I'm wondering if Final Fantasy Type-0 HD ($16.49 CAD) is worth my time. The last FF I've played was XIII, and I came really close to giving up on it because it just felt "automatic", and quite honestly pointless for the first 10h or so. It got much better after that, though, and I'm glad I stuck with it till the end. So, I'm wondering how Type-0 compares as a game, in general. Also, did they patch it so that it could display native 4K? I know it can render at 4K, and "downsample" to 1080p through the AA options, but I'd still prefer native 2160p if at all possible.

Thanks!
Firstly, Type-0 is an ARPG, not a turn-based FF game so you won't have to worry about anything feeling automatic and they play quite differently. Personally, I liked the combat and also that the game is quite challenging. Believe me, you will die a lot.

As for the display question, I have no idea about that, sorry :/

I've been looking to try a monster hunter clone for a while, how's the PC port of Toukiden Kiwami? 50% off. Much cheaper than I've seen the PS4 version.

For once I (mostly) actually bought games I have real interest in playing in the near future! And they were all from my wishlist so for once the wish list actually got shorter.

Found out how to finish my queue. If anyone keeps getting "This item is unavailable in your region". while on the page open the javascrip console and use this line

Code:
$J.post("/app/7", { sessionid: g_sessionID, appid_to_clear_from_queue: 251610 });

Replace 251610 with the AppID that's on the URL. I expect this to happen to a lot of South American gaffers so, here you go. :)
Thank you!
Finally got rid of something that has been stuck in my queue and preventing me from completing them for 4 months.

Three options.

A: Buy Dark Souls for 5€. Played Demons Souls for 1h, liked it ok but it's just so dark...
B: Play DA:O on Xbox One (EA Access yo)
C: Play Wind Waker HD

I'd be curious as to whether the lack of Daily and Flash sales affected overall sales of games. Or whether it helped game sales.

I'm thinking of maybe going for:
-Undertale
- Dying Light
- Soma
- DS2: Scholar of the First Sin
- Life Is Strange

Then again, I know that I probably won't end up playing many, if any, of those games for a good long while since I'm still working my way through Pillars of Eternity, MGSV, Fallout 4 and the WItcher expansion.

I mean, I haven't even finished Dark Souls 1, I bought Dark Souls 2 at release and haven't touched it, and despite all that I'm seriously thinking of getting the Scholar of the First Sin upgrade... just because? SOMEBODY HELP ME.

Dying Light is the one I'd say you should absolutely go for. Not only does the upcoming expansion look excellent, but the game truly feels like a huge step forward for both mobility and melee combat in first person games. Plus, decent mod support and tons of interesting secrets/easter eggs to discover in a very unusual location for an open world game.

No way should you go for Scholar before tackling the other games in the series. You'll have no idea why they changed certain things, and some of those changes are arguably worse than vanilla DS2.

Picked up Transistor, Shadowrun Returns & Dragonfall. All under $10
Elder Scrolls Online, reviews make it sound awesome. Does this align with neogaf's hivemind?
Girlfriend and I tried it out through the free weekend. We enjoyed it, it's good, but no matter how much we love Elder Scrolls, we couldn't get over the MMO-ness of it.

If you like MMOs and you like TES, it's a solid choice.

I think just Undertale for me. Since most of my wishlist doesn't have great discounts, I kind of want to splurge on something and trying to decide between Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes, Dirt Rally or Dragon's Dogma but I'm sure those will all be on sale soon enough.

I picked up D4 and Cities Skylines via other storefronts.

Only wanted Transformers: Devastation this year, might pick up a few cheap games as well (including games that are usually $10 or less without the special sale).

Buy Dark Souls. I really enjoyed Wind Waker but I prefer Dark Souls. I think that you mean Dragon Age: Inquisition which is a shame because Origins is fantastic. Inquisition is boring so just forget about that.

Im done.

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II
Super House of Dead Ninjas: True Ninja Pack
LA Cops
Total Annihilation
Galaxy Admirals
The Flame in the Flood

Contradiction - the all-video murder mystery adventure
The Amber Throne
Final Fantasy V
Hand Of Fate
Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth3

So far, here's what I'm going to buy tomorrow

- Transistor (Euro 3.79)
- Witcher 1 (Euro 1.19)
- Witcher 2 (Euro 2.99)

I'll see what else in the next few days, if/when I get more money on my card (not much left now).

Just got Life is Strange Ep 1 from a generous gaffer so I think it's my turn to give something back. Nothing fancy, just some old bundle leftovers. Hopefully I did this correctly.

Single bundle containing all.
Preferably don't grab the bundle if you already have two of them.

I just did two of those Discovery Queues and it says I unlocked the cards, but I haven't received the notification nor are they in my inventory.

Sigh.

Correct. When enemies are sparable their names will be yellow. Usually.

Depends what you're expecting. If you're looking for an immersive Elder Scrolls game, wide open spaces, beautiful vistas, explore wherever you want whenever you want, you'll find none of that here.

If you're looking for a decent single player game with MMO elements (linear environmental progression, lots of quests, free-form grouping with other players) then you'll enjoy it.

The developers finally realized they needed to win over the TES fans, so it's mainly a single player game now, and the combat is a lot of fun now that they've spent so much time tweaking it. That's come at the expense of most originally group-related content now being solo-able, and new patch and expansion content being solo focused. The siege PVP is where you'll want to go for good group content, not the PVE dungeons. There are still far better MMOs out there if you're looking to scratch that itch, and far better Elder Scrolls games (all of them), but while this used to be an abomination no-one asked for that was terrible to play, at least it's now an abomination no-one asked for that's mildly enjoyable.

tie fighter vs xvt vs xwing alliance

Go either for TIE Fighter (GOAT, but can feel a bit outdated) or XWA (perfection of the formula and has pretty mods, including the campaigns from the old games). Or just do a whynotboth.jpg, they are worth.

XvT is okish. Coop campaigns are fantastic if you have somebody to play with, but otherwise you can ignore it.

Wow, this thread is moving fast.

Anyway, I caved on the first titles on my wish list. So far, I've bought

- Fallout: New Vegas
- Her Story
- Transistor
- Papers, Please
- The Talos Principle
- The Beginner's Guide
- Spec Ops: The Line

for altogether around 37 euros. I'm probably going for Ori, Undertale, Pillars of Eternity, and Life Is Strange in a few days at the latest (I'm also still hoping to see a deal for Resident Evil HD and Divinity: Original Sin).

I just wanted to say that you have great taste in games.

I guess it was too much to hope for to get a 50% or deeper discount on the complete Life Is Strange. I'm not even that interested but steamGAF keeps talking it up.
