damn you people, i was making a joke, lol, because some people on the gaming side can't seem to try games for themselves unless of hype or some dude or their favorite company telling them a game is awesome.

I mean I don't quite get why that is soo bad? Id much rather get some thoughts on a game from someone like Toma or other steamgaffers than buy a game completely blind.

I've bought a few indies, looking to make one larger purchase.

Can anyone comment on some of the biggest changes between The Witcher 2 and 3? I know it's open world but didn't really follow the game closely, as I dropped the Witcher 2 about 20 hours in. I liked many aspects of it but it just kept losing my interest when I had to pause and complete smaller side quests, which I would think would increase if anything in an open world.

Hey Dusk! I asked you this yesterday but I assume you missed my question. I wonder how good Clickteam Fusion is.

Oh, I did miss it! Well, the earlier versions of the studios products I actually had messed around with a lot when I was younger. Clickteam Fusion 2.5 is basically what it says, "Drag and Drop game development", it has a lot of plug-ins you can use and the thing I always liked about it most was its 'event' programming. You can either straight-up code things, globally event things, set events. It's kind of the system they've been evolving over the years with things like Games Factory, Multimedia Fusion, etc.

Specializes in 2D games (it technically can do 3D, but I would recommend another engine that'd be much easier to do it in), I personally like it and how verstile you can make everything.

Here's a few games made with the engine:

It is an easier engine to get into than some, but not the easiest, but it can have a lot of results and if you dig into it can allow for a lot more 'advanced' coding and laying out. It specializes in 2D games and is pretty versatile though. It's also a visual editor, which I like. It codes with a few languages, and has a good playtest engine, and is pretty functional and can port easily to a lot of platforms.

There isn't really anything wrong with that, but this way you will miss all games nobody have played or talk much about, and as for me that mostly what I play and like, so there is that.

edited: and you don't have to go in blind, there are descriptions of games, trailers, there are devs that you know make games you like and so on.

I'm assuming those are playable characters ?
?.?

I remember Felghana being platform-jumping heavy on some bosses, and probably only parts I fear playing with a keyboard.

Yes, they are the 3 playable characters in the game. Hugo is a wizard so you might want to play with the mouse to aim better. The other 2 are melee so the keyboard is fine.
There is some platforming, but I didn't have any issues.
Also, I've played all Ys excepting VI and VII and damn, Origin has the hardest bosses.

On the flip-side i find there's so many games out there that i have found at least 8-9 games that i hadn't heard of or had dismissed and went for a second look due to GAF posts and other places. I play what i like but i like see what other people are playing and enjoying too.

it's not so much about people introducing them of games they've never heard of

but gaming side has the tendency that they don't care about certain games unless some authority (usually publishers, magazines, websites) mention it, then a lot of the times they come back and post shit like "I don't know why people like these games!1111"

You know what? Play the game you're genuinely interested in, not because some guy says it's good.

edit: and also what Arthea said

Woof, idling cards sucks, even with IdleMaster. I now have 7 hours on Ori and the Blind Forest, none of which is me actually playing, and I still have one lousy friggin card left to drop. 80 more cards after that. I don't think I'll get them all before the sale is over.

You could've beat the GOTY and got all your cards too, now look what you've done.

I tend to smash my spacebar or whatever jump key with these 3D games.
So keyboard is never safe. :O

Good time to jump back with sale anyway. I'll try it.

Sure, but you will miss trophies, online (?) and some other cool features. And nobody knows how good it will be on an emulator.

Trophies are eh(and the platinum on Demon Souls is damn terrible). Online is a possibility but I wouldn't hold out for it. But then again, it's not like you're going to play much online Demon Souls on a PS3 on 2015 lol.
"nobody knows how good it will be on a emulator"? Lel, it's going to be better than the original version. Better performance, better resolution. It's not a matter of "how good it will be", it's purely a matter of time.

i've had this dead island epidemic beta gift in my inventory forever now. i'm pretty sure the game is dead too. any way to get rid of this thing?

I still had one in my inventory too; I added it to my account on a whim thinking I'd just hide it from there, but it seems to have disappeared after adding it. So you might want to give that a go.

Ok, what the fuck.

I'm using the Xbox One Elite pad and for whatever reason, some games are completely screwed. It's as if my RT is on full auto.

Tried TiTS, the camera keeps on rotating. Tried Planet Diver, it keeps on scrolling through the top menu.

But it works fine in other games, in Heavy Bullet, it isn't shooting on its own, same with Revolution Ace.

Any ideas?

edit - nm, it's a game by game basis. I saw derExperte post in the community thread for Planet Divers, he's got the same problem. Lame.

I'm actually a big fan of how you earn cards now by going through the discovery queue. It's making me check out games I've never even heard of before.

Bought Gemcraft for $2 based on it's looks and overwhelmingly positive reviews, so hopefully I enjoy it.

Would anyone be up for a Dying Light 4 pack? Ive got a US paypal, all we'd need would be 2 more with paypal and 1 person willing to buy/host the pack.

I'm eyeing "Intrusion 2" and "Tembo the Badass Elephant" right now. They're both cheap, but I'll only have time for one over this next year. Thoughts? Which do you prefer?

Looks like it did a lot of many great games. I really liked Freedom Planet, one of my favourite games. I probably will buy it before the sale ends
