People not peeping his All New All Different Strange look

looks great, really high hopes for this one

edit: the eye of agamotto houses the soul gem by the looks of it!

I'm surprised we're getting full on magic runes/circles. That looks amazing. I can already imagine giant magic circle and flashy visual effects during their big magic battle

Feige knows what he's doing. The costume looks great.
It all depends on the world building, like we could buy Superman'S costume in Mos because we spent the first 20 mins of the film seeing that it came from somewhere it was the norm. Maybe they are doing the same with the magic realm, that's pretty cool, but it comes from thin air it will get silly, can't wait for Cpt Marvel, now that's a costume designer challenge.

One of the few Entertainment Weekly covers that doesn't look like it was put together by one of their vision-impaired interns.

The costume in MoS sucks though.

I love how Marvel arent afraid to have their superheroes be bright, garish and colourful.

Why do we need to explain it?
He's a superhero sorcerer with a massive flare for the dramatic.
We dont need to know about his tailor.

I bet Carol's costume starts out as a fancy fighter pilot get-up before getting streamlined.

That's Doctor Strange alright :) Told you Bumbercatch would fit the job!

Looks great. Would prefer a thicker beard as well. I have a feeling this movie is going to be something really special and catch everyone offguard. I mean that cast is top tier talent.

Gotta have a montage with him putting it all together and a separate scene where he talks about why he needs such a high collar.

I imagine it isn't like that in the comics, but for the cinematic universe I dig that.

It's a good way of explaining 'magic' with a human character in the context of what the universe has already established.

I hope so. Cast is indeed great (I have less faith in the director but who knows) and it has the potential for crazy visuals, so here's hoping.

This, alongside Suicide Squad seem like big wildcards in 2016. I'm a little more excited for those two than their bigger brothers.

I can't get past Benedict's face though, so unique.

Does Dr Strange have long spell he need to say when using magic or is it simplified with just one word spell like Harry Potter? Or is it just silent and things just happen?

Hearing Cumberbatch chanting spells could be awesome. He has great voice.

Cumberbatchs Smaug voice dropped panties all over the world.

yeah, they did a great job bringing in alternate dimensions with Ant-Man and this seems like the next logical step in expanding the scope of the MCU

Who needs characterization right? It's Mahvel, baby.

Sigh.

i know this is your timely MCU fanboy freakout but Iron Man & Captain America specifically had important moments regarding their comic-accurate suits. Thor's can be explained away RE: space royalty, Ant-Man has a whole movie about his suit, The Wasp's suit has a huge emotional impact behind it. shit, even Daredevil has moments to explain where his suit comes from and even ties in a great character with it (Melvin Potter.)

your whole 'anti-MCU' thing has become really tired and lazy lol

This scene needs to be in the movie now.

Strange is not short of visual freakiness

He doesn't need to chant, chanting is a sign of being a magical n00b in the marvel universe. Force of will is more important, he does invoke certain mystical god's names when casting a spell based on them. Crimson Bands of Cyttorak, Hoary Hosts of Hoggarth, The Dread Flames of The Flatine, etc.

I didn't say they didn't. I'm saying they are going to have a harder time from now on and I hope they do it well. Arm off.

Considering he looks that good on a EW cover, where things usually are... iffy, I can't wait to see how he looks in the actual movie.
