If you platinum'd the game (or got everything back on GC) you appreciate REmake runs even more. I watched Carcinogens Resi runs like a maniac after getting 100% on PS4. So good.

It is flash being terrible. Chrome has a built in version of flash that runs slightly better.

Is the player doing something to force this?

Yeah you mash the run button. The faster you mash the quicker you slide. I don't think it's as easy as it sounds.

It's quicker than the regular stair animation. If I remember quickly you just tap the stick in the direction you want to go really fast. Haven't played REmake like that in a bit though so I may be wrong on the details.

Mashing the forward button breaks the stair animation and causes a slide which is faster

It's dumb that Capcom don't give you the option to skip them when the PC versions of the original trilogy let you.

Also, I do love Carcinogen's runs. He's such an expert on all things Resident Evil it's insane. Never stops explaining what's going on and what he's doing, very informative runs.
