Captain America: Civil War Trailer #1 Debut

would love to see the math on this

Iron Man 1, Winter Soldier, Ant Man, and Avengers 1 are all top tier. none of these films are "perfect" but you'd struggle to call any of them "bad" and there are good arguments to be had about if/whether any of them are better films than Spidey 2.

the rest of the MCU is more of a mixed bag, but the worst of them (incredible hulk) is still pretty watchable.

Wolverine fans used to HATE this one

Peter Parker cutting loose/ going apeshit > *

Sokovia Accords document reads "Framework for the Registration and Deployment of Enhanced Individuals" on the cover, which leads me to think Cap will take the moral grounds on top of just trying to keep his buddy safe.

Guardians was the best space opera since 1983, and I know that opinions are mixed on it, but I loved Iron Man 3 too. It was just different. I saw it more of a follow up to Kiss Kiss Bang Bang than to Iron Man 2. Shane Black's style of comedy is my bag.

The first pic is a different character from Jessica Jones.

and I just finished that the other day. totally slipped past me.

forgot about Guardians. that one also deserves to be up there. Legitimately good film on several fronts. Good space opera, good comedy, fantastic use of soundtrack.

Is it confirmed that Parker will be a post credit cameo?

its extremely unlikely to be a post credit cameo, from what's been reported so far. Spiderman is in the script for the film and there were two working drafts, one with him and one without in case the sony deal didn't come through.

that wouldn't be necessary for post credit stuff.

So the fact that this legislation was seemingly made as a response to the events of Age of Ultron rather than what seems to be any specific incident hinted at in this trailer, I'm going to assume that Cap might initially be on board for this but decides against this because something something Bucky.

Yep. "Sokovia" is an explicit reference to AoU, no other way to interpret that.

Keep in mind though that Thunderbolt Ross is the one pushing this and the dude is a shitstain. If any of them simply decline to sign the agreement, it's unlikely he'll just allow them to walk off and promise not to do any superheroing- They'll probably be headed to some kind of facility...or killed as seems to be the case with Barnes.

Eh, I get the sense that Cap was on board until ordered to take down/out Bucky.

edit: Woudn't be surprised if this was all a precursor to the formation of The Thunderbolts

HE wasn't ordered to take out Bucky. That's crossbones' team doing that. There is absolutely no way the two would be working together after what happened in winter soldier.

I can see cap finding out about Crossbones' death squad after agreeing and going rogue to save him though, that seems plausible.

Fair enough. Crossbones' involvement alone would probably turn him away.

There is no gap between ultimate Cap and 616 Cap. they do the exact same shit. 616 Cap is clearly superhuman and has been for decades. If you go far back enough to the first dozen or so issues of Avengers you can find him claiming he doesn't have any powers, but he's ALSO using steel shields that get pounded to scrap every other issue.

616 Cap has been retconned into a superhuman from day 1. He's stronger, faster, and more durable than it's possible for a human to be, and on top of that captain america is immortal and doesn't age.

I've read a lot of Marvel comics, Ultimate Cap jumping out of planes without a parachute and tussling with the Hulk as portrayed in Ultimates is a different power tier than regular 616 Cap had been consistenly written as having up to that point.

I totally agree both Caps have superpowers, even with the "peak human" jargon of the 616 Cap, but pre-Ultimate incarnations of Cap never quite seemed to consistenly touch the strength/durability levels of Ultimate Cap, although post Ultimates 616 Cap definitely seemed to get a power boost.

MCU Cap benefits from visually being a power tier or two above the classic "peak human" explanation, and I thought the way he was portayed in Winter Soldier was the right balance to show he was superhuman but still vulnerable.

Man I should stop looking at all these trailers before going into a movie. I get too hyped up and end up being way too excited as the movie is starting at the theater if I anticipate it too much.

The trailer definitely seems to show
them taking away Cap's shield and Falcon's flight gear.

This is 616 Cap jumping out of a helicopter 200 feet up sans parachute, onto a car, and taking off running.

This is 616 Cap taking 616 Hulk out at the knees

and straight up KOing him (with the help of an inexperienced spider man at the time)

Cap has also fought and beaten Namor multiple times, and made thunderstrike look like a joke in sparring sessions. All of that predates ultimate cap by years if not decades.

You're simply wrong here. Cap has been at the level ultimate cap was for *decades*. The problem is no one was reading his comics and assumed he was batman with a shield. He's not.

Vision should get a last name, his name looks silly right next to people with last names.

"Albert Einstein"
"Karl Marx"
"President Obama"
"Cher"

Hell, even Thor has a last name.

Yoooo, this thread blew up since I last posted yesterday, over 1000 new posts - sorry to the below replies that I missed yesterday!

They're also expensive as fuck lol but definitely worth it. Amazing craftsmanship

Agreed - if something pleases me that looks like it's worth it like these definitely do, I think it's worth a high price.

They better look good since they're $200+ each. They're Hot Toys figures.

Daaaaaaaamn.

As long as the clothing doesn't wear or tear easy, I can accept that price, because the joints being covered like that makes the figures look even more impressive to me. It really brings the whole figure together to me with the work done with the faces and costume detail.

Yeah these are the creme de la creme. Please join us at Action Figure GAF!

Will do!

A few months ago I gave away the majority of my figures to one of my best friend's son (he's practically like my own son) when I made a big move away from them. I kept a couple key personal favorite rare figures but I had a lot of first run/limited stuff, as I've always appreciated nice-looking and rare figures.
