Decided to count my final haul, now that I'm done this sale, and have ended up buying something like 53 pieces of DLC/Packs/Passes and 146 games. Now I'll go back to completing Final Fantasy VII, Resident Evil HD, Life Is Strange and Undertale. I actually think I'm having my best time on PC, since building one almost two years ago. And I'm happy that I am focusing on a select few games at a time, so that I can hopefully complete a few this year.

Crimzon Clover and Danmaku Unlimited 2

Thanks for the recommendation, both of them look awesome and for the price I can't say no.

Are there any non-bullet hell shoot em ups I should be aware of?

Something like Gradius, R-Type, Astebreed, etc?

I bought Force Unleashed 2, asked a refund: the game simply doesn't work on Win10.
I tried to:

-set WinXP SP3 compatibility
-change resolution in the .ini
-unplug my controller

I have simply this red looking messed up screen and the game crashes during the intro.

I read it's a common problem, but at this point Disney should put a big banner "This game doesn't work on Windows 10" or, much better, simply patch the game :S

One day left... and I played catch up for a lot of stuff I had not picked up yet. I have SO MANY games to play now lol... dunno where to start.

  • The Evil Within
  • Never Alone
  • Wolfenstein: The New Order
  • Lords of the Fallen
  • Y's I and II Chronicles
  • Gemcraft - Chasing Shadows
  • Leo's Fortune
  • Undertale
  • Midle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor GOTY Edition
  • The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

Also picked up a bunch of GAF gift games too for later use. All in all not a bad sale considering I did not plan to buy much and got all that for just over $100. Plus a Steam Link to enjoy it all on.

Start with Wolfenstein. It's engaging and you will get through it in what feels like no time at all because it's just that fun (great feel to the gunplay and equally fun going stealthy and stabbing everyone in the neck).

It's one of those games that I know I badly want, but I know I will just play constantly and won't make any progress on my backlog.

Yeah.

Imagine Civ but with:

Quests
Way more complicated combat
More flexibility in how your cities are built
Faction traits
Custom factions
Your units are all created by you based on a base of four per faction
Friendly NPC factions add to your unit pool plus give you their traits
"Barbarians" are actually a threat
A ridiculous tech tree
Hero Units with their own tech tree
Every unit has its own tech tree

Yeah.

Are the queues better than Civ's, too? Because that's a big dislike I have for all the Civ titles. You can queue production but not tech. Seems like a simple thing to implement.

Jamestown maybe? Jets 'n Guns Gold if you can stomach euroshmups.

Yeah you can queue tech in EL.

And I'm surprised The Witness is actually coming out in January. Wonder what the price will be.

Well shit. Thanks for the heads up.

I have 5,61€ in my Steam wallet. I am choosing between Her Story, Grim Fandango Remastered, KOTOR II and 12 is Better Than 6. Pretty close to grab Her Story, is that worth it? Or is there something else i should consider?

I hear Undertale's endgame is tough with the latency from Steam Link.

I absolutely don't agree that EL is better than Civ (any Civ), different yes, better? no, but I'm too lazy to write in detail why and I remember already doing it before. just so you know that there is a different opinion.

Wowzer. Alien is incredibly atmospheric. So much attention to detail and the sound, the sound maaaan!
I never played horror games and my heart got pounding heavily and I froze just staring at the screen when music spiked. The metallic screeching and whatnot is so tense!
The toughest part, I played 2,5hrs and haven't even seen any enemy yet! :o
has anyone done it? I just googled it but this doesnt work (nothing pops up when you type search) http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=591307844
Wow that is the weirdest thing. It worked.

EL's questing system sets it apart in my opinion. The rest of the game is a natural evolution of Civ style gameplay. But I could certainly see prefering Civ, especially since you can basically play any civ in the game in any style, while EL more relegates your play style based on your race choice.

Basically, anyone burned out on Civ but who loves the genre should give EL a try. But EL isn't going to convert anyone to the genre who doesn't like Civ and probably isn't as good of an entry point to the genre.

I left Hacknet for the summer sale, together with Rebel Galaxy and Technobabylon, It wasn't an easy decision but I simply wouldn't be playing those until then anyway.

oh Necrodancer too.

I'm fresh out of angst-y pictures for Real Pic January. You'll have to settle for the 'beard'.

My apologizes

wait a second, why are so young? That's not fair!

Thanks, bought! Now time to live out all my Angelina Jolie fantasies.

It has a tutorial to start, a fairly simple user interface. Uses simple code, too, really. Obviously some knowledge of Linux would make it easier, but it's totally playable without that. Hope you enjoy it!

Does anyone have any must-have recommendations before it is nearly over?

I took a hiatus from PC gaming and am getting back into it.

I bought:
Subnautica
Undertale
Papers Please

How is Rust, The Vanishing of Ethan Carter, or Ark Survival Evolved? I was thinking of these titles. I am playing a lot of H1Z1 so I thought Rust might not be worth it.

I still have 3 to play through and 4 gas sounded too silly. Have you played the previous entries? How does it hold up to older titles?

It is sillier than the others in some aspects, but it's also a bit more refined gameplay wise. Still, most of the silliness depends on the story path that you are playing (with the exception of some unfortunate names and the age and actions of the British Ambassador)

You don't need to play the earlier games for story related reasons.

got kerbal, invisible inc, and shadowrun.

i have darkest dungeon and titan souls in my cart.. not sure if i wanna pull the trigger yet though
