Is there always this much drama in the Star Wars community?
The drama nearly always involves the same people.

Man, "Supreme Leader Snoke" is a really hideously bad name. Like, Darth Icky or Darth Insanius levels of bad. I am finding it really difficult to get past how much I hate that name.
I DM'ed him on Twitter and he said it wasn't the Snoke thing. It sounds like it was the drama of Disney abusing DMCA to shut down images of the Rey figure that Star Wars Action News bought at Walmart and then posted on Facebook.

Jason Ward is definitely salty about something. He was made aware of the DP call sheet leak and acknowledged it was similar to what they received, but never made reference to it on everything.

The figure was obviously breaking street date making it an illegal sale by the retailer. I get being annoyed with having to take it down, being allowed to put it back up, then having to take it down again. But that's just being over dramatic.
All this drama is stupid.
Well, yeah. But the retailer broke the street date, not the person who bought the figure. Corporations get so bent-out-of-shape when people learn secrets.
People were actively bitching because Disney "Doesn't know how to market star wars, and because we are fans We DESERVE to have more footage, etc, etc"
All this drama is stupid.
The snoke stuff I can sort of understand, but it just seems weird for it to be over the figure pictures.
Which brings me to Star Wars Unity. I put that site up around the 2nd of December as if I wasnt going to focus on Furious Fanboys anymore (due to the change in ownership, pay, etc.) I wanted to have a new site I would be able to control. It went well, and got big very fast. But I learned last night that it angered some very large entities, which I never intended to do.
Due to those people being upset, and my being involved with Now This is Podcasting!, it caused some stress for my friend Jason. To avoid any problems for him, I told him I would step away from the podcast. Then to avoid any major problems for me I decided to delete Star Wars Unity and walk away from that sort of site.
Vibe feels all salty in here, a day after the thread leaked one of the biggest fucking mysteries in the movie. Does this shit happen with Trekkies?
Call sheet edits happen often throughout the production of a film like this that does principal filming for so long in so many locations. They also don't include pickup and reshoot stuff. So it's say to say these are likely earlier versions of call sheets.
I'm certain the short presence of Luke will be one of this movies most discussed and criticized points. not sure I'd call it entitlement, though. personally, I am glad I got spoiled about that, I would probably have been excited to see him all the time and left the movie a bit disappointed about that.
There was no additional reshoots on this film. Once it wrapped principal that was it.
Going theory is that they've got a somewhat automated process at play and for whatever reason it binged this picture (which isn't a leaked photo, or copyright infringement in any way) twice even after the process was actually interrupted by real human beings using their eyes and their brains to assess what was going on.

Oh, c'mon. It's nowhere near as bad as Darth Insanius.
It is, but at the same time, Disney tossing DMCA's around like candy doesn't help, either. They're alienating their biggest source of income by doing this. People who are excited and passionate about Star Wars and willing to spend money on all this shit that Disney is putting out at retail.
The other thing I can see irking people is how the 3 mains from the OT- Han, Luke and Leia- basically don't have much screen time together, or at the very least, Luke is basically left sequel bait last scene of the movie. I know they didn't really technically have a ton of scenes all together in the OT but it seems like a bit of a cheat hyping this movie up so much on the fact that its kind of getting the band back together again, except we'll be killing off one band member before they reunite.
Right.
This DMCA conquest they are on right now is insane and I agree with you.
But at the same time, That figure is a major epic spoiler. So I can kinda understand why Disney is issuing DMCA's.
One site (may have Ars or Business Insider) did an article on it and they brought up the fact that it's actually against DMCA to make a false copyright claim. Ars had a guy from the EFF who said that while Disney does own the copyright on the image of the figure, as the picture was taken by a fan of something they bought (he even posted the Walmart receipt for proof) it falls under fair use and thus Disney can't claim copyright on the photo.
oh God, I heard that name mentioned in an article somewhere along with a couple others that were just as atrocious.
I don't like the whole kylo was abducted plot. All the redemption points brought up would have lesser issues if kylo isn't a Skywalker. Imo he is better off being some war orphen rescued by SL.Snoke.
The Skywalker story ended with the OT, balance was brought back to the force, no need to retread the same old. You will only be turning the skywalker bloodline into a cursed story. Im afraid JJ is just TOO faithful to recreate the OT magic and goes about doing familiar things...
I think I remember reading a couple like it in this piece on that canceled Darth Maul game, where they went to Lucas for naming advice and the ones he gave them were just...

They were jokes, actually.
He was fucking with them.
That's.....good to know, but it's hard to tell with Lucas sometimes.
elan sleazebaggano will always be the WOAT star wars name

"Snoke" sounds like he'd be great friends with some wacky alien sidekick like Jar-Jar, not some successor to Palpatine.

He was fucking with them.
Guess what? They are BFF's. It's true.
Get ready guys, meesa comin'!
It's Fake, relax
Source? I don't think that's confirmed at all.
David W. Collins and another game dev confirmed it on a twitch game-dev livestream/commentary of Force Unleashed within the last month.
You know where this might be? It sounds interesting.

Few things I would love more than a canon Sith lord Jar Jar.
If only yousa knew da' powah ah da dark side! Yousa be real bombad!
I was surprised to learn that this is actually a thing. /r/DarthJarJar
oh man, that's hysterical.
There are literally people on Reddit who don't realize it was a joke and legitimately think there is a chance it will become a thing in the new trilogy.
I'm a dark side fan. I hate the good guys. I have no desire for him to become good. I just think it's pointless character development to make him Han's son if his character development involves going from Dark Side Bad Guy to Dark Side Bad Guy. And I guarantee Adam Driver would hate that. I'm not saying he becomes a Jedi. I think he will become more Grey.
