Live from New Hampshire, it's the 3rd Democratic Primary Debate!

That's good, a lot of the changes Bernie and the other dems want isn't even possible until Citizens United is overturned and Hilary is the most realistic path to accomplish that.

Pretty much, we've gotta get rid of Citizens United before the GOP wises up and starts dumping all that money into local races where it'll have a huge impact instead of into national races where it has almost no impact.

This was yet another lackluster debate for Bernie. I am devastated.

Let me go back to play Xenoblade X.

No it's totally cool. Let's undertreat pain in support of a debate bullet point about heroin addiction.

Is opiate prescription not correlated meaningfully with heroine usage? I feel like I've seen this case made by several reputable sources over the last half decade

It is. All you need to do is look at New England. CNN has actually done a lot of great reporting on the issue, Bourdain especially has done some good work on it with his show. There's also some good articles in The Atlantic on the issue. Basically the strong stuff gets overprescribed and then people get hooked when they aren't careful and when they can't get access anymore they turn to heroin.

Let me go back to play Xenoblade X.

He is terrible at arguing his points. He can't even argue democratic socialism.

He has a lot of the right ideas - perhaps the one with the most right ideas- but make my backdoor an exception here: he's not a genuine bastion for this.

Carl Sagan, also a Brooklynite like Sanders (and me!), used reason and understanding to articulate. Sanders very clearly has reason and understanding to promote what he does, but he cannot articulate it in the slightest. He couldn't articulate the damages climate change makes to the most largest offenders to said problem if he tried.

Another good debate.

Hillary was very prepared despite looking not so at the beginning. She made 2 great rebuttals, one that shed dirt on both candidates to keep them honest. Had some flashes of 08 there. Good to see that she's still got that side of her for the general.

Liked the substance of the debate overall even if the single-payer healthcare debate was sabotaged by Hillary - understandable since she has to defend her own, prop up her own but she knows very well that Obamacare (even if improved) is just but one stopgap of many holes.

FYI Citizens United was about a conservative group making a movie mocking HRC, so she's got a special beef with that case.

So our approach needs to be smarter to reduce both issues? Replacing chronic pain with a heroin problem is not really a step forward

Our approach is likely already too restrictive. The good of helping people with chronic pain manage IMO far outweighs the cost of abuse and potential spillover to heroin addiction.

Edit: This logically brings us to a ratio. How many underserved chronic pain patients vs potential saved heroin addicts. At what number does action make sense?

Damn DNC and DWS making it so that C comes before S making sure Hillary gets the final word in this debate.

She can't keep getting away with it!

The Democratic debate is just so different from the Republican debate from what I've seen. The candidates here at least mostly all offered more reasonable views on domestic and foreign situations. Everything just seem so much more sane compared to the yelling contest in the Republican side. The Republican side is just all about "who can be tougher than the rest ???" and it's sickening.

I think his problem is that he argues as if he was in a rally. He has the argumentative teeth of a protester, an activist. But that doesnt play well in debates, where there´s an audience where you need to explain your ideas, instead of just validate them.

We'll tbf, you're probably looking at it with a very biased lens. And there's only 3 of them.

Thank you.

Not to derail, but if you actually think him passing it up the proper channels or languishing in a jail cell in America would actually have done anything, you're delusional.

There is no evidence that he gave any special treatment to Russia. The info was vetted, poorly, by our media. Blame them, and don't forget that our government was unconstitutionally spying on us and still continues to this day, and you're still thumping that nationalist rhetoric by wasting time calling him a traitor.
