Rhapsodies of Vana'diel is not in the Ultimate Edition on Steam. Because it released last year as the "final expansion/story" for FF11. You have to buy it off the Square-Enidos store if you want that expansion/are going to play FF11.

I hate when publishers do that, seriously if you make ultimate all including edition that implies that you add what you released later into it, or just call it in some other way. I wish I knew it, sigh

well they release ultimate version all the time but a new expansion comes out after each of them :P

that's beyond mean, IDK even know how to call it, haven't played FF11 since days it launched and now I rebuy it and they do this to me?! Never again! I'll research before buying FF14 ultimate collection, I really will.

I see, can see why so many appreciate it then whereas it's not doing much for me, I've not had any experiences like that
tbh while i enjoyed the game and i admire how accurately it recreated that moment in time of my life, it didn't resonate that much with me either

Well, just to note: FF14 on Steam whichever version you get will not get later expansions either. If you get FF14+Heavensward right now, any future expansion will not be in that "Ultimate Edition" due to the way Steam's subscription system works and publishers not grandfathering later-content in to GotY/"ultimate" editions for MMOs.

Dark Forces 1 & 2 have Doom-esque levels, so yeah. You have a map and you may need it; there's none of this forced checkpoint / linear progression stuff that's infested modern shooters.

Keeping in mind their age, the entire Dark Forces/Jedi Knight series is great.

Are they hard? I managed to beat Doom and Doom 2, but I often used a guide because I couldn't figure out secret switches needed to proceed.

On normal, there will be times in both where you need to conserve health and ammo, but overall it's not that hard; confusing, more than anything.

Tomb Raider for only $3 is pretty tempting. I see a lot of people playing it right now, anyone tried the multiplayer recently? Is it still populated?

I will give them a try, thanks. I don't wanna be stucked into a level looking for a key hidden behind a wall, I think I have no patience anymore :S

So all in all I would say the move to community for during the sale was a good one. Even if no one comes over, everyone was helping each other out a lot.

I just wished people would post in OTs about games instead of just going to Steam thread. A lot of smaller titles or late PC release OTs are starved for discussion because many only visit that thread.

Hear hear.

It had horrible netcode with hacking russians last time I played it. Don't bother.

Well, that was weird. I bought it as a gift, but the only thing that shows up is The White March. That explains the problem with buying the bundle, and now I need to go try my luck with Steam Support.

Wow, sorry about that. Steam is acting a little weird lately, isn't it?

Could you link the store page of the pack you bought? I can't find it in the Steam store for some reason.

Finished RE Revelations. Considering some of the setpieces late game
(like that huge boss with the tentacles)
, it's pretty impressive this came out on the 3DS.

And I can't let go of Mirrormoon. I just found an observatory and now I want to find the anomaly

For Revelations, if you take the dip into Raid Mode, know it is very addicting, has online co-op, and the last level in Raid Mode is a treat.

Also, while I liked Revelations, I wish more areas had the atmosphere the final chapter does, but more expanded on the concept.

They are old-school so they do have the design styles of that era. There are mazes and switches but i don't find them any harder than other games and the rest of the experience makes up for the level or two, the sewers come to mind, where i get a bit annoyed... that's what noclip is for :)

Yeah the last level was pretty cool. And even though the final boss was as formulaic as they come, the fight was fun and he took quite the beating.

I'm going to try raid mode later. It's a lot like Mercenaries probably? Wasted so much time on that in RE4, remember unlocking the handcannon or whatever those final rewards were.

Raid is like a mixture of Mercenaries and Monster Hunter. You have an RPG-like level for each character, and each one has seperate stats. You go into a dungeon like level with chained doors and defeat groups of enemies to get keys, you get ranked on how many enemies you defeat, how many hits you take, and so on, and at the end of the stage you get loot. Loot can be new weapons, custom parts to attach to weapons, and money you can use in a store.

As Raid Mode goes on, the stages get more and more complex with multiple routes, optional areas, bosses, etc. Enemies can have stats to make them more intimidating, such as being huge, tiny, speed increase, defense increase, attack increase, etc. There are three difficulty levels per stage, and each one changes the level dramatically instead of just being harder stats. There's 20 normal levels, but also a 21st level, known as Ghost Ship, which is a huge open world obstacle course version if the whole Revelations ship with multiple ending points, branching paths, and a hidden boss exclusive to the stage in the deepest part.

It all can be played online co-op again, and though the first three stages are auper simple, it gets pretty addicting as the stages get tougher, bigger, branching, and with interesting twists.

Oh hell, I bought TITS, I don't know when I'm gonna play it, but I sure hope it's as good as you hype inducing bastards made it out to be.

Played a bit of Lords of the Fallen.

That game is slow, seriously slow. I played DS1+2 as a mage, but Lords of the Fallen feels like I am playing a game that has suspended animations almost everywhere. DS1+2 felt perfect.
Any tips on whether there is a good armor/weapon combination that wont require me to wait 3 seconds to hit someone.

Yup.

Endless Legend is still shitting on Civ.

It's one of those games that I know I badly want, but I know I will just play constantly and won't make any progress on my backlog.

How do the KOTOR games hold up and play on windows 10?

They both hold up and play well, KOTOR I needs a bit more finesse to set up widescreen with a cracked exe.

KOTOR II recently got a patched with achievements, widescreen support, Linux/Mac versions, and Steam Workshop support. Good place to start.

Then I put these here too:

One day left... and I played catch up for a lot of stuff I had not picked up yet. I have SO MANY games to play now lol... dunno where to start.

  • The Evil Within
  • Never Alone
  • Wolfenstein: The New Order
  • Lords of the Fallen
  • Y's I and II Chronicles
  • Gemcraft - Chasing Shadows
  • Leo's Fortune
  • Undertale
  • Midle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor GOTY Edition
  • The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

Also picked up a bunch of GAF gift games too for later use. All in all not a bad sale considering I did not plan to buy much and got all that for just over $100. Plus a Steam Link to enjoy it all on.

i need one last <5$ recommendation

i'm thinking maybe crypt of the necrodancer, idk

It cost a fraction of a fraction (of a fraction) of Witcher 3 budget to develop/translate TitS.
It should cost a fraction of a fraction of Witcher 3's price. IMNSHO.
why should development cost should factor in the price?

if the game is good and the amount and quality of the content is good enough that you feel like the pricepoint is warranted then that's it for me

i dunno why we as players should care how much it cost to produce the game

Haven't bought anything yet, though been playing SOMA quite a bit, and I'm liking it. I'm starting to think I gravitate towards story-driven games, but can't think of one that's not too short or boring gameplay-wise.
I'm sure on pulling the trigger on Undertale, and am eyeing The Talos Principle, FF Type-0, Endless Legend, or Dynasty Warriors 8. too many games.

In the mood for some shoot 'em ups. Have Ikaruga in my cart for 5 dollars.

Any other game I should be on the look out for?

Edit:

Already bought Mushihimesama when it came out.

Does DOTA stuff really go for that much? I know the Team Fortress 2 Pip-boy sells for around a buck.

I sold the Type-0 Dota stuff for between $6-$7...early sellers got more out of it (and people that held onto theirs for a while and sold later did too I think)

it depends on what people are willing to pay but considering how many people probably bought Fallout 4 there's gonna be a lot of those up at once so the prices won't stay high for long

Thank you so much for pointing this out! :) I played through Raid on the chasm setlist with a friend thinking the only difference with trench was harder to kill enemies. Glad the game decided to not explain any of that at all! Makes so much more sense why Ghost Ship is recommended level 50!
