Xenoblade Chronicles X - Review Thread

If it is, how did they review Animal Crossing???

Wait until Saturday night, go to K.K. Slider and watch the credits... It counts like beating it!

And it's difficult to take seriously when they made her very little heading to war, especially when it's an optional costume.

I actually did laugh how it seemed like they went out of their way to give her fanservicey outfits for the trailer.

Has anyone had their LE ship from Amazon (US) yet? I know a few other people are seeing the 8th like me.

I contacted them about it Monday and got the usual response.

Same for me. Which is fine, because the new TV I'm getting is coming around the same time. It'll allow me to setup everything to get the best experience.

I never understood people wanting to rush through a game they're currently enjoying just because another game is releasing soon.

Like, what's the benefit of starting to play a mainly single player game like XBX day 1? It's not like the quality gonna go down noticably(if at all) a month later.

I'm definitely not rushing through the game, first of all. I've played a lot in a short period of time, but I'm taking my time. In terms of benefits, for me I find value in being part of the buzz as a game is being released, even if it's single-player. There's always an abundance of good games to play, so the question I'm asking myself is "which game I want to play right now?", and also "how much do I value being part of the group of people who're playing and talking about this as it comes out?" and "how much value will I lose by leaving XC for a while and then come back later?" The value of a game, to me, is more than the subjective quality of the content. It's about timing; playing the right game at the right time.

That said, I'm leaning towards playing some more Xenoblade Chronicles and then jumping into X a bit later. X looks to be a bit more complex in terms of combat and the game systems overall, so having a good amount of hours in the Wii-game could perhaps be advantageous.

Xenoblade Chronicles X - Launch Trailer

Nintendo of Europe really has been on point with the trailers for this game but NoA had those amazing Survival Guides.

EDIT: Oh yeah, may contain spoilers so watch at your own discretion =P

Holy damn... that was amazing.

Maybe it's because I had zero knowledge context for what was going on so I didn't find it to be too spoilery at all. Well, other than the very last little scene. That one felt like a big plot hook tease though.

C'mon Friday!

I have been watching a lot, and even if I just bought Witcher 3 and Shadow of Mordor, plus the backlog I have on Wii U, even with a purchase of Captain Toad, if I find the money I will get this, I heard even if it is massive, that it is built for quick sessions, so that is great to hear. The world, monsters and skells are just too much to let it pass.

I think I will play this one first and then the Wii one, hopefully thay bring it to the Wii U eshop.

Pre-ordered five months ago, Amazon.ca telling me the estimated date of arrival is Dec 11- Dec 18.

Oh well, guess that'll give me time to finish New 'n' Tasty and The Journeyman Project: Pegasus Prime.

Was the gonintendo review posted? I know RMC isn't a big RPG player but in some respects that what makes part of the review interesting. They found themselves able to understand the battle system pretty quickly and found the in-game tutorials helpful as well.

I'm still puzzled how amazon.fr doesn't have any XBX stock. Was it selling that well?
LE RRP of €70 being sold for €51.90 and shipping internationally lead to many people jumping on that. Considering in the UK same limited edition is £60 (because only GAME and Nintendo UK store are being given any stock, it seems all limited editions without an amiibo are like this) a lot of UK people jumped on being able to get for what turned out to be £37 once shipping was added.

I'm not sure what happened to the regular game though.

Why would Nintendo have a Splatfest on this game`s launch

Why
It should have been last week but they changed the splatfest schedule for some reason (I think they are trying to cut down of splatfests in general by making the wait between each longer).

Also not all Nintendo does this. Nintendo of Europe have no Splatfest announced. It being NOE they might also not have one next week and just leave Europe and entire Splatfest behind. Europe really are the third wheel when it comes to Splatfests as they had a really good Halloween Splatfest theme but oh no serves can't handle three Splatfests at once and Japan's Love vs. Money has priority over your Ghosts vs. Zombies; that can take place on 7th November.

I really wonder if Derek from GameXplain is exaggerating how much the characters develop when you do the sidequests as opposed to many reviews claiming a "thin story" who perhaps didn't take them on.

It doesn't have to either or and of course different tastes and different opinions.

Has there been anyone that said the story and characters are weak even doing all the sidequests???

I have a feeling I will be less picky than many people more hardcore into narratives and probably enjoy the story more than some are.

I love RMC, but I feel like his reviews all say a lot, without actually saying anything.

Has he ever given a firstparty Nintendo game a bad review?

An ambiguous message.

One can read it that he's tired of the game but he has to conintue playing to finsh the story because of his profession...

Or that the game is so big and there's so much stuff he still wants to do but he has to focus on completing the story and skip a bunch of stuff.

I fear it's the first one. >.>

Apologies for my ambiguous Twitter post. I'm here to say that I'm enjoying Xenoblade. Our review will be posted this week. That is all. :)

Holy shit I just got my copy, they're readily available at Media Markt here in Germany. Looks like I'll have to cancel my Amazon preorder then. I want to kick myself for not finishing Xenoblade in time for this!

Neogaf shitstorm prevented, just kidding :D.

Anyway loooving the game so far. Consant tease of Skells annoys me though (knowing that it will take forever to get one).

But this one is just the worst, the launch of one of their biggest games. I'm playing Xenoblade that day, but people are nuts for Splatoon.

True, thankfully I'm burned out on splatfests. I rarely use the snails and Turf War is boring compared to Rainmaker and Splat Zones.

Simplygames order shipped this morning - but guessing probably not here until Friday. Would of loved to play the game tomorrow, but heres hoping for a Xeno filled weekend.

Regret watching the launch trailers - too much footage there I hadn't seen before in any of the reviews > <

The launch trailer is cool and I didn't consider it spoilery until the very...very end when you think it's over. It did show a few more alien races and proved that I have seen very little of this game.

That's with standard free shipping. If you have prime, go to order details, and change shipping speed on Xenoblade X to FREE 2 -day. If you don't have Prime, and you're a student, sign up for Amazon student (which is Prime), cancel auto-renew so you don't get charged next year, and then talk to a representative about the Free 2-day shipping.

I ordered in June, after E3, and I signed up for Student later so I wasn't able to apply free 2-day shipping to the order. I talked to a rep with online chat and they changed it for me. Instead of shipping December 11-18, now it says Dec 4th by 8pm.

Yeah, I'm not buying it just for XBX. I really want to check out Super Mario 3D World, Super Mario Maker, Bayonetta 2, SMM, and MK8. I haven't owned a Nintendo console since the GC so it'd be a nice change.

You also have the Wii library to play, games like Mario Galaxy 1-2, Skyward Sword, Xenoblade Chronicles (The game that Monolith did be fore XCX), but it's a little hard to find, and may have to pay above premium on it, but it worth it.

Plus check out the best Wii U game: Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, and the other best Wii U game Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker, and don't forget about Pikmin 3.

Xenoblade is looking good according to the reviews, so, it maybe worth it.

The Wii U is great system ... for people who didn't buy it day one ... like me ...

You guys should check out the giantbomb.com quick look for this game. I'm sure its old and been posted by now, but its really good.. and funny of course.
