John Boyega and Lupita Nyong'o are both happy with the roles they have in the movie.

Of course they are , but the question is are they really.

No one will ever know.

That would be a completely stupid thing to draw out.

Then you have not seen the OT. An how that panned out .

Edit: It isn't like Vader/Luke, it was literally the first thought in most people's head.

Of course but that's how this works.

The situations aren't even close to the same.

There was absolutely no expectation that Vader was related to Luke or Leia.

The pretty much first thought with Rey is Skywalker or Solo.

I said it before. But I really love the fact that Rian Johnson gets to do whatever he wants with the characters. It's good that so much isn't set in stone by the end of the film. I fully expected her to be outed as Luke's daughter as well, but honestly I'm happy that that isn't the case.

Can't change that can we?

But we are at a cross roads. Given you now seem not to be into the movie now because Rey is not a Skywalker right off the bat, especially given. The knowledge before hand that she doesn't know her parentage. So rather or not it happens now or later. You most likely will be disappointed.

Seems like a very strange out look. An i'm the guy butt hurt over Finn (right now) and Rey is the main hero and is on her journey of discovery.

I'm fine accepting Finn is not the main character (I mean, it's Hollywood we're talking about), I just hope he is at least the main supporting character.

Will have to wait for more impressions.

He is a main character though but in the same way Han and Leia are. Though we will see in the next two films how that shapes. Will be interesting to see where Rian takes this.

lol, someone changed the opening line of the wikipedia page to this:

Star Wars: The Force Awakens is a 2015 American epic space opera and glib facsimile film directed, co-produced, and co-written by J. J. Abrams.

They should have opened with Episode IX and gone backwards so we had all the answers and big heroic moments up front.

People can't wait.

So as this is the spoiler thread I guess I can just splooge all over. If you haven't seen the movie yet you should probably get the fuck out of this thread like right now.

Mmm it was good. Rey discovering her force connection through Vaders lightsaber and the visions that followed was just one of many awesome sequences that have been etched into my mind. I'm glad I booked those tickets 13h ago... I'm thinking of booking another viewing.

EDIT: I'm only disappointed by one thing. The main bad guy has a dumb name. It's actually so dumb that I've already forgotten it. I'm bilingual with Swedish and English though so that might affect it.

Kylo Who?

So many questions!

Rey's force vision, it was the future right? Luke putting hand on R2 and Knights of Ren attacking? Or was it the past of Jedi being slaughtered by Knights of Ren?

Where did Luke train jedi? How many? What really happened? How could Kylo kill the jedi?

Rey related to Skywalkers? So strong in force... I don't remember all the lines but I got the related to Luke feels. Then again the lines of family not coming back from Maz. But Rey's scenes with Leia? Hmm.

And a million more.

I think it was both past and present (and prophecy I guess). Although exactly what parts where what I don't know.

Luke trained them somewhere (probably not that important atm). A couple I assume. Kylo, one of the apprentices then known as Ben Solo, was seduced by the dark side and that guy whose name I've already forgotten again so he murdered the other apprentices.

I don't think she is related. Maybe. Her childhood obviously reflects lukes. Left by her parents on a sandy planet etc.

Going by the positions of the burn marks on Kylo's face and shoulder his head should have been cut almost in half.
Horcruxes? Wait, wrong series.

Disney just shot themselves in the foot.

I don't know how much the rest of you know about Finn (I'm an expert), but being a cool Jedi is a huge part of him. It's not like Kylo Ren where you can become successful by being an asshole. If you screw Finn over, you bring shame to yourself, and the only way to get rid of that shame is repentance.

What this means is the movie-viewing public, after hearing about this, is not going to want to watch The Force Awakens, nor will they watch any of Disney's movies. This is HUGE. You can laugh all you want, but Disney has alienated an entire market with this move.

Disney, publicly apologize and make Finn a badass Jedi or you can kiss your business goodbye.

I think at this moment the most likely theory is that palpatine, in the moment of his death, transfered his midichlorians into luke, who shortly after, gave birth to rey.

They could make a Star Wars spin-off that's also a sequel to Junior.

Snoke looks stupid, Luke looks great. Hope the Han death isn't as cheesy as it looks. Adam Driver looks to be scarred for future movies.

I think I saw one of the imperial officers (from Ep5 or 6) in the movie. Any confirmed cameos? I have tried to avoid most information around the movie these last days.
