edit: Apparently it's a developer feature, never mind

The store is being wonky though, keeps logging me out both on web and in the Steam client itself.

quick question... so without the dailies, the whole sale catalog will be the same throughout the period? i.e. no matter when I buy the price will be the same for all the games?

Any other niche games I should pull the trigger on?

Feels good to have consumer choice, to be able to grab the majority of games at their lowest discount at any time I want.

Are you implying that felons are some kind of creature?

Lol, you are pushing for this new sales practice so hard. :P

Two cool games just popped up in my Exploration queue.

You can actually support development on their website with a donation that gets you the game and other rewards. Apparently they had a Kickstarter at one point.

Why Early Access?
The Universim brings with it enough innovation to create somewhat of a new genre in the gaming world. We don’t want to restrict your control over the game to a mere farm, town, or city, we want you to control entire, procedurally-generated planets, complete with wildlife and dynamic environmental conditions. You will certainly spot some familiar mechanics in The Universim, adapted from some of the best god games of all time, but it’s almost entirely designed from the ground up. Some of the mechanics in the game will be introduced to you for the first time ever, and that is why your feedback is absolutely crucial for us. We want to position ourselves as an indie studio that is driven by your positive feedback. We came here to make fun games, and to do that we need your help and support. The Universim is our first game as a studio, and that is why it’s very important for us to deliver an excellent product.

I thought this was interesting, the guys who brought us the Youtuber bait in I am Bread and Surgeon Simulator now have the budget to develop a seriously massive game. They are creating a multiplayer survival game where players explore procedural generated floating islands for resources, build their own air ships, and battle it out in the skies.

Cool.

I like platformers, but I'm not a huge fan. Already have enough in my backlog.

well they did just add women prisoners...I kid, I kid :)

Maybe Satellite Reign? If you enjoy cyberpunk, squad-scale RTS and/or the original Syndicate.

I have that one on my wishlist, but I have enough CRPGs in my backlog for now.

I can't think of a generic term :P

Prison Architect, Banished, and Cities: Skylines are my favorite builders on Steam.

Might want to check out Valhalla Hills. Just realease from Early Access, but has a style similar to the Impressions Games who developed Cleopatra, Caesar, Zeus series, which are on sale on GOG.

Just started Downwell and I can already tell I'm going to love it.

While I don't have a super rig, I've got a solid one and nothing feels better than min/maxing budget with raw output, painstakingly researching to do so, and using all that effort to play something lo-fi and less than 50MB.

Nice.

M/KB or controller best for this game?

Lol, you are pushing for this new sales practice so hard. :P

That feel of logical arguments.

Has GTA:V not been -40% from the start of the sale? Seems like they really dont want to put it under £20

Probably because GTAV on PC is still "hot stuff". Even if it's a later port, R* is still releasing MP contents, so the game is still alive. It will be discounted heavily in a couple of years, I think.

Pretty sure rainbow 6 seige didn't have a discount before did it? Also fm16 does now and I remember people complaining it didn't at the start of the sale. No dailies my ass, they just don't tell us about them.

The feel of thinking your arguments are superiors to other arguments.

I totally understand what you mean, but to me, the sale is terrible because the excitements that came from dailies, flashes etc. is what made the sale special.

It's on Valve to increase consumer engagement (cards, metagame, featured deals, etc). I'm very surprised they didn't have a metagame of some kind.

Otherwise it's a net positive change.

I finally got myself Shantae: Risky's Revenge. I'm enjoying this way way more than I expected. But oh boy, I got completely lost at the beginning because I couldn't find Rotty.
Also the RB on my DS4 doesn't seem to work at all in this game, not that big of an issue but because of this I got really confused on how to use items.

Well I hope for Valves sake something positive comes out of this sale.

So far it's been terrible and the excitement which made everything so cool about these kinds of sales are gone.

I was done with the sale about 8 hours or so after it started.

looks like im buying this game on amazon...my card was declined for literally no reason, my bank even shows it as going through...what the fuck steam
edit: game is showing up in my library...im so confused right now

I can't buy anything, seems like the store keeps crashing on me. LOL! I want GTA V since its been the cheapest that I have seen it and probably will be for sometime. I'll keep trying.

Noticed qite a few games are cheaper for me here.

Seems you guys say sunless sea is 10 but 5 for me.

Also noticed a lot of 2 dollar games hitting sub 1.50 quite often as well. mad max is 10 for me also. I haven't been seeing the american prices but checking now and seeing max at 20 surprises me a little. Wonder what else is a lot cheaper for me here.

Everyone have A Real Neato Christmas

It may look like a platformer, but it's a full blown puzzle game.
Even moreso than FEZ or Braid.

I'll take a look at it. I enjoyed Fez, and I haven't played Braid yet.

DS4Windows?

Rest assured, Valve is still making money hand over fist.

Keep in mind that for mainstream users, which constitute the majority of Steam's user base, the change was completely arbitrary. They will come and browse the frontpage daily as usual and buy whatever interests them.

Assuredly, some kind of metagame that increases consumer engagement will further assist with sales numbers.

Back in the day I was kinda scared when I bought the game. "I don't have anyone to play with", "I will play a couple days and I won't touch it anymore".

Heh.

And I'm still playing alone.

I'm gonna try and get as much play in before my GOTY list is done, I hope it hooks me like it did just about everyone else.

Yes. If it is added as a non-steam game. It can be run with in-home streaming.

For example, my copies of the Witcher series from GOG.
Thank you, just got a link for Christmas and The Sims 4 runs fine with a wireless mouse and keyboard.

Can't wait to give this a go with Rocket League.

By keeping track of things, do you mean I should take notes on a piece of paper or such? Or does it have some kind of in-game map where I can mark things?

(I wish all Metroidy games with a map had some kind of notation feature.)
There's no in game system to keep track of stuff like that. You gotta take it back to the NES days where you jotted stuff down in the manual. Well, just keep a notepad file. I just kept notes on places I needed to return to.

(I agree 100%. I'd take the ability to draw on the map and keep notes over the game telling me where to go.)
