Koji Igarashi Kickstarts Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night (2.5D, backdash, 2018)

second feels more castlevania, but I would still prefer the first, so far it is winning my vote. Just dont like the desaturation, the first brings out the stained glass motif I was envisioning.

You can give them that feedback directly via a Google form that's in the update. I already did.

Based on how it looks, I'm glad I didn't back it, I know it's in development, but I doubt it will look any better, the game play will probably be meh at best as Inti Creates is a mediocre developer.

I'd love to be wrong as Castlevania is a series I adore.

You are judging a game based on a shader prototype. :/

That boob presence is too much, though. I am also on #TeamShowLessBoob.

Seems consistent with most of her official art. Plus then you either obscure the tattoo or shrink it and I'd be opposed to that. Her outfit might be a bit busy but I really like her design. I'm more interested in making sure they nail her personality and character.

It's tough because both have their ups and downs, I don't like the red filter in #1, and I wish #2 had more color.

And man do I still not like Miriam's design.

-and why tiny head

I like the first shader quite a bit more, gives everything a lot more pop and makes the different environmental objects like the box look more obvious that they can be interacted with. The second one looks desaturated to the point that it looks drab by comparison. It just doesn't look colorful, and I was looking for a colorful game in the vein of the IGAvanias.

Can I just say I don't like the breast tattoo at all? Or anything regarding that revealing aspect of the clothing. Not the fact that it's revealing, necessarily, but just how it looks in general.

As for the shaders, I preferred 1 at first. But then I took a liking to 2. Then I liked 1 again.

I think 1 is too rose-y and 2 is a bit too vibrant. I think I prefer 1 but they could tone it down a bit.

I guess I need to go back and reread the update. I didn't realize that this was an either or thing, and thought it was just them showing off the development of 2 different shaders that will just be part of the game.

I keep waffling back and forth. Shader 2 is just so pale and less vibrant. I like Miriam from Shader 1 and the backgrounds from Shader 2, I think.

Exactly...my biggest issue with Shader 2 is the fact Miriam looks so pale like an undead.

But the darker backgrounds in Shader 2 seem to fit the Gothic Horror environment.

So if they could use the more flesh color toned Miriam from Shader 1 and the backgrounds from Shader 2 it would a happy medium.

First one is much better imo. Not super impressive, but much better.

I can see it looking quite lovely (especially her model) with some heavy downsampling. Second one I have more issues with the artistic part, so no downsampling could convince me on it.

Can't wait to see the other two.

Her clothes seem to have more volume because of the way light and shadows work on #2 though. That should probably be on their minds if they go with 1.

I actually think it would look kinda neat with the stained glass a bit obscured. Not by another plate crap though, that already looks bad as it is, let alone adding another one. Just pull up her boob thing and cover like a little bit less than half her tattoo.

I feel like it would make it more like part of her, rather than "this is an important element of this character's design".

Everyone knows alt costumes are always the best anyway, so whatever.

I want this game so much

Can I go to sleep tonight and wake up when it's released?

Alright, I missed the info that they are going to show 2 different shaders later this month too. I am interested to see how those look.

*looks at Inti Creates development history*

*Sees Mega man zero*

Wat?...

Yeah, Inti Creates has a really strong development history. I'm sure they can put out a really solid title.

Shader #1 has much better colors, I think.

I like some stuff better in the second shader (particularly those kind of lines or folds in the shadowing of the walls, and the colors) and some better in the first (the lighting itself, feels more rounded). Hopefully they can mix the best elements of each.

In the official art she shows upper chest but not so much the actual boob. In the game you see practically the upper half almost to the nipple. It is not exactly like the art. Also they made her tits huge!

I'll wait the other two before I give my opinion.

From these two, I like the first one, but it looks too shiny.

But none of them are really good enough for me.

I also need to see the other two but more than anything we need to see these in motion to properly cast an opinion.

Not a big fan of the background there since it looks rather cheap but I'm sure this isn't at all representative of the final product so I don't care for now.

Nail Miriam's design, though, please.

Somebody here said they were getting help from guilty gear's team. Is that true or just wishful thinking?
