Fighting Games Tournament: Dreams Don't Die at Dreamhack Winter 2015

With Valmaster out from DH sick it reminded me again that I still think at least one person who has qualified for Capcom Cup is going to wind up not making it due to illness, personal emergency, passport issues, etc.

Capcom will probably fly in a couple of alternates just in case.
 
If Phenom wins, won't that completely throw the order of the current bracket completely out of whack? He would have the 2nd lowest point total in Capcom Cup if he qualifies so wouldn't that change every match up compared to the mock bracket that we're using right now?

It only changes Momochi and Infiltration's matchup unless they decide to give the first 15-16 seeds to premier quals rather than just points.

It would change all of about 3 round 1 matches lol

RB it's lock to be the last player (against Momochi) cuz Phenom and Dakou have more points. Only thing that we're missing it's who will face Infiltration.
 
I think I was thinking about the things in reverse. If Phenom was somehow jumped from not being in to 2nd overall(instead of 2nd to last) that would change every match up below them...I think. Eh forget it.

that's uh... not true at all. Strong overhead and low mixup game, big damage combos, able to fish for pokes at a distance most characters can't which can lead to big damage.
 
3s Elena was insane too. But she was in a game with better options. But transfer 3s Elena into Ultra where she isn't as nerfed as the other 3s characters with her weird hit and hurtboxes and you got a monster.

compared to 3s chun? a character that does half health off the best pokes in the game into an invisible mixup where she's OFF SCREEN into the other half? oh and also she has the best kara throw in the game, so you have to press buttons to stop it. elena hits like a baby compared to her.

I never said compared to her. You said all Elena "just runs away and hope combos don't work on her." which is pretty far from the truth.
Obviously it's not the same since 3s is a shit game with more dumb shit than sf4

Humanbomb might be a fellow Chinese, but I think Dakou is more pleased with Luffy making loser finals. The guy has owned Europe for the past 5 years now. Even though Bison wins the match up I think Luffy is still the favorite over Phenom. Unless historically Phenom has done well against him(I know nothing about their match history).
 
SF4 is definitely the least bullshit of any SF, even if not everybody wants to admit it. Capcom did a pretty good job with the patching glitches and overall balance.

I mean, it's insane to compare the two to begin with. Smaller cast, different game rule set, etc etc etc etc. Do you really think if 3s had 44 characters it'd be the same disparity of abilities between chun and most of the other cast? The comparison's ridiculous.
 
Phenom lost it against Xian. He was close to take it but bad luck.

Also I do think Phenom could have won Humanbomb. But Luffy has keept the european gatekeep real.
 
Can someone explain to me why Dakou is now qualified? Phenom got 3rd at a premier event, #1 and #2 are already qualified. Shouldn't he get the spot? That's exactly how RB got his direct qualification in Milan.

which character am i more afraid of playing against? 3s chun, or usf4 elena? 3s chun, any day of the week, at (almost) every level of play.

elena is a total mess of a character in ultra but comparisons between her and top tier from Ye Olde Games are kind of a joke.
