it just hit me, all that talk about possible romantic reads for episode 8 are now starting to come together
it's going to be a love triangle ain't it
Finn-Poe vs Finn-Rey, right? Rey and Poe didn't even really meet.

Find it hilarious the First Order created yet another Death Star when the consensus by the remaining Imperial leaders in the current canon books is that even the first was a mistake.
I'm not questioning that she is, I'm asking why she is. Nothing is explained in this movie and this is kinda pissing me. She just enters the Falcon and does some heavy looping? She just picks up a light sabre for the first time and is able to fight Kylo? That doesn't make any sense.

I was confused during the movie about whether Finn and Rey's interactions were romantic or friendship.it just hit me, all that talk about possible romantic reads for episode 8 are now starting to come together

She may not have used a saber before, but she's already a skilled fighter and Force sensitive. Luke wasn't a skilled fighter when he first used light saber, while Rey's staff skills are well established throughout the filmI'm not questioning that she is, I'm asking why she is. I think it falls right in line with the empire and the naziism they are based on. "Our ideas are not flawed we must go bigger"
Well, Luke did have help from Obi Wan - even with the torpedo. He made a miraculous proton torpedo shot without a targeting computer in seemingly his first time flying an X Wing.
People who are force sensitive have better reflexes.
i liked that she immediately dismantled the 'dude takes girl by the hand to lead the way' thing by telling him she could run just fine without him grabbing her hand. She's very self-empowered and has the most agency of every characters in the movie.
Ouch. Sounds like Finn got slayed again.
If it is, Rian Johnson van hopefully pull it off. I said before how I like how this film planted the romance seeds.it just hit me, all that talk about possible romantic reads for episode 8 are now starting to come together

That is a really poor grasp on what the Nazis did

Finn done CAME UP LIKE 7-UP

Also Poe and Finn had a lot of affectionate hugs and touches while I don't think Rey talked with Poe at all, so if it happens, it better be Poe and Rey competing for Finn.
I know this sounds a bit dumb but has any of the "new" canon touched upon Leia and her force sensitivity? Is she even force sensitive?
I'd love to see Carrie Fisher pick up a lightsaber in one of the new films but I also can't see it happening.
Legit shocked that Han died though. I really thought they'd kill off all the newbies in one fell swoops but glad to see we'll have more of Luke and Leia in the future
Ok, right, I forgot about that staff thing... Hmm... Still not satisfied with the way it was staged but I can accept it.She may not have used a saber before, but she's already a skilled fighter and Force sensitive. IIRC, Leia is force sensitive. Wouldn't be surprised if she was as much as Luke.I know this sounds a bit dumb but has any of the "new" canon touched upon Leia and her force sensitivity? Is she even force sensitive?

She obviously knows how to fly a ship and she obviously knows melee combat (see first time when Finn sees her) probably both from where she was raised. Combine that with the force and possible repressed Jedi training that is hinted and you got some good enough answers.I'm not questioning that she is, I'm asking why she is. Nothing is explained in this movie and this is kinda pissing me. She just enters the Falcon and does some heavy looping? She just picks up a light sabre for the first time and is able to fight Kylo? Kylo is part of his Knights of Ren name, which has format [Assume name] [Ren].Just got back.
More like Kylo Ben, am I right?
Guys?

Many, many viewers of TFA don't know ANH by heart and won't see TFA for as entirely derivative as it is
She flies it pretty terrible at first. But she mentions that she's a pilot as they're escaping Jakku. Maybe they could have established it better but it's the same for Luke in ANH, all we get is "I use to bullseye Wamprats in my old T16 back home!" before he aces the X-wing. I think some things like this just have to go in the 'suspend your disbelief' category. It's Star Wars, not Interstellar. She just enters the Falcon and does some heavy looping?
I wonder if Rey using a staff is a way to imply she might get a double-bladed lightsaber or are they going to give her Anakin/Luke's lightsaber? Luke didn't take it at the end so maybe it means wants her to have it.

There is no chance in hell Disney will let Rian Johnson throw away millions in merchandise by having her keep using that lightsaber.
No staff lightsaber, please. Stick with exactly what she did at the end of this movie.
I loved the "medieval sword duel" like fighting style. I don't need overly choreographed fight-dances
The saber can play a part while having a new saber in the film.
Plus nothing prevents Disney/Lucasfilm from making Luke's old saber toys even with new stuff around.
Okay, let me tell you a story about me and Star Wars:
Man/Woman about my age: Oh man, I love Star Wars. Empire is my favourite movie.
Me (until two years ago): You know, I've never seen Star Wars.
Man/Woman: YOU'VE NEVER SEEN STAR WARS!?
This happened over and over again. Everyone my age other than me has seen Star Wars. I am 24 - a millennial, and the prime target for this movie's new fan base it wants to aquire.
I have seen ANH maybe twice, both in the last two years via Harmy Despecialized.
Star Wars is not Doctor Who. It isn't some long-lost show that needs to be re-introduced to the viewing public. EVERYONE has seen Star Wars.
This movie rips off a movie the vast majority of its viewing audience has seen at least once before. It feels almost like a con. "Here, we could have given you a new story, but here's the one you remember, with a new set of characters!" - It's totally baffling.
Saberstaff doesn't inherently require fight-dance as you put it.
Then It would become the Anakin/Luke/Rey lightsaber.
There is about a -10% chance she doesn't get her own lightsaber.
Look, what I want to say is that Luke's understanding and usage of the force felt much, much more natural than the one from Rey. For like 3/4 of the movie we don't even know that she has any powers and the suddenly they are even stronger than the one from Kylo.Help?
All Obiwan did was tell him to, basically, believe in himself.
Would that have been enough "explanation for you"? Imagine BB8 saying "you can do this, Rey!" when they board the Falcon. Problem solved.
You're kindasorta grasping at some straws here, man :/
Pike-saber.Then It would become the Anakin/Luke/Rey lightsaber.

That Lightsaber moment in the snow, what I've been hoping for since the character reveals! Yuuuuuuuuuuuus Rey!
So cool.

I can't possibly be the only one who sees is that way.
They filmed some scenes in Ireland so the last scene I basically took one look at the green scenery and knew that this had to be what they were talking about. It's a nice setting, they'll likely return to it for the sequel.

Oh sweet, that's in Kerry! Looking forward to more of it in future movies. It's Skellig Michael we already know they are filming there for episode 8.
So does Finn end up going with Rey in the Falcon to Luke or no?
And when is the first mention of Kylo's lineage? When Snoke mentions Han being his dad or when Kylo is talking to the Vader helmet?
You know what else is funny? After all the months of leaks and all the people that have worked on the film, not one spoiler said it was CONFIRMED who Kylo's parents are, just hints and theories that led to it. What I mean is, it's openly spoken about in 4 scenes but all these months we didn't know that it was such an "open" story element.
