Im struggling to maintain my faction juggle act. Late / end game story and faction spoilers!

I guess im done with Brotherhood because the next quest for them (Tactical Thinking) automatically puts my Railroad stuff in a fail state, Im juggling the Railroad quest to free the Synths while helping Father with his quests (as the Railroad quest itself tells me to). I just did Battle for Bunker Hill (what a clusterfuck since I warned both the Railroad and the BoD lol) and now I have a quest called Mankind Redefined. Is this the point of no return? Father wants me back at the Institute to talk to the bosses aparently.

So yeah I think I cant do much else now before making everyone angry

Yeah. Your right at the end.

and thats with me only having two days off work since the games release...............

Have I hit a bug? I'm doing the Nuclear Option for the railroad. I'm told to go talk to the
synth in the Institute.
Wen I arrive, nobody is there, and it progresses to having me go clear out the relay control room. The only way I know to get there is to use the elevator. The elevator says I have no access to it. Help please

I'm at the exact same part, and I have no clue WTF is going on. I'm looking all over the place.

So Lone Wanderer really works if you keep Dogmeat around eh?

I need to take Local Leader my next level up, but maybe after that.

So what's the best melee weapon out there? I've been running around with a Serrated Chinese Sword, but it feels a little lackluster.

okay survival is putting me to sleep so i will just patch it with mods.

I will first try 25% less player dmg and 250% enemy dmg, see if it can provide some challenge.

Do I need to have all this junk in my inventory to use it during crafting or can I transfer it to any crafting table? Would I need to use that same table?

Yup. Everything has been fine and I completed the main story siding with the institute just fine. Now it's not working for the railroad.

Nice game-breaking bug. I go there, everything disappears, and I can't leave the area. Just...what the hell.

I found a post that said the bug happens if you go there with power armor on. You have PA on too? I'm going to use an older save, stash the power armor, then go there.

All the tables in a settlement share the same pool. You can deposit all the junk and the system will break them up for parts as you need them.

Separate settlements do not share the same pool unless you build a trade route.

Just posting this in the hopes that someone can help me. I can't talk to P.A.M. anymore, she keeps saying that security mode is enabled, or intruder countermeasures have been taken, and she won't talk to me. I'm not enemies with the Railroad, and I have quests I need to turn in to her, but I can't.

It's especially frustrating because I read that I need to complete some of the Jackpot quests to get Tinker Tom to make me able to
modify regular outfits
, which I would really like to be able to do.

Is this happening because I
didn't kill anyone but the turrets during the Battle of Bunker Hill
? I assume you're normally forced into making enemies out of people at that point, but I just ran all of the way inside and
sent the Synths back to the Institute.
No one got mad at me.

Is there some way I can fix this with console commands? It's very frustrating because I'd have to go back literally dozens of hours to an earlier save to not have this be the case anymore.

Been playing with 9-10(+?) luck for over 80 hours. Spent half of this year's vacation time on this. Found a lot of legendaries enemies and in turn legendary items.

I noticed that some places spawn legendaries more consistently than others so I hunted for spawn points I could scum so I could see what kind of items would spawn over time and found the perfect spot. By accident. While role playing Assasin's Creed and slowly descending from building to building saving before every leap I eventually landed on the fifth story highway and walked over to the Garden Terrace fast travel point. I saved and tested the fast travel point only to realize that if I take a step forward I hit a spawn flag for a Super Deathclaw who's form might depend on your level.

At my character's level (at this point, I have played beyond this point since then) I was 37 and playing on hard/ very hard the Legendary Alpha Deathclaw spawns around 65% of the time while the Deathclaw Matriarch spawns the rest of the time.

Not exactly a re-occurring legendary bloat fly but it was a consistent/ easy to reload spawn point nonetheless and it was a good time for me to test my weapons. It also allowed me to quickly check to see if these flags reset by coming back every once in a while.

What came out on top? Was it the rocket launcher that does double damage to enemies with full HP? Was it the mini gun with explosive rounds? The sniper rifle with double shot or the assault rifle that adds +50 radiation damage per hit? No.

It was a Wounding Rapid Auto 10mm. 20 ballistic damage and, more importantly, 25 bleed damage over time. Bleed damage, by the way, being stackable.

The gun kills the Legendary Alpha Deathclaw in 15 seconds in Hard Mode and 21 seconds in Very Hard.

Enemy armor and damage mods/ perks do not affect this. As long as you can hit something with it this weapon will shred. The only thing that could top it is a wounding minigun but that feels kind of unwieldy so I'm perfectly happy with how effective this is. That it works on synths/ turrets/ power armor is kind of strange though.

