On the fence for Elite Dangerous, how is it these days? Is it a good "on the side MMO" to have, or will it get really boring after a week?

So is Dragon's Dogma for $22.50 on GMG the cheapest we see that game until like the summer sale? Or will some other sites like Nuuvem undercut that even further?

What do you guys think?

Nuuvem's a total crap shoot these days.

They need to
1. Get the game
2. Not region lock it
3. Not paypal lock it

Which is exceedingly rare. I wouldn't base any purchase or preorder decisions based on them.

Cheapest offer for the time being yes.
Game releases in 2 weeks' time and that's a great price of entry IMO.
Crom appreciates the great power of fire against wolves

I also will throw out there for those who take the dip into Dragon's Dogma or Resident Evil Zero, Capcom has a pretty solid recent history with PC ports, and MT Framework (the engime both games run on) is well optimized for PC.

There are some developers to be weary of the quality of their PC ports, but I wouldn't list Capcom among them.

Best of luck waiting on that sales price, Resident Evil HD didn't even go down in price this sale.

Just finished Final Fantasy VI, fantastic game with a great soundtrack. Although searching for
Deathgaze
was a pain, I think I had to fight him close to 10 times...

Before the sale ends, I'm going to make a last-ditch effort attempt to attract some of you to buy and try this little gem that's close to out of Early Access:

Lakeview Cabin Collection

An episodic horror-comedy game series with no traditional story, you're thrown in with four characters into a variety of 80s horror movie scenarios and do what you want. In an open-world area with a ton of things to mess around with and danger, kill yourself, kill your friends, kill the killer, eat, get high, ride a bike, whatever. Fun to mess around with, and also fun to try to work out how to accomplish and win the episodes and get different endings, plus a lot of secrets. I finally decided to play it right before the sale began, and loved it. Three episodes currently out, the gif below is just from the first episode.

I watched the Giant Bomb quick look. It's far too open box for me. Looks fun for the Minecraft crowd, though.

Got a $50 gift card from my brother-in-law!

Was thinking of Fallout 4, but ... man, those reviews are disappointing. It's fallen down to my "$20 or less" list.

So!

Here's what I've got in my cart so far:

Any other must-haves in the under-$10 range?

Have you played The Binding Of Issac?

If not then purchase ASAP :-D

dying light is a bit too difficult for how brainless it is

i'm playing it while i listen to giantbomb goty deliberations but i keep dying over and over again

i think i'm gonna drop all the sidequest stuff and just do main story

it's just so fucking repetitive already

Yeah, I wish I didn't buy it. I don't like it.

It worked! Looks very unique. Bought it tonight, gonna try it out tomorrow.

Does Dying Light stutters on anyone else PC? I got it 3 months ago and refund it since I keep getting stutters and huge fps drops. Even on the lowest setting.

I was getting a wee bit of texture pop-in earlier but no stuttering. Might be one of those HDD-versus-SSD things.

I guess I'll rebuy it and try again and put it on my SSD this time. It seems like a fun game, but its just so dumb how I can run Witcher 3 at near max with no problem yet this 2014 game was giving me anything from 30-60 fps with stutters on medium.

On a side note, I just watched the new Sherlock special episode. Man Telltale should make a Sherlock episodic game. I'd buy that.

Would anyone be interested in swapping up to 5 of these for darkest dungeon (currently $10ish)?

Spelunky
Banished
Company of Heroes 2 (plus a bunch of other expansion/dlc stuff)
Payday 2 (plus a couple dlcs? that came in the bundle)
Sanctuary RPG
Valkyria Chronicles
Legend of Grimrock 2

The only ones I'm slightly considering playing myself are banished and grimrock 2 but with dark souls 2 +dlc, witcher 3, battlefront, rocket league and my new found addiction subnautica I doubt I'll have time for them (at least not this year).

i dunno if i should get kerbal or not :T

more to the point, i've no idea if i'll have any time to play it

It's definitely the kind of game that requires you set aside some time to enjoy it fully. The iterative process of building a rocket, watching it blow up or spin out of control, refining the parts that don't work, and then finally getting it into orbit or what have you is really the core of the game, and it's a process that can take multiple hours. Of course you could accomplish that over a few days but personally I don't think it's as fulfilling or satisfying as doing it one afternoon.

I don't mean to dissuade you from buying it as the game is GREAT and really a one of a kind experience, but rather give you an idea of what kind of commitment it is. I've put 40 hours into it and the very last thing I did was land on the Mun for the first time. In between that was lots of failed experiments, various orbits around Kerbin and the Mun, flinging Kerbals into unrecoverable solar orbits, and more failed experiments. Instant gratification is not the name of this game. However, the delayed gratification is SUPERB.

I just noticed CS:GO is closing in on nearly 1 million reviews. That is so fucking crazy wow. Dota only has half of that and its F2P.

Ah finally back to the land of the living... How was everyone's New Years Eve? Did the new year start out ok?

Seems I missed a bunch, Half-Life 3 hype that came and went. Humble Monthly that I'm actually glad I missed, since owned the interesting games.

...What? Bicycles? I don't recall any bicycles...

The double popcicles from Snowdin. Keep buying them till they're coming out of your ears

To be clear you'll have more money than you'll know what to do with and since your health will never exceed 20 they're very efficient giving you 2 11HP heals per item. Buy them all

PC's 2016 Lineup is Incredible

imagine if that was a thread.

After seeing all those multiplatform AAAs and indies that will release on PC next year I think you've got some evidence to back this up with :P

And those damn good mid-budget games+XCOM 2

Oh, yeah, now I remember them. Thanks for the advice!
