Captain America: Civil War Trailer #1 Debut

Half the jokes Iron Man spews out aren't actually him joking around, he clearly tries to put on a humorous attitude to cover for his anxieties. There were only a few instances I felt were overboard and unnecessary for his character in Age of Ultron, namely the prima nocta and hide the zucchini lines.

Man after watching the trailer for the 5th time I am definitely team stark. He is the hero we deserve who is going to any length to protect his team and the world

I get major Dark Knight level of quality vibes from that trailer, this looks a thousand times more interesting and enjoyable than BvS.

White fuckin' Eyes can work.

Give your head a shake, DC

Best part of the trailer for me. Don't even know much about him. Was actually about to start searching what the best Black Panther books to read. I hate just reading the wiki's these days.

Don McGregors BP stories and Priest had a great run, as was the Story with BP filling in for DareDevil.

*An intelect rivaling Tony's or the greatest MAHVEL science guys
*A vibranium suit
*Prep time that will look batman like a chump

Fucking ace. Is he near Doom level smart? Is the suit basically impenetrable short of a nuclear blast?

Any specific feats from the comics that stick out?

I was going to type up a post about how completely outclassed Cap is in a physical fight with Iron Man, even with the Winter Soldier helping him out, but then I remembered that a movie I'm looking forward to just as much as this one is called Batman vs Superman.

But seriously, in a physical fight it's not close. Iron Man can lift a utility-sized nuclear reactor over his head and fly with it, survive an atom bomb detonating close to him, has a shit-ton of lethal and non-lethal weapons, and can fly. Cap can lift about a ton and has a shield and some combat armor. In the comic Cap beats him because Vision shorted out his armor. If Iron Man straight up loses a physical fight without some kind of plot contrivance like that, it's a job of the highest order.

However, this is the same series where an Iron Man armor got blown apart like a Frogger arcade machine after getting hit by a truck, so I guess anything goes.

I was reading your post and following along just fine, but by the end, as my thoughts gestated and shifted, all I could think was:

HOLES!!!

Black Panther is basically the ace title / position in Wakanda, and thanks to some comic events that I'm not familiar with he's "King of the Dead," meaning he has
the powers, knowledge, strength, etc. of every Panther before him. Not sure if the MCU version will have that yet, though.

So Black Panthers power level is that of CA, or slightly higher yeah?

Does he have specific powers that make him a bit more distinct?

One of the best strategist and millitary minds in the marvel U
one of the best administrators not named Doom and less authoritarian
similar strength to Cap or other enhanced individuals STR way past a normal human
superhuman endurance , agility, speed and senses
access to extremely high levels of technology
Educated all across the world in the best schools
master of several martial arts
vibranium based weapons and armor that are near invulnerable save for maybe..Odin and up
genius level intellect top 10 in teh marvel U but his real skill is being able to be a student of everything and everyone.

Considering pretty much everyone in the MCU has been nerfed compared to their comic counterparts, I wouldn't expect BP to be anywhere near this list when the film comes out.

I'd expect:
Physical attributes on the same level as Cap
Tactically similar to Cap (but probably slightly lower because Cap is Cap)
Genius level intellect close to but probably lower than Tony (again because Tony is Tony)
Tech on par but not passing Tony's with higher durability due to Vibranium
Martial skill close to comic equivalent

Basically I doubt Marvel will introduce him as being blatantly superior to Cap or Tony because they're the MCU's darlings at the moment. This will, of course, carry over to how he presents himself in terms of motivations. He'll seem morally grey so audiences don't hate him but won't immediately love him like Cap or Tony.

Yeah, but I bet here Peter gets his classic Spiderman suit from Tony. That's really the only realistic way I could see a young high schooler being able to get a costume that doesn't look like it was put together in the bedroom of his aunt's house

Peter Parker is a smart guy. If Stark can build an iron man suit in cave i'm sure Parker can make a decent looking costume by himself.

As someone who's had his Marvel excitement wane since the first Avengers, I have to admit that this trailer really made me excited. It had a more grounded vibe, similar to The Winter Soldier, and I like that.

Yeah, he knows he's responsible for Ultron, and he's going to have to own up to that at some point. It's probably gonna eat him up during the movie.
I really hope so because AoU ending on a happy note soured me a bit on the movie. It felt like Ultron didn't really matter and made the film feel like filler at the end of it all.

- Deadpool (Fox Studios/Marvel Comics – February 12, 2016)
- Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (Warner Brothers/DC Comics – March 25, 2016)
- Captain America: Civil War (Marvel Studios – May 6, 2016)
- X-Men: Apocalypse (Fox Studios/Marvel Comics – May 27, 2016)
- Suicide Squad (Warner Brothers/DC Comics – August 5, 2016)
- Gambit (Fox Studios/Marvel Comics – October 7, 2016) - most likely delayed
- Doctor Strange (Marvel Studios – November 4, 2016)

2016 will be the true test for comicbook superhero genre fatigue.

Most excited for the bolded!

I gotta be honest, I came in thinking I'd be 100% on board the Cap Train, but that trailer man.. I'm thinking Team Tony now. I am sure the movie will be awesome, but really the motivation for the Civil War being Bucky and ONLY Bucky is ... tenuous at best. I mean seriously, Cap should be able to put his feelings aside, and see how it must look from the outside... this dude was a freaking assassin. It's only right that they would want to bring him in.
