Official statement from the blog:

We are getting things started with a bang by launching with eight fan favorites tomorrow:
Dark Cloud — $14.99
Grand Theft Auto III — $14.99
Grand Theft Auto: Vice City — $14.99
Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas — $14.99
Rogue Galaxy — $14.99
The Mark of Kri — $14.99
Twisted Metal: Black — $9.99
War of the Monsters — $9.99

Having these titles available on PS4 is already incredibly exciting for us, but we did not stop there. We have brought these titles forward to meet today’s gaming standards by adding Trophy support! Each title’s Trophy set has been carefully developed in conjunction with feedback from the original creators to be sure that they capture the spirit and feeling of each game.

Also, you will be able to experience all of these PS2 games like never before — in up-rendered 1080p with the features you expect from a PS4 game including Remote Play, Live Broadcast, Share Play, Activity Feeds, and Second Screen support for game manuals with PlayStation Vita or PlayStation App.

And if you’re attending PlayStation Experience in San Francisco this weekend, you’ll be able to play these PS2 games on PS4 at the show floor:
Dark Cloud
Grand Theft Auto: Vice City
Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas
PaRappa the Rapper 2 (coming soon)
Rogue Galaxy
The King of Fighters 2000 (coming soon)
The Mark of Kri
War of the Monsters

Never played Parappa the Rapper 2. I'd bite in an instant for the right price.

Edit - 15 dollars? That's a little more than I was expecting.

GOOD SHIT

I remember seeing copies of Rogue Galaxy on clearance as recently as early 2010 in toys-r-us while looking for new transformers and in retrospect I regret not snatching one up. Was roughly the same price + physical too.

What's left for PSX!?

Remember before E3 when FO4 and Nathan Drake Collection and the like were announced, and we were going, "What's left for E3?"

"PS2 Classics and PS2-formatted discs are incompatible with the PS4 system." :(

Still, that much is no surprise and it's good that we're getting some confirmations now.

This isn't the same as BC. These games are uprezzed and stuff.

I'm okay with this.

At this point I just wish Sony had an upgrade feature like NIntendo does from Wii to Wii U VC. I'll pay $3 to $5 to upgrade stuff like God Hand and Persona 3 FES to have full trophy support and proper emulation.

Remastered Vice City and San Andreas with trophies? Fuck it don't care, I'm buying.

Now I wonder if they're going to strip the soundtracks like they did for the 360 and mobile re-releases of San Andreas and Vice City?

The games should carry a $10 regular price and then they could do PSN sales a few times a year to bring it down to as low as $3-$5. I'd be fine with that.

Still so disappointed in this.

Also, King of Fighters 2000? What? Who cares about that? If you're going to bring back a KOF, you bring back '98 or '02.

I like rogue galaxy but not enough to pay that much. Hope the next round of games is better.

It's not BC. It's like mini-remakes. BC wouldn't include trophy support.

I know, but I guess it is official now. I saw lots of comments in the other thread telling people to not assume anything until it is official.

KOF 2000 ?!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA !!!!!?!?!?!?!?

Is that 60fps 1080p GTA or its usual 20fps PS2 version?

I imagine if it's like the Bounty Hunter improvements, it'll be 1080/30 locked

Also, interesting thought here: I wonder if FFXII is going to hit PS2 on PS4 instead of a remaster?

It is closer to BC to be fair. They're emulated games with trophies and hardware features added. Still nice to have, though.

I'm okay with this.

It's probably not much different the a 2x native upscale in PCSX2 with Trophy Support more or less. Trophies are probably triggered by scanning the runtime of the ISO for various values in the memory address that triggers and when one of the numbers is confirmed the trophy pops.

Makes sense I suppose.

Hi, I'm nortonff. I spend my life going into threads to say that I don't care about the topic of the thread. It's a really good use of my time.
All I want is God of War 1 and 2. Never played them.

I'll buy San Andreas again for like the 6th time and I don't even give a fuck.

Might check out Rogue Galaxy too though my little brother had it back in the day and said its kinda boring and grindy iirc.

I think I crafted every weapon and got it to max level in Rogue Galaxy. I don't know if I could do that again.

Maybe Dark Cloud but I'd really prefer the sequel.
