NeoGAF Anime of the Year 2015 - Voting Thread

Status
Not open for further replies.
I think it's fine as it is. Some people seem to don't want to vote for shows that are incomplete, like Gundam this year, but still Shirobako seems to do worse than last year, despite being incomplete then. On the other hand, while KLK's response was positive at first, its second half was a lot worse. It's a bit weird, as they're essentially have both of their parts judged but still it seems to work both beneficially and disadvantageous for them.
Well, the case with KLK is interesting because if it had aired in the same calendar year, it might have have been as high in the first year it was voted in.

I guess it's not a big issue because it's like like the top ten lists are going to be complete clones of each other going from year to year, but I think it'd be kind of strange if going forward, the list will always have the same show on both because of how anime airs.

I just don't see it as a problem if a quality show has 12-13 episodes in consecutive years and makes it in twice.

Yeah, I misunderstood something there.
There's part of me that thinks it's also strange not to vote for a complete "story".

But I would understand that people would want to put One Piece in their list I suppose.

I don't think the same anime appearing multiple times on the list throughout the years is problematic. HxH did that, but never too high. JoJo will likely do that perpetually and take HxH's spot.

Shirobako counts even though it started in Oct 2014? lol time to update my list, Food Wars can fuck right off~

1. Death Parade : I wouldn't say this was objectively the best, but it was my personal favorite. Very cool concept, interesting characters, intriguing environment, and the best OP of all time.
2. Shokugeki no Soma: Again, subjective pick. Great characters, animation, and story. The food reaction shots were just as good as they were bad. Got a bit over the top sometimes. Need more cooking animes.
3. WAN PUNCH MAN: Brilliant. So glad this exists. Deserves the win, gonna get it.
4. Fate Stay Night: UBW Great follow up to F/Zero. Hadn't gotten any of this story previously, super glad this was my first experience with it. i am the bone of my sword
5. Noragami: Aragato: This show started off really slow IMO in the first season, but this season took the show from being pretty decent, to honestly great. Can't wait for S3.
6. Parasyte: I wouldn't say this show was anything special, doesn't really stick with you, and I think the ending didn't really deliver. But it's pretty decent, and it's Madhouse, so I'm voting for it.

10. Aldnoah Zero Season 2; Reviled by most I really enjoyed this continuation of Aldnoah Zero. There was a marked change in tone as Slaine went from abused housewife to world conquering maniac but that was okay as Inaho went from genius kid to truly nutty pain driven cyborg. Mad as all hell, but a decent ride and with a definite ending.

Wait, what?
A/Z S2 had an ending summarizable in "Nothing Happened".
I'm really curious what you liked about it.

Wait, what?
A/Z S2 had an ending summarizable in "Nothing Happened".
I'm really curious what you liked about it.

Slaine was deposed and imprisoned, Inaho lives on but without his pseudo magical eye. It was a good way to end the series without turning Asseylum completely against Inaho, or Inaho being unable to fight. Plus at the end of the day, batshit insane as he might be, Slaine only did what he thought was right. It was more the note it hit than what it did for me, and that was enough.

Besides that....after Aldnoah Zero we start moving into MonMusu and Saekano territory (Out of what I've seen anyway).... :D

Well it's anime, so almost everything that is an adaptation never tells the complete story.
Theoretically KLK and Shirobako told complete stories though!

I don't think the same anime appearing multiple times on the list throughout the years is problematic. HxH did that, but never too high. JoJo will likely do that perpetually and take HxH's spot.
HxH is probably the only long running shounen in recent years to matter though. And no one cares about Gintama. Jojo seems fair because each 26 episode run is like an "arc" in the story at least.

Even if we didn't include unfinished shows, I feel that there's still stuff that just "cheats" on this. More episodic stuff like Jojo or even Monogatari can break in weird ways and still tell a complete story despite actually being incomplete. Others shows are a bit more streamlined I guess. We could have a category for sequels or one for shows that are are continuing next year, but I think we'll just over complicate everything. So far, it's like 1-2 shows that do that, so I don't really think that's a big problem. If there's demand for a change to the rules over this I guess we can work out something though

Stardust Crusaders was all one arc split across 50 episodes. Diamond is Unbreakable will most likely be the same.

