Does the Empire re-write/delete history?

I know its because of the way they were written and the order they came out, but in the movies themselves, nobody has a clue what happened years ago. And you would think these were historic events.

Luke has no idea what happened in the pre-quels.

It seems Finn and Rey have no Idea what happened in the OT.

I remember something weird in the Attack of the Clones or Revenge of the Sith book I believe, where people were watching Anakin and Obi on Televisions/public screens while they were on a mission, implying they were superstars/celebrities.

This is actually touched upon in the new Lost Stars novel. It's the story of two characters that grow up under Imperial rule and go through the Academy and we get to see just how much of history is being re-written by the Empire.

The Battle of Geonosis is called "a terrorist" attack led by "radical" Jedi Mace Windu, and it was his fault the Clone Wars started, a mess that dear-Emperor Palpatine cleaned up.

Plagueis being a Munn is old EU. Technically in canon all we know of Plagueis is that one line from ROTS. The Plagueis crazies can cling on to the dream no matter what he looks like really.
Maybe he was a Whill.

I am not sure i want any Sith in these new films. I would like to know more about Snoke. But why do fans think Darth Plagueis is so special? He was mentioned like once in the films, he is dead actually. His remains where in a Urn in Sheevs office. Was he the Devil incarnate?

I hope this Darth Plagueis thing disappears once this movie is out.

I understand that he is a fan favorite and apparently some epic badass, but it seems like its a last grasp effort to hold on to some part of the old EU.

I never read the book, so I have no stock in the fight at all, but people are so wrapped up in it, that if he isn't plagueis some fans are going to flip shit.

From what I remember of the book Plagueis is hardly a bad-ass. He is more like a savy businessman. Anyway the book title is pretty mis-leading, its really about the rise of Palpatine and Plaguies is a pretty small player in it considering the title.

I wonder if Lucas' treatment for 7 will ever leak. It would be cool to compare the actual movie to what he had.

A lot of people don't want that to happen simply because there are those who will consider it the definitive version and the actual film will be dismissed as fan fiction.

Out of curiosity, I want to read it.

Palpatine thinks Plagueis is dead but the concept of a Sith who somehow managed to defeat death is a very tempting one. Especially since Palpatine himself seems to waffle a bit, telling Anakin after he kills Mace "To cheat death is a power only one has achieved, but if we work together, I'm sure we can discover the secret."

Having Plagueis be the big bad for the ST would help tie all the trilogies together, because who can be a more serious opponent to Luke (or the new heroes) then the master of space Satan himself, Palpatine? But it seems that JJ wants to go in a new direction, which will be fine if it's executed well.

The way everyone talks about him, I always assumed it was the exact opposite.

Sidenote: WHERE THE FUCK IS THAT SOUNDTRACK LEAK!

There must some lore on him, I am sure I am unaware of. But weirdly that is how is portrayed in that particular novel. Maybe he is pretty old by the time of novel and his ass-kicking days are over.

This excerpt from the Plagueis book is a good example of their personalities:

"Theed is a beautiful city," Plagueis remarked as they emerged from a narrow lane into the Palace Plaza.
"If you like museums," Palpatine said offhandedly.
"You've no interest in art?"
Palpatine looked at him sideways. "I enjoy art. But I'm more of a minimalist."

So when are we going to see some concrete spoilers on this movie? Next Thursday night around... 10pm? Are there any screenings, premieres before then?
I'm sure people here will see it before me, but around 2:30am West Australian time on the 17th I'll be happy to tell all.

From the people who brought you trade federations.

And yet people want Plagueis so badly.

What happened with the Snoke upload?

From what I understand, the strange, weird, old and outdated gaming-side rule about magazine scans on NeoGAF is causing cold feet?

Then again, putting it on blast that he's 100% the source of whatever image shows up is probably not a great idea, either, if it could get him in trouble.

Freezasaurus is Snoke. He's gone into hiding to not reveal his secret
that he is Darth Plagueis.

What's wrong with erudite, worldly villains? That what Dooku should/could have been.

It's not that it's bad dialogue, it's more that it's the wrong dialogue for Star Wars movies.

Have him make a burner Reddit account and post it there.

What happened with the Snoke upload?

Freezasaurus sent me a PM this morning saying he took a photo and was wondering how to post it here. He also said he may wait until this evening to post it on the Star Wars LINE chat (not sure what that is).

I apologize to Freezasaurus for jumping the gun and posting this info. I geeked out and got excited. But I don't believe he is bullshitting either.

He probably doesn't even remember that "The Whills" were ever a thing.

I'd doubt that. In the script of RotS, Yoda originally tells Obi-Wan that Qui-Gon achieved life after death because he learned it from "a shaman of the Whills".

I think he just didn't want to commit to the Force priestesses in TCW being Whills, so it's never come up again.

Not quite. There are a few lines about him in the Tarkin novel. It's confirmed he was Palps master etc but his race is left out.
