Yep, I played all of Guacamelee with a keyboard. It worked even for combo chicken and hard mode bosses.

Yeah, they seem so disconnected. This is annoying as I really enjoy Shovel Knight and I would love to hear the devs speak more about their thoughts on it and the speedrun.

The impressive thing is that Plague Knight isn't the last DLC. YachtClub is still going to do full campaigns for Spectre Knight and King Knight.

If those DLCs are as thoughtful, unique, and content packed as Plague Knight's campaign, Shovel Knight will go down as one of the best Mega Man style games ever made.

It's the latter. The reason is because it's necessary for the speed run timer or something like that
