stealing perk to max, with ability the steal equips items, and take it from him?

Yeah but that's like 4 perk points I don't wanna waste right now as I have my perks planned out for my build until like level 50. I'll probably hold off on doing anything that jeapordizes my standing with the BoS until I at least get to level 55 so I can just mass get all of the pickpocket points. Assuming I don't get the uniform from elsewhere. Hopefully by then somebody will have found an alternative to getting it. The grey variation is good enough for now I just wanted cool under armor.

Oh and the way I got it is pretty fucked up. I'll post a video link later.

What perks and special are you focusing on for the unarmed build?

To start I went:

8 Str
1 Per
10 End
2 Cha
1 Int
1 Agi
5 Lck

So far I took Idiot savant and solar powered right away, toughness, iron fist, man hunter, bloody mess etc. Also trying to pump up agility and luck eventually.

Well shit, if that's happening it must be a glitch or something because the game is never supposed to automatically scrap that stuff. I just tried it myself at a weapons workbench I never use and the game didn't recognize any of the shitty generic weapons I had stored there as parts for crafting mods. Hurm.
