I wouldn't be surprised if SMM was inspired by the popularity of ROM hack levels and Kaizo in general. Ultra hard Mario hacks are popular all over the world and well known.

They basically built an official Kaizo making game lol

I spend a fuck load of time watchign Witwix, Panga, Trihex play levels and I can say without doubt the best streams are when they dedicate time to beating a challenging level, the numbers show it aswell.

I single handedly want a WIIU for MM, but im poor ;_;
