Underground Undercover should be the next quest I get from Railroad but I keep getting the same repeatable shitty quests. do I need to finish a specific story quest first in order to get it?

The one before it sounds like one of the repeatable ones but it isnt.

It has a weird name and its one of those safe house quests

Holy shit
Swan
. Nearly pooped.

Where was that again? Someone said and I already forgot. Someone PM me the location pls so I can check when I get home :(

+ Scavenging is addicting. It is most satisfying to pick up economy wonder glue, big packs of duct tape, and surgical/TV dinner trays. I need to find a good source of screws besides desk fans, globes, and toy trucks.

Weapons, even the common ones, are GREAT source of screws, but only if you have the Scrapper perk. Definitely worth a point in if you are heavy in settlements/modding.

Swan's Lake :P.

Also, I was wrong. The
super mutant
companion is totally in to cannibalism.

I still have it at 55 (fully modded obviously). But thats more because I didnt find any other for that ammo. Still does fine if I use it tho (which I rarely do)
I guess I don't... really know how the damage stat actually works in this game very much. We'll see I guess

Got this in related news: http://i.imgur.com/yVruqKn.jpg

Need some Mini Nukes... and .44 ammo. Not a soul in Diamond City can sell me a .44 round, sheesh.

For the two perks Fortune Finder (caps) and Scrounger (ammo).

1) Is Fortune Finder worth it? How many points?

2) I already have one in Scrounger cause ammo, is it worth it to dump more in it? How many?

Scrounger is all-around more valuable a perk because you can convert ammo into caps.

As far as how many points in either, that's really up to you. The effects are noticeable. Unless you're specifically trying to amass a fortune and be able to buy whatever you want (like I am), Fortune Finder is probably a low priority perk

I am having a lot fun with the game. I keep getting sidetracked from the main story, exploring buildings and whatnot.

I do feel sometimes like I am playing the game wrong. I will find a named corpse or run into a named enemy and wonder if I should reload a save so I can find a mission about them first (sometimes I find a holotape or something related to them but other times they are just a mystery). It doesn't bother that much, but I can help but feel like I am missing out on something.

One thing I find annoying is that Piper won't stick with the weapon I equip her with. She keeps switching back to the default 10mm weapon with the next fight.

I have two in Scrounger and you get ammo everywhere. Still may put one more point in it.

Another thing I discovered. If you have Strong at your settlement, settlers are less likely to show up.
I had him there for a long time and gained 5 settlers in a few minutes when I sent him to somewhere else.

Racist motherfuckers

Any reports of fast ways to boost specific companions approval?
Want to get nicks quest for that unique pistol reward.
Guide says nick likes when you donate.
wtf does that mean

Took me 30 hours, and I'm just now learning that i can scrap shit on the floor and worn down houses. :(

Since then, i've been cleaning and decorating Sanctuary.

Question:

1)how many Industrial Water Purifiers should i make?

2) I created two stores. Who will run them?

1) You really need only 1 when you link up your settlements but go hog wild. By late game you will have tons of materials with a handful of exemptions.

2) Go up to a Settler and command them to run the shop.

A fully modded (Gun Nut level 4) assault rifle is just straight up gun porn:

No problem, as someone who has 14ish settlements to manage I feel your pain of trying to manage them.

I really need to edit my gun and armor. It's been so long.

Found a legendary Gamma Rifle with Assassin (50% damage to human enemies), thing absolutely wrecks. Starting to love my Plasma and Gamma weapons now that I have a stockpile of ammo.

Just got a Legendary Fat Man off a Legendary Raider.

It has bonus limb damage. Oh boy, for when you need to send a mini nuke that does a bajillion damage at just something's arm.

The
Railroad
gives a pretty godly silenced 10mm pistol early on.

Still one of my main weapons. Fully modded looks like a splinter cell gun (even has little green lights)

Also the one I use lol. Its the only legendary fatman I found :/

I haven't been this immersed in a game world in a long time.... Tip my hat to Bethesda. Anyone else notice how this game can go from graphically fugly to downright beautiful at times (particularly in the day time)?

They need to patch the minutemen missions. They are too frequent. They're always bitching about being raided. What is the point of building defenses.

Found 2 legendary fat mans. One does 50 percent extra damage to humans and the other negates 30 percent of energy and radiation defense. Like either one is necessary to kill things for a fat man.

Fully decided to go and do main story... got attacked by some Super Mutants. Ended up spending two hours chasing them up an area and eventually gaining a new companion and getting a really nice CHR+3 suit. Whoops.

Pretty sure I'm not the only one who haven't used power armor since the tutorial part in the beginning, right?
I think I have like 20 fusion cores in sitting my storage.

Ive said in this very thread "70 hours in time to wrap it up"

..."80 hours ok going to mainline sont have anything else"

"I cba with random side stuff anymore...

...does 3 pointless repeatable faction quests because i just love how it plays"

Sigh

Nah I barely used it. I use it everytime I need to go to the glowing sea and thats about it

They need to patch settlements in general. It seems like they become unhappy for the weirdest fucking reasons. I feel I am spamming beds all over the place just to keep settlers happy.

Reached a point where I have to decide what I'm going to ignore and what I'm going to focus on. Anything
Brotherhood of Steel
related is about to be ignored. I got the
power armor
from them but I can already see from talking with various npcs it's going to be a pretty big time sink and I want to push on with the main story. Getting further into this storyline/quest line is just going to keep getting in the way of that. So easy for that to happen too.

Still not sure about the
Minuteman missions
either but I don't want to screw myself over by the end of the game in case I'm presented with a situation like
New Vegas where you had to have allies for final battle
. I figure I'm going have to do multiple playthroughs of this game to see the different groups and what they have to offer. Or after I finish the main storyline and play Xenoblade Chronicles X I'll just have to come back to the game and attempt to do everything then.

Nah
Im with you.
fuck power armor and settlements.

Also whoever mentioned nick knowing about mysterious stranger, thanks.
Its hilarious.
Like hes talking to me the player each time.
"He was just here I tell you!"

Happy to be done unlocking all the achievements, especially after it took so long to get the horrible settlement one! T.T

REALLLLLLY hope that Bethesda doesn't add more of those to the DLC. Might start up New Vegas next since I never got around to playing that one when it was released.

Yeah, the settlement management isn't very well done. It's interesting, but I can't say it really adds much to the game aside from extra XP quests, which alone give them value.

It could be made better in so many ways. Honestly, if there wasn't a trophy/achievement for it I wouldn't bother.