Series

1. Yowamushi Pedal Grande Road; This mostly aired before 2015 but it finished in March so it counts. I loved the show and the characters and it came to a really satisfying ending that felt well-earned. I love it just slightly more than I love Haikyuu!, so it gets the top slot, but it's close.

2. Haikyuu!! 2; Still ongoing but man, I love this show. The animation looks great, it's got a fantastic cast of characters, it's adorable and heartwarming and I really can't think of a bad thing to say about it. I love the characters and I want to see them succeed.

3. My Love Story; Another adorable and heartwarming show but this one's a rom com. I like that it's not a classic "will they or won't they" type show, but is more about dealing with what happens after the two leads get together. Oh and the male lead is a giant muscle dude and the gags about his size and physical ability are funny but also actually affect how other people treat the couple and their relationship.

4. One Punch Man; I can't think of anything to say about this show that hasn't already been said by a million different people before me. It's funny, it's got some stunning fight sequences, the opening is great. It's a phenomenon for a reason, but it could use more female heroes, and the way the sole gay character is handled is horrible.

5. My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU TOO!; Great show with a dumb name. IIRC this show changed studios in between seasons but managed to come out even better than the first one. I'm having trouble putting into words what exactly it is that I like about this show, but I guess it boils down to this: I've seen a shitload of Japanese media taking place in high school but this show actually reminded me of what it felt like to be a high schooler.

6. Sound! Euphonium; Really well done underdog story about band club. I wish it would not do the queerbaiting thing though and instead just have a cute lesbian band couple.

7. Food Wars; It's kind of like shonen anime, Iron Chef, and reality cooking shows all rolled into one and I like the combination. The food itself is beautifully rendered, too. I don't like the fanservice or the sexual overtones of the reactions or how the female characters have chef's whites that are vacuuformed onto their bodies, etc. etc., and I'll call it out for these things, but I still enjoy the show.

8. Kuroko's Basketball 3rd Season; I like this one for a lot of the same reasons I like Yowamushi Pedal or Haikyuu!, or shonen fighting shows, but some of the reasoning for why these special moves work is so contrived it takes me out of the experience. They're basically basketball wizards; just don't think about it too hard.

9. Death Parade; Gorgeous looking, unique premise & setting, and it shares a lot of elements that I like about Persona, but is totally original.

10. Baby Steps 2; Similar to Haikyuu! in that it's sports anime that's pretty well grounded in reality. It's solid and there are some great matches that are fun to watch, but in the end I'm not as invested in it as I am in the shows higher on my list.

So basically I watched a shitload of sports anime this year despite being a person who does not care about sports at all. I still don't care about sports, but sports anime is like shonen fighting stuff with a sports veneer so I've come around on it.

Honorable Mentions in no particular order:

x. Rokka - Braves of the Six Flowers; Loved the main character of this one and his fighting style, also liked that the setting is a fantasy world not based on Western Europe. My one complaint would be that the answer to the mystery in the 2nd half, and also the answer to the next mystery that isn't actually shown but would logically proceed from the end of this season, is not hard to figure out.
x. Your Lie in April; I enjoyed this one but it's basically a manic pixie dreamgirl melodrama that ends up how you'd expect it to. Maybe that's a little reductive but it didn't hook me emotionally as much as I wanted it to. I still think it's worth a watch, though.
x. Ace of the Diamond 2nd Season; It's still the same Ace of the Diamond. I'm still watching it.
x. Gangsta; Both of the leads were interesting characters who have traits I can't recall ever seeing before in an anime or manga. I actually haven't finished watching this one yet and I know it ends before it really gets anywhere but what I like about it is that it features these underworld badass type characters that you see in lots of anime/manga, but it addresses how this kind of lifestyle affects people. The main characters are A. grown-ass adults and B. broken people and that's kind of a rare thing in anime.
x. JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders; It's JoJo, so I like it, but my interest has dropped off a lot because Jotaro is kinda boring and I don't understand why he's the most popular JoJo in Japan.
x. Parasyte -the maxim-; I read some of the manga waaaaay back in the '90s so this was a nice nostalgia trip, but it's also well-done, has an interesting premise, characters who evolve over the course of the show, and a definite ending. It works well as a self-contained show.
x. Aoharu x Machinegun; kind of a guilty pleasure anime in that I realize it's not that great in a more objective sense, but I just really like it anyway. I think maybe I just like the main character a lot.

