Shit, I don't know if I'll be able to finish Xenoblade before this comes out. Could anybody tell me how far I am in the game? Spoilers ahead:
I want to jump right into XCX when I get it on Friday. I'm hyped!
I fought Egil and Zanza wrecked the Mechonis. Alcamoth is fucked and Telethia attacked Colony 6. Alvis left with Dickson. I can't check now, but there is that ship waiting for me in Colony 6 I think?.

you're almost done, like 2 areas left but depending on your level you might have some grinding to do

So I talked to customer service about me getting my order on the 10th and they said even tho I ordered it on day 1 and before it sold out, the first actual people to preorder are the ones getting it on the 4th, so she offered me to upgrade shipping options for half the shipping price to get it on monday, so I took it.

You're almost there, go for it.
You're only a few hours behind me and I plan to finish it tonight. The only thing stopping me from finishing the game right now is I need a few levels (Melia is broken enough that I'm probably fine but I wanna be sure).
Weird thing is all throughout the game I had an excess amount of quests and I had to avoid doing all of them to keep from over-leveling myself. Now I need to grind a few levels and there's no quests that aren't 85+. Won't take long to get up there, just very strange.

I think you have about 10 hours left. Less if you rush, and less further if you can handle the infamous most difficult boss in the game coming shortly. This is also assuming you do no endgame sidequesting, a ton of which just opened up to you all at once.
Damn I was warned that this happened with Bayonetta 2 as well but I remained optimistic. We shall see. I had a decent order with Amazon Germany but canceled it for this one too
You are almost close BUT the game bosses in the next areas are kind of hard if you don't go to them with the right level, strategy and mindset to confront them...
Go for it! Mostly because those are some of the best moments in the game =3

Oh man, I'm not even close to you so I'll definitely not make it until the XBX release. Currently debating pausing the Xenoblade Chronicles playthrough so I can be around for the XBX release, an opportunity I've already missed with the original. The word of mouth is that the games are "different" enough so I won't be spoiled from the new game when going back to the original, but I don't think they are different enough that I could split time between them and not get burnt out on either, especially considering how huge each of them is.

Maybe it's the pessimist I am but I feel like people are going to get this based on good reviews and dislike it. It's a very unique and hardcore game. People should really read and watch a lot to make sure it's for them. There seems to be some grind and stuff isn't clear quite a bit.
Also my Limited Edition from Best Buy still hasn't shipped. I was hoping to get it Friday. I would have done in-store pickup if that was an option.

Since this is easily overlooked if you want to extend your play time a little (20 minutes max) with the only voice acted sidequest in that game (why they decided to hide this completely out of the way I do not know, especially as it does close up a bit of the plot) you should head to
between Watchpoint Junction and Hope Farm in Colony 6

I've a friend playing Xenoblade Chronicles on Wii right now in anticipation of this game and is completely annoyed with the battle system. In my opinion he's not as hardcore as i thought he'd be, because when complains about being soo week, I asked him what kind of gems has he crafted and he's like "i didn't bother with it -_-.
He's a "let's just level up until we're a higher than said bad guy" level type of player. He doesn't like that certain attack have bonus damage based on character positioning and things of the sort. He feels like it forces him to play one way.
I, on the other hand, feel like just out leveling the baddies and spamming any and every spell for max damage isn't fun at all. I've a feeling he's not going to like x much at all.

Yeah I kinda put off the ending for the same reason. Didn't want it to end and was slightly scared of a shitty conclusion. Then the ending happened. :')

You've already seen all the best the game has to offer. You're not quite out of the woods yet and the final set of bosses are a chore if you're not prepared.

Talked to Amazon customer service rep regarding the Xenoblade Collectors Special Edition, this is the best I could get:
Jessica: I checked the order and I can see here that the reason why the delivery date of your order is on the 7th, the item is Currently unavailable on our website wherein we cannot obtain the delivery of the item.
Also, upon seeing here, the delivery date was moved to a early date which was originally from December 8 to December 7.

I've heard lvl 77 is the minimum to beat the last boss. I haven't beaten it myself - I'm a bit further behind you, which is why I was asking.

Since you've already gone through pretty much the whole game, you can skip the tedious grinding process and simply watch the ending on YouTube. Then you can lie to everyone and say you actually beat the game, just like I did.
