edited: oh boy it does! I just lied to someone when asked about my profile, because I thought they are asking about background *laughs*

Even though there are no dailies, it feels weird to be buying things, and I keep thinking in the back of my head to check the store for new discounts :(

Why are we still here? Just to suffer? Every night, I can feel the dailies... and the flash sales... even my meta games.

The deals I've lost... the excitement I've lost... won't stop hurting... It's like they're all still there.

You feel it, too, don't you?

THIS POST IF FUCKING GOLD LMFAOOOOOOOOO
A+ Ozzy, good shit.

Makes you want to pick up a scrying mirror and stare back into a time where Ikaruga could've been 75% off.

Is sonic generations any good? I'm thinking of getting it for my daughter who is a big fan of sonic colors.

Many argue that it's one of the top Sonic games of all time. Certainly my favorite after 20+ years of Sonic games.

There's also a cool Unleashed Mod which adds all Day stages from Sonic Unleashed into Sonic Generations.

this trend of heavily discounting the first episode of something but not the full season is fucking awful

Good on Telltale for not doing that shit

Has anyone played KOTOR 1/2 on Windows 10 recently? I really want to replay the games and have them on Steam, but so many of the recent reviews say it's hard to get them running properly. Maybe they're better GOG purchases?

played them both a few days ago just downloaded and ran didn't have any issues windows 10 pro

Anyone play Grey Goo? The rts? I'm looking for a good rts that won't break the bank. Even games like Anno would be up my ally. Haven't played mang rts games in a while, so I kinda want to get some

Dirty Bomb didn't discount the Starter Pack... blarg. Everything in your store is horrible value for the money DB, I like the game and want to pay, but you make it so hard. Dirty Bomb makes Call of Duty and its map packs look like the deal of the century. I could pay about $200 to get all the mercs and a weapon loadout for each of them, but... nah.

The game seems to exclusively target whales, or people that play nothing except Dirty Bomb. $10 mercs? Who do you think you are Nexon? Blizzard?

Does anyone know who's making the hidden gems thread? I'd like to know so I can keep on the lookout for it.

I don't know how much you've played, but you really don't need that many mercs. Just one or two of the best ones to fill out your roster so you are competetive.

Looking at the Stocking Stuffer pack, you can just about pick up an extra merc with the included credits and a little bit of boosted game time.

I'm pretty sure KOTOR II was all fixed up and stuff for steam. It has achievements now!

$3.74

im in

Yeah, doesn't Telltale also often give out the first episode for free?

dunno about that, but at least they always discount the full seasons, even before all the eps are out

Im looking at you Life is Strange / Kings Quest / RE Revelations 2, fuck all of you :(

You guys are making is seriously hard to resist. I guess I'll keep telling myself that there's no way my graphics card would be able to keep up anyway.

But it's an amazing game!
Totally enjoyed my 40 hours in it, one of my GOTY.

----------------------------------------- >8

King's Quest is 90% off, can't resist. :o

No Nuclear Throne discount? I would have jumped that in an instant.

Bought Consuming Shadow instead. 50% was what I hoped for.

Lara Croft: Temple of Osiris worth it for 5 bucks? I NEED to play a new co-op game, but not many great co-op games have come out this year. Loved the first one.

25% and 33% on the games I wanted, can't afford to pull the trigger at that discount :(
Looking at the dozens of games on my wishlist, I dub this the 33%/50% sale.

They do give you something like a ~15 cents incentive to come back every day, but I can already see that my wishlist is going to be left largely untouched, and that's kind of a bummer.

^Salsa, when are we going to tell people to buy The Long Dark?

People, buy The Long Dank

Makes you want to pick up a scrying mirror and stare back into a time where Ikaruga could've been 75% off.

I'm really bummed that Contradiction isn't on sale.. I think if it were on sale more people who were otherwise iffy on it would grab it :/

I'm dead inside.

Till this very day. This sucks.

This sale is boring af. Deals are ok but I'm really disappointed the sale isn't an event. That was the best part of the sale.

Yeah it's really fun, it's not as good as colors IMO just because that was all new but it's a good game and the steam version runs really well

Thanks for the advice. Think I'll skip it. She still plays Colors all the time and I got her Lego Jurassic World in the sale earlier. If its not as good I'll hold off for a while and see if there's a bigger discount somewhere in the future

I'm thinking of buying Oceanhorn I heard it's a good Zelda-like, can someone who's played it recommend it?