It's impossible, but I almost hope that there's a case where there are like 10 really good 2-cour Fall season shows and the top ten lists for both of those years are identical. It'd just be funny to see.

Stardust Crusaders was all one arc split across 50 episodes. Diamond is Unbreakable will most likely be the same.
Oh are they just taking a break because they can't make all the episodes in time?
I'm going to assume that the split in the middle has a natural ending that at least acknowledges that they are going off the air in some small way.

I managed to forget Parasyte finished this year.

Yeah there is a natural split, their goal was to get to Egypt and when they do thats the split. In Egypt the Stand users also change from having Tarot names to having Egyptian God names.

JoJo is a weird case where the "arcs" are like completely different stories.

So you could argue that it's a "season 1" and a "season 2", even if they don't market it that way.

Will post a legitimate list in the next hour or so, but expect the same taste in anime that you've come to expect from me.

Yes that means a lot of sappy love shows and some awesome shows. :D

Edit: I made my post. Now tell me how bad my taste is. :P

Question.

Why reserve a post on a message board? I really don't mean to be a dick or call anyone out, but the only reason I can think of is to go into your post history so you don't forget about it. Even then, why not subscribe? Way easier and quicker, and it's more likely to be seen if it's the last post in a thread. A post on page 3 of 10 doesn't get traffic.

I just don't get it.

Such a case would be problematic, yeah. Good thing that OPM has a better chance on not being AOTY than this happening. lol

Yes, that's why I put my vote as "JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Stardust Crusaders: Battle in Egypt" since it was split like that and that's what aired this year
Well, they called it "Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders" and "Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders: Egypt Arc".
So they made it convenient for the purposes of this vote!

OPM will be #1. I believe.

If it's stopped airing, then its season ended. It's not rocket science, people.

So you can vote for Gundam 00 season one and two on seperate occasions, but not Iron-Blooded Orphans when the season is not even bloody finished yet.

Uhh, why can't you vote for Iron Blooded Orphans? It aired this year so it is eligible for voting. Pretty simple. I don't understand this complaint.

1. Garo: The Animation- Garo is not a perfect series, but it is the series that entertained me the most in 2015. Follow Leon as he grows from a whiny child into a horror hunter. The CGI probably turned a lot of people off, but trust me when I say it looks good in motion, and the majority of the series, save for some early episodes, is easy on the eyes. A badass soundtrack, and one fantastic leading lady makes Garo well worth your time.
tumblr_nd4vnunHbO1rbrys3o1_500.gif
2. Concrete Revolutio-A somewhat surprising pick to be honest, since I actually don't care that much about superheroes. Concrete Revolutio is very much a show about society, and the how morally grey the world has always been. Despite what the gif may show, Concrete Revolutio is more of a mystery than an action show. The show constantly jumps between the future and the past, slowly filling in blanks and revealing more about the main characters. Not for everyone, but perhaps the most interesting show of 2015, it's the one I found myself thinking on the most. Pondering over and over.

3. Death Parade-Everybody, put your hands up. Death Parade is a show about death, and coming to terms with your life. It's about judging how you should look at your life, and the lives of people around you. I think the story struggles a bit towards the end, but Death Parade is one of those rare shows I feel I could recommend to anyone. It's sad, it's funny, it's beautiful, it's thoughtful. It's one of the best shows of the year, despite some issues.

4. Blood Blockade Battlefront-Blood Blockade Battlefront is the show that probably had me smiling and laughing the most this year. While the cast and their backstory don't get elaborated on much, they are still very much enjoyable characters to watch. It helps that it's directed by the very talented Rie Matsumoto who clearly knows how to show characters moving in enjoyable ways.

5. Assassination Classroom-Consistently funny and fun, and full of likable kid characters. (How rare is that?)

6. Maria the Virgin Witch-Not nearly as perverted as the title might suggest, Maria is a show about finding your place in the world. It's also set Hundred Years' War and depicts the combat of the time in stark realistic detail.

