in the end caved in and bought crypt of the necrodancer..hope it's good as it sounds (pun unintended)

Late to the party but it is as good if not better than it sounds. It's pretty well thought out and is a very unique mash up of Rouge-like and rhythm games.

Sound track is great too, and with custom soundtracks it gets even better.

Anyone here ever play Titan Souls?

Edit: Also I heard Gat out of Hell was bad but is it worth picking up at $6?

I'm a big fan of the series, but Gat out of Hell seems like a cheap re-skin of 4 but with less content. Unless you're willing to mod it to hell, I'd skip it.

odd, wonder how we are supposed to access store pages

I find that usually when typing the name of a game into search it'll come up then disappear as I add letters, if you delete a few to go back it'll come up and you can click it. Not sure if there's a better way, but that works for me.

titan souls - i played it a little bit cos shadow of the colossus + dark souls sounds intriguing but i wasn't too enamored by it. it's just too trial and error-y for my taste and i didn't particularly care for the controls. i might go back to it someday, but i wouldn't just instant recommend it

gat out of hell - it's not bad and $6 sounds like the right price for it if you haven't played sr4 but if u have then it's really got nothing to offer to you that you haven't seen except for very few cutscenes that you should just youtube anyways since it's not like you're gonna get to see the cutscenes played by the boss you made

it's got one really good cutscene tho, do watch it on youtube

Just going to repost this question

Any games with just fun gameplay like DmC, Platinum Games, Binary Domain etc on sale?

Ys Oath in Felghana and Ys Origin if you haven't played them yet.

Not exactly like the stuff you mentioned, but incredible action RPGs with some of the best boss fights and music you're gonna find in the genre.

I'm sitting here wondering what the hell Way of the Samurai 4 is and even with no fucking clue I still kinda wanna buy it. Looks insane from the screenshots.

Speaking of, Enhanced Steam doesn't support Safari, which is actually a good thing, because I know how much jshackles loves hate mail so I should type up something punctuation-free and badly worded for him.

Last I checked (admittedly, this was almost a year ago now) Safari still didn't support cross-domain XHR from content injected scripts, making Enhanced Steam a technical impossibility on the browser. This is because Steam is split between the steampowered.com and steamcommunity.com domains, and without cross domain requests it can't even do simple things like display your wallet balance in the header of steamcommunity sites, let alone more complicated things like determining the user's currency and country codes.

Next year is kind of exciting in that the latest versions of Enhanced Steam should be able to run on both Firefox and Edge with full functionality.

Thanks guys. I think I'm gonna skip them.

I already have every game in the SR series since I'm a huge fan of the series but I heard really bad things about it. Maybe I'll get it one day just to say I have it but I think I'll for right now.

Titan Souls sounds interesting but a little frustrating so I think I'll pass on it as well.

So I picked up dmc 3 from the sale and Im trying to start up it up w/ the style mod and nothing comes up. Start up the game and nothing happens. Is there anything that can solve this issue?

On windows 10 btw.

maybe you two should have a few hours patience until someone gets back home from work if u know what im saying

Make it three ;)

Any way to fix that? I know nothing about this sort of thing. I didn't try Kega but Devil May Cry 4 caused stuttering when I was in the snowy castle entrance.

Nope. Snow (and particle effects, basically random noise) have very low entropy and as such don't compress, requiring most probably more bandwidth than Steam Link can provide.
Valve may just have to tweak the encoding algorithm to increase quantization in scenes like that.

SteamDB now has minimum discount/rating filtering along with user tags. Packages now have ratings that are calculated by summing up positive/negative reviews of all apps in that package and then calculating Wilson score on that. There's also a highlighted deals that should hopefully show the same deals that are highlighted on Steam's storefront. Would like to hear what you think of these.

For example, here's a link that will filter to Anime games, that are rated 90% or higher, and discounted 60% or higher:
https://steamdb.info/sales/?min_discount=60&min_rating=90&tagid=4085

Well that sucks :(

Guess I'll be playing games like that on my monitor.

Thanks for the update :)

steam on my browser keeps logging me out even though i checked the box for keeping me logged in.

trying to do my discovery queue for today's three free cards but can't because i keep having to log back in.

That comic they're doing is starting to get good. Probably the first Valve comic I've been super interested in reading.

Well I think I'm done with the sale. Here's my haul:

  • Undertale
  • Shovel Knight
  • FF VII
  • MGS V: The Phantom Pain
  • Ori and the Blind Forrest
  • Grim Fandango Remastered
  • Vampire: The Masquerade-Bloodlines
  • Star Wars Battlefront 2

Make that "very" as far as I'm concerned. Probably my biggest indie disappointment of the year.

Yeah I read that you get one shot a lot in this game and you only have one arrow. That doesn't sound like a lot of fun to me. Maybe if it wasn't a one shot, I'd be more willing to give it a shot because the premise sounds interesting.

Wouldn't work any other way because the game is designed around enemies dying after one hit too and the spawning is fine, makes you act more careful instead of spamming because there's a real punishment for death. Only the last, secret boss deviates from that a little and it's the worst of them all.

This is happening to me as well. I also had my cart full of items and now it's empty and I've got to remember everything, lol.

I am so, so interested in Exanima, I just can't bring myself to pick it up without a discount. Maybe it'll go cheaper later in the week, but I doubt it :(
I'd love to hear about your experience with it.

Sorry for the late reply but wanted to get a few hours under my belt. I would hold off for a discount but when that time comes it is very much worth it. I spent about 90% just doing the arena mode to get familiar with the combat which i think is the best part of this game. It is slightly confusing at first and I might not be using an optimal strategy while I fight but it is working for me. An easy fight can still lead to your death if you are not careful or start to get overly aggressive, the engine makes for some pretty amazing kills and saves. I attacked with a 2 hander and missed but moved my mouse in a way that I did a spin and actually blocked the counter attack by the mob at the last second, made it feel like a sword fight from a movie.

Minus arena the main mode is unfinished but the difficulty is at a level where you will die a lot but you feel that it was a mistake by the user.

The engine and lack of scripted attacks and parries make each encounter unique even when fighting the same mob again.

Since searching on Steam seems to be completely fucked at the moment this is a really great feature.

they're ok if you lock them at 30fps

but in general they run like dog shit
