According to George Lucas, anyway, the prophecy is fulfilled when Darth Vader "does become the hero, and does destroy the Sith meaning himself and the emperor." I suppose that could be undone, but yeah.
Assuming Snoke is a giant, can expect some Attack on Titan action with lightsabers?

I don't think Snoke is as big as the hologram portrays. It may even be that he's some kind of manipulator like Palpatine that just bullshits everyone. I kind of half expect him to be really short when we see his physical form.
Just spitballing. I have no idea, wish it were explained a bit better in the prequels. Like I said things went south again after VI so it offsets the balance.

He had like 2 scenes that were roughly 2 minutes long.

He was a plot device in this film. Could he have been used better? Sure. But we're asking questions about him for the sequels, so he served his purpose.
I thought the same thing about the Wizard of Oz.

I thought it was just him picking up on how nervous/scared Finn was and maybe even noticed that he didn't fire his gun with all the others.
He wasn't in that bad of shape, was he? I know he took a few pretty bad hits but it didn't seem like anything that would require extensive repair work. Just making sure I didn't somehow miss something there. He had the shot from Chewie, the one from Rey to his arm which was probably the worst and then the scar he'll have on his face.
I vaguely recall Luke mapping out a way to the original Jedi temple being a plot point in the Force Awakens prequel comic.
I just took it as him charting his own path.

Snoke isn't new, at least not in the SW universe. He just went by a different name prior and worked behind the scenes. No way is he not Plagueis.

What the fuck, really? He was just lame to me and a wannabe Emperor who we know just won't be as good as the Emperor when he is finally "Revealed" in person. For a minute there I thought he was an actual giant because his hologram didn't have the blue tint. I was relieved when it was just a giant hologram.

Did anyone else think Snoke was a huge ass guy before the hologram phased out? I sat there thinking woah, look at this guy. How in the hell are they going to take him down. Should have realised it was just a hologram, but it didn't have those telltale signs.
Good movie overall. I did find the fact that Kylo got injured a little too convenient to downgrade him considering he stopped a phaser blast with the force earlier. Was legit shook when he killed Han, I kinda felt something was going to happen but still wasn't prepared for when it actually happened and Han touching his face, that hit me hard.
Nice Luke reveal, hopefully he'll actually do something next movie and just take on a mentor role. I want to see someone of Luke's power actually fight and use the force.

I knew about a minute before it happened that Han was gonna die and I was still legit shook. Probably the most memorable scene in the movie. Absolutely amazing overall and I'm already pumped for the next. I loved how it ended with the parallel of Rey and Kylo both going to train more; the dynamic between those two was a definite highlight.

Everyone I saw it with thought the sound mixing was poor. We're not pros or anything, but it stuck out so much with all of us.
In my head I would keep comparing it to the reaction I would get from seeing Mad Max earlier in the year, how the sound and music in that movie made every hair in your body stand up.

Theres a reason they unmasked him. If he was supposd to be a faceless bad guy, like phasma, they wouldn't have.
He's still a baddy, but he will clearly go on a journey or else JJ would have never downplayed his unmasking as much as he did. We need a face in order for us to be able to connect with someone. Who knows where he'll end up. But considering how much like Jacen he is, one can guess.

Why would the Vader fanboy be the big bad?
Even though Snoke is weird, I am glad that they have already remedied one of the biggest mistakes in the prequel (imo) - a lack of a real villain that the heroes tussle with. Maul died in like 5 minutes and didn't do anything. Ren is so much better.

Hell, for all we know Ren might go on another rampage and kill Snoke as he grows in power. We don't know what the game is from those two yet.

They're setting him up for a redemption.
He was already hesitant and torn when killing Han, Snoke was vocal about him needing to let go of his past to truly ascend to the dark side of the force, and he's admiring Vader... Who had a cycle of good, to bad, to redemption.
Luke and/or Leia will turn him back to the light side.
If anything, I'd guess that Ben Solo is actually going to help defeat the First Order.