7. Cross Ange- It's called Cross Ange, because Ange is frequently angry.

8. Shimoneta--Because it feeds the part of me that still giggles at dick jokes. Also Anna.

9. Overlord-Sometimes you wanna watch a show about a giant evil skeleton taking over the world. Yes, it is yet another trapped in an MMO story, but this one takes strides to set apart from the pack. Yeah, it still adheres to certain tropes, but you know what it doesn't adhere to? Standard mounts.

10. Kagewani-Who would have thought this tiny little horror show could come out and be so awesome. Kagewani deserves to be watched by everyone who has either a passing interest in horror, anime, or good monster design.

Honorable mentions
Yona of the Dawn
Prison School
Arslan Senki

Dishonorable mentions (Fuck these shows.)
Denpa Kyoushi
Chaos Dragon
Aldnoah.Zero (Fuck this one in particular.)

Shows

1. One Punch Man; Awesome blend of action and comedy. It somehow manages to be a satire shonen manga/anime while being a great action anime at the same time. Watching Saitama struggle with his boredom of being too strong is fascinating stuff. I can't talk about OPM without bringing up the animation. It's insane what the anime staff managed to do with a average budget. Nobody believed the show could live up to the manga's crazy art but they somehow did it and then some.

2. Blood Blockade Battlefront (Kekkai Sensen); I really loved this show. Everything about it oozes style. The fun cast of characters, the weird monster filled New York setting, the soundtrack. I loved everything about it. The director has a pretty distinctive style and it definitely shines through here. The English dub is also really great and I recommend it. This show has so much happening onscreen and not needing to read subtitles gave me a better experience.

3. Gintama; Still the funniest anime out there. Not much else to say. It's Gintama.

4. JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders; JoJo is ridiculous in the best way. Watching this week to week was such a joy just to see what weird thing it pulls off next. The monster of the week format really let them get creative with the stand battles.

5. Haikyuu!! Second Season; It's one of the best sport animes out there. It looks really good, has a great soundtrack, and all of the characters are great. Every single one of them are likable, even the rivals. It's really easy to cheer for them and you really want to see how each of them grows as players.

6. Shirobako; I was pretty interested in the process of making anime so this one was right up my alley. I'm sure plenty of it was prettied up a bit and made to look more fun than it actually is, but it still tried to convey how tough the industry is and I think I learned a lot from it. My only dislike is the designs for all the main characters. The lead and all her friends have the most generic looking anime designs, and they would all look the same if they didn't have rainbow colored hair to distinguish themselves. It's a pretty odd choice considering every other character in that show looks vastly different and are actually based on real people(?)

7. Food Wars (Shokugeki no Soma); Never thought anime cooking battles could be so intense until this show came along. Like Haikyuu, it's filled with likable characters that you just want to see improve and succeed. It also taught me that clothes explode after eating a really good meal.

8. Gatchaman Crowds Insight; Didn't think I'd get commentary about social networking and mob mentality from a show about power rangers fighting aliens. It's very weird and somehow works.

9. Death Parade; I was pretty impressed with the unique premise this show had. Two people who died have to be judged by playing in Death Games? Very interesting stuff. 12 episodes could have been way too long for this show to stay interesting, but they managed to keep it fresh with the different game ideas and variety of characters. A very emotional show.

10. The Heroic Legend of Arslan; A huge fantasy epic from the creator of Legend of the Galactic Heroes? Sign me up. Unfortunately the anime has some problems like some ugly ass CG and other rough animation, but the ambitious story and characters make it a worthwhile journey.

Honorable mentions

x. Ushio and Tora; Pure 90s shonen fun.
x. My Love Story!! (Ore Monogatari!!); Very sweet romance anime with no annoying drama. Was pretty much my feel good show.
x. Assassination Classroom; funny show about a class of kids trying to kill a earth destroying alien who is also their teacher.
x. Noragami Aragoto; pretty fun action show about a unknown god trying to make a name for himself. Yato pretty much makes this show for me. His antics are the best.
x. Rokka: Braves of the Six Flowers; This show looked super generic action-adventure when I first started it, and then it turn into a fucking awesome mystery-thriller. It's a shame it won't ever get another season.

Film/OVA

1. Space Battleship Yamato 2199: Odyssey of the Celestial Ark; sequel movie to the best anime of 2013. This could have easily been a worthless addition that adds nothing to the franchise, but instead this movie focuses on the best things about the series while fleshing out it's universe and setting up a (now confirmed) sequel series.

