Before the sale ends, I'm going to make a last-ditch effort attempt to attract some of you to buy and try this little gem that's close to out of Early Access:

Lakeview Cabin Collection

An episodic horror-comedy game series with no traditional story, you're thrown in with four characters into a variety of 80s horror movie scenarios and do what you want. In an open-world area with a ton of things to mess around with and danger, kill yourself, kill your friends, kill the killer, eat, get high, ride a bike, whatever. Fun to mess around with, and also fun to try to work out how to accomplish and win the episodes and get different endings, plus a lot of secrets. I finally decided to play it right before the sale began, and loved it. Three episodes currently out, the gif below is just from the first episode.

looks like I'll get through this sale with only getting Watch Dogs Complete with that Aussie Store error...I can wait for the next big sale for anything else

How is rocket league if I will have zero friends who also play it? I might be able to convince my brother to buy it but even then we have a hard time arranging game time together. How is 1v1 in this or at least how is just playing by myself on random teams? Still great then?

It's still great with randoms.

It's great no matter how you play it. Even jumping into freeplay to mess around can be a lot of fun. Although you won't have any issues playing with random teams.

okay guys, i cna only choose one

i have enough steam cents to buy either a full set of the normal holday cards...

or i can buy bad rats

It's one of my surprises of the year, if anyone here enjoys giantbomb they did a great quick look which is what sold me originally.
Quick Look

Hot episode 2 sneak peak

About to pull the trigger on this. Anything else worth adding?
Westerado and Pathologic Classic are grand.
Sunless Sea is great though, one of my favorites of the year. Reminded me a bit of Ice Pick Lodge game actually in that you have very difficult mechanics tied to great writing although IPL are a lot more out there and mechanically ambitious.

it's not for me, pal

Craft the badge so you can have ribbons like the rest of us. You'll be the prettiest io of them all.

------

Finished Hook earlier today.

Minimal puzzle game. Short. 50 levels, with the first 40~ being a breeze, really. Last 10 amp up the "difficulty" more significantly. It isn't very good at that, imo. The ramp up is incredibly uneven. I use the quotes because there's really nothing difficult about it if you just look at the circuits carefully, really, and in the last 10 you're given 3 lives instead of starting the puzzle over again on first screw up. They just get convoluted after a while.

At USD$0.89 I can't fault it, though.

It's in the IndieGala Friday bundle with 11 other games for $2.49 if anyone wants it

Currently deciding on one last game, and have narrowed it down to either The Talos Principle or The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky. It's not like grabbing both would be a problem, I am just trying to balance spending when I know I can't get around to both right now with my insane backlog.

Both games are right up my alley, and I know both are great choices. However, I am primarily looking for the one that has the best story. The gameplay in both look great to me, and I am honestly down to play either of the two genres. If it does make a difference though, I tend to lean a bit more towards JRPGs, as they are my absolute favourite.

Any help?

Trails wins this, it's not even a contest and if JRPGs are your favourite genre, I don't see how you can skip Trails, backlog or no, as it is one of the best.

What are the best shmups on steam right now?

Darius is great, but pricy.

There are tons of fantastic shmups on STEAM. It would probably be easier to tell you what NOT to get.

As for bang for you buck, Danmaku Unlimited 2 and Crimson Clover like Blu(e). The Alltynex bundle with Kamui isn't a bad deal either.

talking about Darius, how hard is it? I have it but still haven't played it.
keeping in mind that I got so bad at them, I'm not sure why I'm even considering playing it or asking that, of course it's hard, sigh.

Sold. Do you know if the second continued to improve upon the first story-wise or is it weaker?

So, around Sequence 5 of Ass Creed: Unity, the DLC they gave everyone kicks in. You apparently can't back out of this and go back to the main story.

WTF were they thinking?