After testing for a few hours while catching up on last weeks podcasts I eventually landed on a double-hitting Laser Musket which and continued playing. In theory it should be incredible in a single hit at it's full potential (which I can't reach yet without the relevant crafting perks). I will eventually use it to burn my banked crits but yeah - 6 cranks, maxed crit mods/ perks, lone wanderer 25% damage bonus, maxed rifle perks, sneak bonus, and double hit... it has to be the strongest single hit in the vanilla game. I'm not quite there (4 cranks, sub optimal damage modifiers) and it already does 45% damage to a Paladin in full power armor on a single hit without the sneak bonus in hard mode.

Ugh in 31 hours of playing I've been scrapping or selling all excess guns and just realized I should give them to settlers -.-

ffs.

I'm 90 hours in and I've yet to have anyone attack one of my settlements, aside from the (scripted?) one that happened right after the tutorial told me to set up defenses. Do you get a notification that one is under attack or something?

I just need some basic advice.. Two things, mainly.

1. Just getting to Diamond City seemed sort of dangerous, but so were most of the other quests I got around Sanctuary (after finishing the first bunch). What I'm getting at is where the hell I should go, essentially? I stumble upon stuff constantly, but some of them seem quite difficult. Any pro tips, general pointers?

2. Grabbed my junk, then put it in a box. But the box doesn't transfer across boxes a'la Resident Evil, does it? So if I've put a whole bunch of things in a work desk in Sanctuary, I actually gotta go to that specific bench and pick stuff out to use it? And how do I scrap stuff for parts when I'm not in The Sims mode back home?

Thats not the quest that makes other factions mad at you

I finally got one yesterday. Notification pops up. It doesn't make a sound tho, so easy to miss.

Here's a heat map of the enemy levels.

So what's everyone's ideal loadout for their weapons around end game?

I'm hoping to have:

  1. Kellogg's
    Pistol
  2. Deliverer
  3. The Guardian Overseer
  4. Les Fusil Teribles

No hoping that I get a nice legendary drop. Just run and get these and enjoy the game. Also hoping that DLC really cranks it up for people who end up having end game builds.

I already have my ideal loadout for end game.

1. Electric Chinese serrated officer sword with +50% against robots. Already does really sick damage for a medium speed weapon, and against robots? Fuhged about it.Called it Raiden

2. That silenced gun you get from finishing the first set of
railroad
. I put upgrades on it and called it 007.

3. One of those big jet propulsioned mallets, maxed it out and it does 100+ physical plus like 30 or so energy damage and that's with one more to go in big leagues. Coupled with sneak damage from ninja and getting better criticals I can one-shot deathclaws. I called it Mjolnir

So does anybody know how to get around the bug me and Randomseed are dealing with?

everything is dangerous. It's a wasteland man. :) If you make the journey to Diamond City a bunch of useful interactions are open to you, or you can chill out and build sanctuary up a bit, or go back to Concord and look for stuff, or whatever you feel like.

In Sanctuary depositing stuff to any bench in Sanctuary will give you access to your materials when crafting in Sanctuary. Stuff that's stored will automatically be scrapped when you need the parts from them for crafting. If you later connect outposts with supply lines, you get access to the inventories from each one that's connected at either workbench.

Idk, mine is pretty god damn OP..even without double damage.

It's not that I mind the sword, but I've been running around with it for most of the game and the melee upgrades are a bit boring.

Super Sledge's and Power Fist's are pretty fun.

Well, haven't skilled Unarmed, but I guess I'll check out the Super Sledge.

so..dumb question but is there an easier way to scrap junk besides tossing it on the ground and going into workshop mode and scrapping it?

If you transfer junk to the workshop, it's automatically scrapped when necessary.

What do I do to give settlers weapons? Do I just drop them and order them to pick them up?

Talk to them and ask them to trade.

Go to your side of the inventory.

Give them the weapon or armor or cloth

Go to their side and equip it. I play on pc with a 360 controller and its Y to equip it.

Just put it in your junk. No need to scrap it manually it'll do it automatically if you need a piece.

i feel like we've answered this countless of times now haha

do I have to give them bullets like with companions? Part of the reason I take away weapons when I no longer use a companion is because I don't wanna leave all that ammo with them.

Am I missing something? I'm doing one of Nick's mission where
you have to meet up with his old friend. I've made it to Shem's grave but can't dig.

Yea. if you don't give them bullets they won't use it. And they will run out of ammo unless its their default gun type.
