So am I right in assuming that red text means that it's a dialogue choice that is more likely to fail?
Nope. The dialogue colour doesn't change even if your charisma is really high. Mine is is 12 and I still get red text more then I should.

I ain't got a problem with him, he's not at all my favorite companion but he's good to have on your side when the shit starts flying.
Yeah it's my favorite for sure, the way they let you go all in for the whole thing is really great.
It's supposed to, but I've never failed a red one, but seem to fail yellow and orange ones most of the time.

Game has been reletively smooth for me on xbox so far but...
Saw a UFO crashing overhead when i was downtown so I sprinted through the city trying to find where it landed, suicide bombers and rockets blowing up left and right. Man felt like the game was being brought to its knees. lol

I got a bunch of legendaries weapons, a bit under 40, but these are the only ones that I find that's actually good and/or unique
I was only going to play for half an hour, but then I by accident discovered a Federal Ration Reserve. On the plus side, I remembered I had the minigun and mowed everyone down, and I got Fat Man. On the downside, it's now 1 1/2 hours later. Also: I feel stupidly guilty taking Fusion Cores and shutting down whatever they're running. What if settlers are relying on it to pump their water or something and they all die of thirst?!

The Silver Shroud was indeed awesome, too bad you can't continue the rest of the game as the Shroud voice/dialogue, hah.
Also, I am getting close to the final few missions, but it seems like there are some major plot holes regarding the Institute.

Since you are the new leader of the Institute, why exactly do the Minutemen and The Railroad need to wipe the Institute out via mass murder/nuclear reactor explosion? Wouldn't it be better to go the peaceful route and re-work the Institute's goals from the inside to the betterment of the Commonwealth? Of course the Brotherhood would never agree to this since the only good synth is a dead one in their opinion. I am working through the Brotherhood storyline now, but I am going to go back and finish the Institute/Railroad paths. There might be some aspect of the Institute as "evil" story I haven't gotten to yet, but even then as the leader you should be able to hold off on some mass extinction plan of the surface (if there even is one, and if there isn't then the decisions by the Minutemen and Railroad seem even more irrational)

red suggests you need a lot of charisma... but it is not dynamic relative to what your charisma already is. So red doesn't mean you will fail it
Either way, get yourself a set of charisma gear

So I got a "Two Shot" legendary rifle, am I misinterpreting how it's supposed to work? It only shoots one bullet when I pull the trigger.
It only uses one bullet, but it does double the damage of a standard rifle of it's type (because it counts as 2 shots at once). I have one as well and it's OP as fuck.

Is it the one you can buy in a certain vault? Used it to end game, headshots on a crit build were insane. 1 hit kills pretty much everything.

Cant see pics, but in regards to HUD.. you can change your Pipboy and HUD color in the game settings. It also changes your flashlight color to match.
Nope not that one (though I know what you're talking about) it's just a random hunting rifle I found that had the attribute. I modded it all out with the best parts I could though and it 1-2 shots pretty much everything right now (lvl 26)

I came across this guy and tried to take him on pretty early. I think I need better gear and a few extra levels. Very cool and creepy though.
Ahh wow, ok. So is the "double damage" the damage listed on its info there, or is it actually 278?
Set him as your companion and use the talk option in the command choices and it should work.
