If I'm Sony, I'm calling up Kojima and throwing as much money at him as possible to make a PS4-exclusive game and appear at PSX. Such a move would be more epic than Last Guardian, FFVII Remake, and Shenmue 3 COMBINED.

So is there like a main presentation or are there just smaller ones? I think during the Game Awards that Keighley said Saturday morning? When?

Well, at least they are with Kojima

But Konami's lawyers...

Different things though, one thing is to go on stage to receive an award for a Konami game, the other is to announce what's next for himself which depends on the non competing clause in his contact.
I think it's too soon for him to talk about that anyway.

I would imagine his no compete clause is still in effect.

Wondering if something will leak today like Street Fighter V leaked last year.

After PGW, they'll also have to make sure to hide anyone that may give away an announcement. People knew that something for Gran Turismo was coming when someone spotted Kaz at the event.

E3 is probably the earliest we can expect to see him.

money shmunny, if he's not allowed to get a plane to the TGAs, he's definitely not allowed to talk business with other studios.

I'm still hoping for a console port of Marvel Heroes.
C'mon Marvel, get back into the non-mobile gaming world! I need mah superhero games.

Which expire this december iirc

Well that's not bad but it fucking ducks he missed out on getting that award from Luke himself.

Brothers, I am hyped.

I need to see more No Man's Sky and I need confirmation it's going to be a showcase for PSVR. Yes please.

Also let's have a showing of Wipeout.

You too?

I dunno, logically it doesn't make any sense. The quality of the the Game Awards has absolutely no bearing on the quality of PSX, but I just can't shake the feeling of "meh."

Lol. Exactly how I feel. Im sure the hype around the event on the day of will restore my hype for the conference though

Used to be much different some years back. TGA's have gotten less and less 'big' and reveal-worthy over the years, starting with VGX 2013.

Exactly.

Did PSX disappoint you last year? Because what we're going through right now is pretty much the same cycle as last year.

A little bit. Lot of small announcements, nice ones sure, but nothing as huge as E3 announcements (and ending the show with Drawn to Death ? Meh).

Are we having an official topic for it? Thanks to gaf and twitter, my hype is at an all time low. :( If there was a hype train, mine would have fallen off a cliff and exploded leaving nothing behind. The two announcements I was actually looking for look likely not to show up.

I don't know about being overly hyped for PSX, but I like to look at Sony's conferences from the perspective of how they've laid out their announcements over the past year.

IMO, if we look purely from a content perspective (disregard stuff like poor pacing, reveal methodology, etc), for every conference thus far, I think 2015 > 2014, comparing the same equivalents. (this year's E3 > last year's, PGW > last year's GC, etc)

Something like Bound would've been part of Sony's PSX conference last year. But this year they chose to take it out of the conference and have it randomly dropped in a blog post.

Does that mean Sony's PSX will be filled with balls-to-the-wall-better-than-Bound-reveal- new-stuff? Hell no. Surely we'll see some non-exclusive indies reveals, we'll see Sony's 3rd-party partners like Battlefront, Destiny and CoD.

But I expect Sony's 1st-party content this year to be stronger than last year's PSX, just as how this year's 1st-party announcements at the respective shows is better than 2014's equivalent.

My expectation is that PSX this year will be better than last year's. By how much? Who knows. I liked last year's conference. I don't need a lot of megatons.

So true. I remember a lot of gamers didn't like the VGAs because there was too much ads, too much people who don't give a fuck about video games etc.

Yeah but at the VGAs we had the announcements of Uncharted 2/3 and The Last of Us, The Phantom Pain and other huge games. What did we had this year ? A Rocket League port on Xbox One ? An another Walking Dead game by Telltale ? (but on the other hand, the show itself was much better of course, lot of respect for the industrie, and that's very good, kudos to Geoff for this). But I'd rather have no World Premiere that what we got last night. Don't hype people for practically nothing Geoff.