Kylo Ren is being set up for something great, but I hope it doesn't go the route of just straight up Vader-ing it and he kills Snoke and dies himself for redemption. That would be too much.

I avoided the Internet all day and just had to look at some RT reviews. The second one pretty much spoiled it when he said that the movie practically mirrored the 1st. When Han stepped onto that walkway, I knew he was dead.
Lucas had to have been fuming that someone else managed to capture the Star Wars feel, look, and characters. None of the prequels had even a sliver of greatness that The Force Awakens had.

One thing I noticed while standing in line for a few hours. This is the first time I have seen multiple generations in line for a movie. A lot of older people with their kids and grandkids. A lot of parents with their children. Teens. It was just all ages.

I'm actually starting to think that this won't be resolved with 2 more movies - I have a feeling these conflicts, relationships, and characters are going to grow and develop for far longer.
A central plot point may be resolved by the end of Episode IX, but I think Episode X (and beyond) are inevitable.

So the Storm Trooper female captain was Gwendoline Christie (Brienne from GOT) but her role is now over? Seemed like a waste of the actress, especially given how easily she submitted.
I loved the movie but thinking back it did have something I really disliked... Maz.

Ren is awesome because he is something I've wanted in a Star Wars movie since forever - a Sith Padawan. In hindsight, this is what I wanted Maul to be. Powerful, very Sith-like, but with obvious rough edges. I particularly liked him for that concept because some EU stuff touched upon how he became a Sith.

There's no way that she is done. It wouldn't be the first time someone escaped from a trash compactor. The scene ended on too humorous a note to suggest that she died also.

Kylo Removing His Mask Beef
Kylo takes of his mask during the Rey force mind fight for the first time. Most likely because they need to convey emotion as they're blasting bass at eachother and you can't see it.
However, I wish he kept the mask on for that scene, made it a little shorter and kept the face reveal of Kylo when he confronts Han as his son. At that time, Han sees his son for the first time in a long ass time, and the audience sees Kylo just as a kid...instead of a robot/deformed monster. The impact would have been waaaay more profound.

The original trilogies story arc boiled down to a farm boy being told he was a Jedi and had to forego friends and family and kill his father. Said farm boy said 'fuck that' and chose friends and family, and managed to redeem his father to the extent where his father saved his life and broke off decades of subtle brainwashing.
Star Wars has never been about 'good vs evil.' The Jedi and Sith were both monsters in their own way, and Luke chose to tear everything down and rebuild it.

I so nailed it with my poster analysis. I guessed that Rey would be the one with the force and not Finn. The poster alluded to it and I told my friend, look how they made the lightsaber from Kylo seem like its Rey thats holding it and man was I right.
Just got back, loved it! I would say it's my second favorite after Empire. It was definitely a lot packed into one movie, but they set up the trilogy really well. Thank god we only have to wait a little over a year to see Episode VIII and ROGUE ONE in 2016! Phasma was the most disappointing character, but hopefully they can rectify it in the next one. Although I saw it coming, Han's death got me especially because Harrison did such a good job, he nailed all the mannerisms and was a blast to watch...and chewies scream when he dies *tears*

I don't mind that. God knows we've dealt with Anakin/Vader in 7 damn movies now. Arcs don't end in Star Wars.
Rey can have her moment too... I just don't think that they're going to kill off or keep the son of Han Solo evil, especially with the fact they killed off Han.

They'r setting him up for redemption. Need a face in order for audiences to be able to sympathize. Fuck the build up, don't copy cat Vader.
Hes going to be a mamas boy, watch her die or almost die at the hands of the First Oder/Phasma/Snoke and it will be what pushes him to help beat the bad guys much like Vader did when the Emperor was shocking Luke.
Sounds like the core worlds took their marbles and went home leaving the rest of the empire to fend for themselves
