Somebody asked NickRob if he was joking about the midichlorians tweet and he posted a youtube link to RKelly's I Wish
Because he's still screwing with people. It was obviously a joke about TPM and JJ just a couple of days ago said he basically wished midichlorians weren't a thing and that they wouldn't be mentioned in the film.
And has anyone else watched the prequels in up scaled 4K yet? Other than Episode III the CGI is really jarring.
Great first line.

Well the tweet doesn't say they mention midichlorians by name, its just that the explanation given on what the force is tried to push it back towards the mysterious and grand but it just didn't work for him.
Ah good call I think I misread it. Either way I doubt they try to wipe it away. It's a canon thing. It's not going anywhere.

I feel like as long as I walk out of the cinema with a smile and looking forward to seeing it again in 48 hours I'll be happy with it. Don't know if it'll surpass TESB, don't really care though as they can both be awesome. Kinda surprised no-one so far, that i'm aware of, has mentioned any conveniences in the plot or the Great Poe Escape Question. Which has plausible explanations anyway.

Luke is only in the final scene at the skellig michael location. This has been known for a while.

Haven't we known that in Ep VII she's more Boba Fett than anything else though?
She's the leader of the First Order's stormtroopers though. Since they can fight she's obviously doing her job.
Edit: As long as she doesn't get Sarlacc Pit'd, i'll be fine. If she has to go out it'd be cool if it was in some Darksaber vs Lightsaber fight. Just so she could make a remark about naming swords or something.

It seems to largely be right...based on the shot list we've known about for months. It's not very well written, and doesn't articulate the points in enough detail. My assumption, reading that, is someone just expanded upon the shot list with speculation. The broad strokes are about right, but things like specific dialogue seem BS, though probably close to what is real.
To be fair ... I'm not expecting a great movie. I'm expecting a fun movie and this movie looks to deliver just that.
If you are able to survive watching The Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones and (the okay'ish) Revenge of the Sith you'll survive this one.
Usually those people who are disappointed are ... well, disappointed because the thing they WANTED the most didn't happen. I'm prediciting a solid 75~80%. 90% of the "reviews" that came out are positive. So I really dont understand why people are overreacting to this.
I'm not even looking at the Pastebin crap. That stuff has been known for months. Again, there's NOTHING new on there. All that stuff was known. Grab together all rumors and try and mold it into a big-cluster fuck of a story and your done.

I don't think better than the prequels is good enough. I was telling friends this, I don't want the film to be consistently quoted as "well..it's better than the prequels anyway"
What parts are you annoyed at?
Read the spoiler board in the OP for what is largely correct. It's based on a shot list that was released months ago, and everything officially released since then supports it.

I mean if they make the effort to change the appearance somewhat of a character, 3PO and not explain it, why? Surely they know people will see these things and wonder the reasoning behind it. Even a quick sentence wouldn't of gone amiss. Strikes me as lazy.
Okay, I have not read ANYTHING in this thread and I don't think I have been spoilered much about the movie, so I know this is a minefield and I'm gonna look away from anything that doesn't quote my post. But I got a question, I did get spoilered once here on gaf and that spoiler is:

I enjoy all six films. The key word being enjoy. Star Wars shouldn't be too heavy on the dialogue. Try and place yourself in J.J's shoes though. He has to make a worthy sequel. He had little to no-outline and had to discuss this with everyone who Star Wars could continue.
Nothing will EVER beat 4-5-6 just because they are nostalgic as fuck. That feeling when I saw 4-5-6 in 1990 on VHS (yes, I'm not that old lol) was incredible. Nothing will ever top that for me.
It's great that people want to compare this movie to the OT but they really shouldn't. If you go in overhyped ... you'll get disappointed because;
A) You read somewhere that Luke will fight
or
B) You read somewhere that Luke will go to the Dark-Side
If neither of those happen you will be disappointed when you leave the movie. Why? Because you HYPED yourself and WANTED it to happen. I'll be seeing this movie in a little more than 24 hours and I can't wait. People tend to forget that this is part of a new goddamn trilogy. Things don't NEED to be explained in this movie. They've got 3 movies for that. Three movies to tell a story and explain what happened 30 years prior to the Force Awakens.
How I hype myself? It's another Star Wars movie. After 10 years. Hell, after 30 years with the OT cast. That's good enough for me
Stuff like that is world-building, you don't need to explain random things like that. Besides, you know there will be material that delves into every little thing, there always is with Star Wars.
Explaining all the little details and motivations is what bogs movies like this down.
That doesn't happen. Maybe in episode 8 but you can't make that happen in this one movie.

Because she has more potential than Kylo? Same could go for Luke cutting of Vader's arm in a rage.
Did Luke train with Yoda? No. He got his ass handed to him in ESB but managed to overthrow Vader. You'd think that the most powerful Jedi/Sith in history wouldn't allow himself to be overpowered so easily. But, then again ... he was pretty messed up emotion wise.
Oh, so she's not gonna become a Jedi in The Force Awakens, and just wears the lightsaber. Hopefully she gets one fight with it.