2. Little Witch Academia: The Enchanted Parade; They somehow managed the recapture the magic of the first one. A very fun lighthearted adventure.

I just don't get it.

I mean... If it bothers people that much I will change that post to something else and put up my list when it's done...

1. One Punch Man; A lot will be written about why this show is so good. I'll just say its the only opening I watched every single time. At first it was tough as hell and I started thinking that skipping one opening wasn't a big deal. But I didn't. In order to become a strong One Punch Man fan I didn't stop even when rewatching an episode.

2. Yowamushi Pedal Grande Road; Yowamushi is sports anime at its most generic and tropey and I love it. It was a long climb to reach the end of the inter-high but it had a fantastic finish this year. I'm probably the only person who prefers Yowamushi to Haikyuu and Kuroko.

3. World Trigger; All year this show cranked out episodes that would feel at home playing every Saturday morning on my game gear's TV tuner in the 90s. A nice, simple and straight forward battle shounen. 2015's anime comfort food for me.

4. Heavy Object; No other show moved from serious to absurd quite as quickly or seamlessly as this one. I was happy it took the same premise as Aldnoah (people fighting seemingly all powerful machines) but delivering it in a much better package.

5. Magic Kaito 1412; Magical heists!

6. Rokka - Braves of Six Flowers; I'll echo others who called Rokka one of the best surprises of the year. Its a slow burn but pays off in the final episode. It would be higher if not for the silly twist in the last minute of the last episode and blatant foreshadowing.

7. The Heroic Legend of Arslan; A great underdog story (as much as a prince can be an underdog) with a refreshingly large scope. Unfortunately the show ends just before the climax (IMO at least, I'm not familiar with the source material). I'm interested to check out the game next year.

8. Snow White with the Red Hair; A sweet romance / slice of life show with a great protagonist. I'm looking forward to season 2 since my skimming of wikipedia suggest the upcoming arc will be more interesting than the stuff so far.

9. Yona of the Dawn; Yona's journey from sheltered princess to rebel leader was engaging and well paced. I can't point to any particularly outstanding moment or character but the show is just so solid all around.

10. Noragami Aragoto; I like the show but thought this year was a step down from the first season (which I watched just before catching up on the second season). Still, the first arc of the season was good and had some great action moments.

Honorable Mentions:
X. Gate; A decent show with a cool premise plus Itami turned out to be a surprisingly fun character to follow.
X. Ushio & Tora; I wish the show clicked with me more then it did but Ushio & Tora still had the best bromance this side of Heavy Object.
X. Cross Ange; This could be here or it could be ranked 1st. Its the show all "guy at magic school fights with sword" and other dumb anime aspires to be.

1. One Punch Man
2. Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders Egypt Arc
3. Kuroko's Basketball
4. Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron Blooded Orphans

Not a big anime watcher tbh

So they made it convenient for the purposes of this vote!

(I'm curious, does the Japanese equivalent of ANN or whatever do a top ten of anime? How do they do it? lol)

I don't think there's really a Japanese equivalent of ANN. There's Internet polls and Newtype surveys and some yearly awards like the Japan Media Arts Awards though.

Same thinking I used for Garo.

Garo: Hono no Kokuin and Garo: Guren no Tsuki are not only called different things, but feature completely different creative staff and completely different settings, stories, and characters. They're only tied together by the loose trappings of the overall Garo franchise. So it wouldn't make sense to lump them together.

well shit i just realised most of the anime i watched this year were either older shows i have never seen or recent shows that finally got US releases like parasyte and KLK.

1. One Punch Man - ive been rreading the webcomic and manga for about 2 years now. i have been saying for years that a OPM anime by madhouse was my dream anime and they fucking delivered.

2. Stardust Crusaders--The original Stardust OVA was the second anime i ever saw so part 3 has a special place in my heart. honestly I feel like overall this series was better, but i still prefer the final boss fight in the old one

3. Fate UBW---actually i havent finished this one yet, a little over the halfway point, though i have cleared the VN, watched the original fate, and the movie, and zero. really enjoyned most of UBW, though i messed up expecting fate zero in a stay night skin. still i love that ufotable work and if anything this series is pure hype for the upcoming heavens feel movie.