I strongly recommend it if you're looking for a good Zelda-like game. It's pretty short (about 8 hours or so, more if you're after those 100% achievements) but looks beautiful, plays great, and oozes charm. It's another game that's in the running for my top 5 of the year.

Yo Consortium is 90% off. Sale redeemed already.
Gonna buy Undertale next month.

Homecoming is... not very good. There's one segment where the team appeared to understand the series and applied their own spin on it, but it's otherwise very forgettable. The drama, characters, locales and combat are all stiff, with none of the series' trademark attention to detail, lore, or masterfully executed horror elements to make up for it.

To expand upon this, the entire game is definitely "not very good."

A few pros:
-Akira Yamaoka's soundtrack is fine, probably the best part about Homecoming, really. Isn't as good as some of the other SH OSTs, but it's still fine.
-A few boss designs aren't terrible. I don't want to spoil it for anyone that wants to play the game, so I won't be too specific about the bosses. A few enemy designs are okay, too.
-PC version looks better than what I remember of the 360 version.
-Some of the transitions between the normal world and the other world look cool.
-Could have been much worse according to interviews with Tomm Hulett.

Negatives:
-The game's writing is pretty terrible at times. My personal favorite quote of the game is "I don't want your help! These wounds cannot heal," said in one of the whiniest ways imaginable. The voice acting doesn't even have the bizarre charm of SH2's voice acting.
-The sound mixing is really weird at times, to the point where sound effects and dialogue often make the soundtrack nearly inaudible.
-While a few boss designs are fine/serviceable, most of the enemy designs are either bland, re-purposed from older entries, or outright bad. Hey remember those "awesome," totally memorable bug enemies from SH 1 and 2? They're back, but look slightly different and have a different name. Dogs are back, again, but now they're skinned. Nurses are back because they're the most recognizable enemy of the franchise other than Pyramid Head, who also returns for Homecoming. There's an enemy that is basically the Lying Figure from 2 but shoots smoke out of its body (hence its profoundly deep name, Smog).
-Speaking of Pyramid Head, the character is completely misused. It only shows up in cutscenes and has no direct interaction with the player. Pyramid Head is just kind of there and is really only in the game due to marketing and brand recognition. That's not to say that I'm entirely opposed to PH being in the game; Origins and The Arcade retcon PH to be an entity associated with SH and not just James Sunderland. But PH is completely misused in Homecoming.
-Combat is awful. It's basically Zelda combat but worse, and relies heavily on whether or not you can stunlock enemies before they can stunlock you.Boss battles are frustrating messes based around stunlocking and conserving ammo to hopefully avoid melee combat as much as possible. The knife you start out with is by far the best melee weapon in the game for the majority of the encounters due to its speed and stunlocking capability. The game's combat is probably one of my biggest complaints, as it was one of the big things this game was supposed to do right.
-Puzzles weren't that good. To quote Dusk:
The game has a few puzzles, and by puzzles I mean over half of them are sliding tile puzzles or this puzzle about crossing wires. Whoever the ♥♥♥♥ at Double Helix thought that making most of the puzzles in the game ♥♥♥♥ing sliding puzzles really deserves a solid kick in the ♥♥♥.
-Frustrating glitches. First one I encountered was about ten minutes into the game, where trying to open a door that I had to go through crashed the game. I had to futz around with various settings just to get past the door, but at least I was able to reset the settings afterwords and didn't encounter that glitch again, even though it wasted about 20-30 minutes of my life. The other major glitch I encountered was during an escort section in the sewers. The person I was escorting was pushed into a corner by a monster, and would not leave the corner, forcing me to reload an earlier save. This happened twice before I was finally able to make it through that segment.

That's all I can really think of right now. The story wasn't really good, but it could have been far worse, as I've already mentioned. I just don't think that Homecoming is worth anyone's time.

I'm thinking of buying Oceanhorn I heard it's a good Zelda-like, can someone who's played it recommend it?

It's a decent Zelda-like. Don't go in expecting an actual Zelda game and you'll probably enjoy it. Just avoid the fishing segments, they start to get very frustrating towards the end.

Lara Croft: Temple of Osiris worth it for 5 bucks? I NEED to play a new co-op game, but not many great co-op games have come out this year. Loved the first one.
I really enjoyed the first, played it co-op with a mate.

So, this was an easy buy for me.

Don't make that same mistake, the game is terrible, buggy, runs like shit. Tried playing with two other people, multiple times, and we had sync issues or crashes before the first level was finished.

Don't buy it.
