Street Fighter V Roster Discussion |Thread 2| Deal with it & place your hope for DLC

it really doesn't because Sagat has been different in gameplay historically. like, cvs2 sagat and sf4 sagat are POLAR opposites.
What? Sagat, akuma, Ryu, Sakura, Ken, all play drastically different, we know that. Changing frame data on the same animated moves can change a lot. But in GENERAL, they are different enough to not be included together right away. The reason makes perfect sense.

I love everything about the game but those awful stages...seriously why does every stage have to have these ugly looking NPC in the background? Moving at 30fps? Can we just get 3 or 4 beautiful scenery stages Capcom? No hippos no horses, no elephants, or dinosaurs. Just a snow stage, an autumn stage, and mountain side view etc...junk is annoying. MK releasing a year earlier is gonna outclass the stages? Come on Capcom wizards, put that Ps4 to work!
Yah still a huge complaint of mine. I don't know how Capcom (dimps) can't see how ugly the stages look when you clutter them up with 30 fps animated npcs... Tekken is outclassing SFV as well.

Agree 100%. I've complained plenty about this.

Post in the Unity feedback threads. Hopefully the more people do, the better.

I don't think they'd go over 1 Tekken character. Then that guy who wants Sean in SFV will get mad.
I think we're getting Nina and Kuma. (w/ an Anna alt costume for Nina.) Would makes sensestory-wise that she's the new head of security for the Kanzuki Zaibatsu, hence her appearance at the Estate. (Capcom using "Zaibatsu" instead of another word in Karin's bio for western translations definitely wasn't an accident.)

It's not so much that they're lower quality compared to the fighters, it's that they're so random.

Look at these characters on the Guile Stage. It's obvious they don't animate well. However, they fit the stage. They don't have random cultural bullshit dancing for no reason in a middle of a fight. The Brazilian stage has those dancers who shouldn't even be there as they don't fit the stage and are for some reason dancing when there's a fight going on.

The same is true for a couple of other stages.

People need to let Capcom know otherwise we're going to keep getting these shit characters ruining the stages.

Maybe they were already dancing and a fight broke out. In terms of the stage and locale, the dancers definitely fit.

They kinda tried a scenery stage with the New Zealand stage, but even the sheep and waterfall animate poorly.

There can still be a lot of activity and be done well, however. I thought the Africa and skyscraper stages in SFIV were great.

It's not about the dancers being Brazilian, but more so that they were just placed there to make it seem more Brazilian. Same with the random band in the London stage and the Russian dancing being in the Russian stage.

So what are everyones thoughts on how the 6 characters returning next year will play ?

Juri would seem like the easiest to implement into SFV's style , her feng shui engine feels like an obvious V trigger and her counter attack could probably work quite well as her Vskill. Just make it so hitting MM stand alone sends her upwards, holding back sends her backwards and holding forward switches positions with the opponent. Her other 3 special attacks could remain pretty much unchanged .

Ibuki would be a bit more comlicated, she has a crap ton of special attacks and command normals as well as target combos. I don't know if maybe capcom would water her down just a bit ? I think decent Vskill would simply be her fast dash (originally QCF+kick) , if you hold it down it could work like kens run into step kick and auto execute her neck grab move. Her command grab and kunai throw are pretty integral to who she is so they'd stay... but I'm thinking maybe her double kick could stay on that input with a M.kick and a H.kick would change to her anti air attack. No idea what to make her vtrigger though, could be similar to Nash maybe ? do a kawamori no jutsu where she's replaced with a log for a split second and you get a free hit on the foe ?

Balrog - I really have no clue here, given that much of the cast got changed from too many charges (bison not included) maybe the same will happen here ? Don't know what his vskill would be but maybe his vtrigger just buffs his defence to make it safer to get in ?

Guile - Again, will they keep him charge based ? just to differentiate from Nash ? no clue what to give him for a vskill/trigger mode because he's one of the most basic members of SF's cast ...

Urien - His wall trap makes an obvious choice for Vtrigger but again - will he remain a charge based character ? and what should his vskill be ? something similar to zangeifs ?

Alex - No idea what to do with alex whatsoever...

What are others suggestions ?

I think for Ibuki they will make her command flip be her v-skill, with an option to throw a kunai or not (so her kunai will not be a normal special move but be a part of her v-skill).

I'm curious if they will try and keep them true to their original characters or change them around for V. I feel like the Alpha and II characters definitely needed some revamping of their gameplay to keep them fresh but I like how III characters play in their games. Also, in IV the III characters had longer combos than a lot of the rest of the cast to make them feel like their original versions. I wonder if they'll do that here (I can't imagine Urien without his shoulder juggles).

Juri - I think you nailed her on the head on how she'll play.

Guile - I imagine he'll be completely charge but I'd like if he got a new move. He'll definitely have some new stuff if only because he needs a V-Skill and V-Trigger. I'd prefer if his old supers were just made into EX moves, like Ryu and Ken's EX SRKs are old supers, but his Critical Art is brand new.

Balrog - I imagine he'll be more like his Omega version so he can juggle with dash uppers and he gets a command grab. I want him to be pretty different to give Q a shot.

Urien - They could do a ton with Urien. His V-Trigger will either be Aegis or some kind of power up. I'd be fine if his EX FB was just an Aegis. I doubt he'll have charge partitioning.

Alex - I doubt him or the other 3Sers will lose moves considering Birdie has like 5 special moves. I don't seem him changing much. Maybe Stungun Headbutt as V-Trigger? V-Skill could be that stomp. It would great if he had two different CAs depending on where he grabs you.

Ibuki - She won't be her SF4 version, certainly. Maybe her V-Trigger can be that grounded kunai super but all it does is pin you to the ground for so many seconds on hit, allowing Ibuki time to try and mix you up for a combo. You'd be force to stand there and block. Although she has a command throw, right? That wouldn't work if she could just throw you.

V-Skill is likely her command jump.

I realize Rashid is middle-eatern, so it doesn't necessarily make a lot of sense, but is his win quote against Xangief, where he says he looks like his grandfather, an allusion to Darun from the EX series ?

Oh shit, that's a possibility, that would also mean Ono wasn't talking shit when he talked about the year of skullomania

Darun was Pullum's bodyguard so I don't think it's a big stretch to imagine he met a woman during his time in Saudi Arabia. Hell, that could be the reason Darun was working for Pullum in the first place. Good catch.

Strangely enough Pullum Purna's grandfather apparently practices Hinduism, which I hear is kind of a rough deal in Saudi Arabia.

We're getting popular fan requests Sagat and Blanka and wave 2 would be my guess. Add in maybe Dudley and another alpha character. Then Akuma and someone new.