5. Ninja Slayer---Enjoyable. Went in expecting kill la kill, got inferno cop instead. it was ok, some parts i found to be really funny, overall it ended up better than what i expected after seeing the first episode.

Honorable mention
rewatched eva, bebop, champloo, yu yu hakusho, TTGL, and trigun this year and i still think they are better than anything that has come out recently.

Movies.

Only watched 2 anime movies that came out this year
1. Dragonball Z: Ressurection F -- DBZ is my favorite series of all time. Like Battle of Gods i saw it in theaters dubbed in english, so there was that added factor of seeing DBZ on a big screen. I liked Ressurection better then BoG since it felt more like an action packed DBZ film whereas BoG felt like an old school DB movie(not a problem, i love DB) Only gripes with it were

- The ending was setup so perfectly to mirror goku/vegetavs frieza in the namek saga where vegeta had the big fight, got knocked out, and goku came in ftw. in this movie, goku fought frieza, got KO'd, and vegeta then comes in, reveales his new SSJ form, and then gets jobbed the fuck out by plot no jutsu.

-Goku didnt need a blueper saiyan form, they could have just turned him SSJ and said that because of god form he was much more powerful now. same for vegeta. and bummed that frieza's new form was just a golden purple recolor.

2. Boruto the MOovie --- this one really surprised me. Ive been reading NAruto since the first chapter released in the US. I used to be a massive fan but kind of lost interest once they got to the shinobi world war arc. as for the anime i dropped it hard when it turned into filler arc nightmare genjutsu. Seeing this movie in theaters gave me the same nostalgic feeling i had when i saw DBZ BoG last year. Overall i enjoyed the new kids in Boruto and i was glad they didnt make boruto a naruto clone. though my favorite part of the movie was seeing all the old leaf shinobi as fully grown adults with their own kids. I love how naruto turned out to be a shittyy parent lol. ALso I loved how they handled sasuke in this movie, with him kind of being the wise traveling ninja as oposed to his old 3edgy5u arcs from later shippuden. also i cant stress how amazing the animation was for this movie. the final fight got to near TTGL tier with all kinds of awsome shit happening every 0.5 seconds.

1. Kyoukai no Rinne; Easily the best show of the year for me. The characters are great, and I love the comedy. Looking forward to the second season.
2. Himouto! Umaru-chan; Pretty funny show. Ebina-chan and Umaru are pretty cute. The other girls not so much.
3. Soukyuu no Fafner: Exodus; Not sure if I should specify a season as both aired this year, but I quite enjoyed the show. Some of the action was pretty intense.
4. Lance N' Masques; Very funny show. I really enjoy absurd comedy like this for some reason.
5. One Punch Man; I'm sure this will be a popular show for the year. This is kind of the show I wish the new Dragon Ball was. The action scenes are very well done, and it's pretty funny.
6. Seiken Tsukai no World Break; 思い...出した!
7. Working!!!; Not as good as the first two seasons, and I don't think it adapted the source material as well. It felt like they should've been able to conclude the series in this third season, instead of doing the OVA. But still, Inami and Yamada are as cute as ever.
8. Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Comedy wa Machigatteiru. Zoku; Yukino and Haruno almost ruin the show because they are such terrible characters, but it's still plenty enjoyable thanks to Yuigahama, Iroha, and Komachi.
9. Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works; I found the pacing of the story and the direction of a lot of the fights to be pretty terrible, but still overall an enjoyable experience. The highs are quite high.

Is Animator Expo a thing of it's own or do we need to pick individual shorts?

Also look up all the Animator Expo shorts guys, they're quick and interesting to watch!

Shows

1. Shirobako;
2. Sound! Euphonium;
3. My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU 2;
4. Non Non Biyori Repeat;
5. Owarimonogatari;

Look at what people are voting for, do you really think unfinished shows are going to make up a large amount of the Top 10?
Who cares what ends up where?

Either have the "premiere" episode airing during the eligibility period count or have it count when the "season finale" has aired. Not have shows like Shirobako be eligible to vote in the year 2014 and 2015. That's just stupid.

I'm not angry, I'm just curious as to why people do it. I feel like I'm missing something.

No, I see what you mean about the discussion part of the thread. I didn't think about it that way. I am almost done with the list but it's gonna take another 20 or so minutes. So I will change that post to something else. :)
