Stranger of Sword City has been rated for PC and Vita by ESRB

Hopefully I can afford the Vita LE with it's insane shipping pricing and sell the game to buy the PC version

As far as I know Steam doesn't require ESRB ratings, so why do companies keep leaking their games like this?

Anyway, will get on Vita and double dip for PC on sale. Physical copy + suspend/resume wins for me.

Why is that? Whats the difference of playing lets say Tales of on PS4 or PC besides one offers better graphics?

?? it's a first person dungeon crawler. Born on the PC.

Some people just prefer to play on consoles, please don't start this :/
You can enjoy the game on PC without converting others
The PC version will allow to change the art style like Vita ver. ... Right?

Hard to say. The existing JP PC versions do not afaik.

What is this about changing the art style?

The Vita and Xbox one versions at least will let you switch between two styles

I prefer the original style and I think I will buy it on PC only if it's possible to switch.

Yo I keep asking and the weebs I know won't answer, what's the deal in putting gloss on knees, shoulders and breasts like in the second pic?

I do believe you can switch to the original art in the PC ver. and even if you can't we can always mod that in.

I'd like to know this too.

In a lot of comic books, characters that are supposed to have particularly "tight" bodies will be depicted as having a constant high-gloss on their exposed skin, even when they're supposed to be completely dry. This could be to emphasize their smooth skin, or to draw more attention to a woman's bosom or legs. If done well, it will give the impression of youthful elasticity and sturdiness. If overdone, it might lead to characters looking more like inflatable dolls, which might or might not be the desired effect.

So? The initial statement is still nonsensical.
No more nonsensical than preferring to drive an old ass car over a new one that's objectively better in every way. You lot are far too defensive when it comes to that very sentence. It's just a personal fucking preference, not a slight against PC gaming.

I know Vita games need to pander to a particular audience to exist in Japan, but damn. If anything, we need more games with the kind of art from the original.

The "anime" artstyle was intentionally made for the west and for the Xbox One. The original artstyle was used in all releases in Japan before that

I'm not joking

For you.
Yes it should at least include original. The new art style option is what's not known at this point.

The statement is "I prefer x". Let's not blow it out of proportion.

But it's not a statement of preference at all. Like, imagine people going to a multiplatform game thread and say "I'm picking up the PS4 version. Playing it on Xbox One would be too weird".

Anyhow: is there a release date announced for the Vita version? I assume the PC version will release at the same time since they have been rated at the same time.

Okay, I'm beyond lost lol, I didn't expect this.
On a positive note, I really like the original art style.

Xbox and Vita both release March 22nd in NA.
Vita is March 25th in EU

Since this is a NISA release and they haven't talke about any of their plans besides Disgaea, I wouldnt be so sure about a simultaneous release. The rating could just be a IFI situation.

All of the beds in my house are exactly the same. Logically speaking, I'd feel the same sleeping in all of them but in actuality I don't and prefer mine just because it 'feels' right. It's not something you can explain in words but it is essentialy an arbitrary personal preference.

Doesn't make any sense. I thought Japanese are the ones who are obsessed with all things animu and moe, while western players prefer more realistic and mature design.

WOW. This isn't super jarring or anything! And I was thinking that the artstyle was completely redone, but it seems backgrounds and enemies are the same while the party members are the ones changed? This sticks out like a sore thumb.

Maybe they went with a 'safe bet' on how the English speaking world assumes Japanese media looks like

(It's hilarious because kind-of the opposite happened with Star Ocean with anime -> 3D renders and the new set of portraits were horrendous. Localization can never win this one)
