As someone who has no goat in this race, since I'm not a citizen of the US, I don't see why anyone in their right mind will vote for Bernie. Some of the things that he said have been downright insane. I mean..... I know you guys seem to like your crazy candidates but I thought that when the real election happens, you actually will vote for non-insane candidates.

But I guess I was wrong?

And those insane things are? I don't even care to know...you had your 5 seconds where you could have said what they are. Show don't tell.

Well, look at this thread. There are people who seriously consider him as a candidate? He looks like a buffoon to me. Some of the things he said are downright insane. Why would anyone vote for him?

All misdirection and no actual argument.

If you write something like that you should probably say more clear what you are implying and include a few sources?

What has he said that is insane? I don't get it.

I expect a higher young voters turnout this election. I think this election has taught us that many people are getting tired of the establishment. You have a lot more people watching these debates than is normal, Trump or not. People are tuning in. People are taking an interest. Not saying it will be enough for a Sander's win or anything, but I do think young folks will be more inclined to get out there this time.

I definitely hope there is a younger turn out, but somehow I doubt tweeting or facebook posting actually turns into going out to vote. 2008 was the highest young turn out and that was by masterful young Obama who campaigned for change and hope. He didn't get the same young turn out in 2012. I don't see anyone getting the young voters to go out this time on the same level Obama did in 2008.

Hillary destroying Bernie among minorities? Good thing elections are won by majority.

A joke, right? Please tell me this is a joke. For the love of god, this has to be a joke...

In case it's not which of the following candidates won a majority of the white vote in their campaigns:

Obama or Romney 2012?
Romney, who lost the election.
Obama or McCain 2008?
McCain, who lost the election.
Hillary or Obama 2008?
Hillary, who lost the election.
Clinton or Dole 1996?
Dole, who lost the election
.
Clinton or Bush 1992?
Bush, who lost the election.

It's probably a bad idea to post "he's insane!" without actually post why you think he's insane, and just assuming we all get it. Most of us here are very supportive of Sanders.

Is this like some meta statement?

Erasure, you're literally a monster. Fucking over the future of my family's children because you can't get what you want and being cavalier as all fuck about it.

Literally, and by that I mean the original definition, a monster.

So you'd rather your mother potentially lose some of her rights due to her sexuality than have Hilary (who you're right, she has changed with the times to be supportive of LGBT couples) win.

ok...

If you're a one issue voter...yeah, that's a great philosophy to have. I am not however. Hillary's GLBT rights stance at the moment may be in fact the only thing I agree with her on. That quite simply is not enough for me to vote for someone.

My mom has not had GLBT rights for years and years thanks to Hillary Clinton and her buddies who limit the debate to live in a better world. Why should I like the oppressor now that they've given me food? They starved me for years. If this is your attitude towards life...to forgive everyone and anyone then you should forgive me for not voting for Hillary Clinton.

It's the only way you'll ever take his candidate seriously. At least that has been argued in this thread. In reality, it pushes you further away from his candidate. Instead of presenting reasons for you to look at his candidate in a positive light, this tactic creates an adversarial scenario that often creates more negative connotations

Wait, then what do you agree with Bernie on? They both share many of the same policy positions.

I already had Erasure put me on ignore in an earlier thread because I challenged him on the crap he continuously spews from his mouth.

No that was Hillary Clinton who fucked over the GLBT community. She's the monster.

I think I'd need some citations for the insanity on this one.

Wait, then what do you agree with Bernie on? They both share many of the same policy positions.

Ya, but, if Bernie says them then they're words from our most noble and liberal of saviors. As it has been, so shall it Bernie. If Hillary says it, then she's a neo-liberal, corporate shrill, who kills anyone who doesn't immediately worship at her feet.

Oh, and something something oligarchy.

Great, another thread where a handful of Bernie nuts try their best to ruin Sanders' campaign/image for everyone else.

What a mess.

I'm just really, really sorry that this is how you think the world works and that the solution is to fold up your arms and walk away like a child if you don't get exactly what you want even to the detriment of your loved ones.

No that was Hillary Clinton who fucked over the GLBT community. She's the monster.

They both have done awful things to the LGBT community for their own political expedience, but Hillary was never a state legislator in New York to vote on gay marriage and the same for Bernie. Neither had to sign the bill into law.

In fact, Hillary has only ever been a federal politician (which has dealt with few LGBT bills during her tenure as Senator) and had one of the most stellar and amazing records of LGBT rights abroad while Secretary of State.

So yeah, vocally, they have both taken advantage of LGBT people in their own way (Hillary being against gay marriage until relatively recently, Sanders being against a Burlington non-discrimination bill and then telling the Vermont legislature they shouldn't take up a gay marriage bill). Yet in their actions, they're both similar, except that Hillary probably has done more things for gay rights than Bernie has during her time as Secretary of State.

That's not necessarily the fault of Bernie, just that there aren't that many chances to promote gay rights at the federal level recently. He also doesn't really seem as interested in social issues as economic issues.

Good. Ignore me. No wait...I'll ignore you. You are out of touch with reality son. I've done more for the GLBT community than Hillary has.

There are legitimate things to criticize Hillary on, but this is not 2008, and given her tenure as SoS, this is absurdly false.

Honestly, I still contend that many of Bernie's supporters are his worst enemy. This "burn the house down, since I may not get what I want" mentality is frightening.

I think the scarier part is that some will intentionally vote for Trump instead of not voting. It boggles my mind since Bernie is like the fucking anti-Trump politically.

For those paying attention at home:

Congress
Congress
Congress
Both
Congress.

Speaking of Congress, I do like the evasion his supporters spout when someone broaches them on how is Bernie cultivating a congressional base that can support his policies and how is he going to help those down ticket races so he has democrats that can vote his policies in.

This

Was the Paul's days ever this bad?

I'm sure they were bad for their times. This seems to have a different type of vibe. Not only is there the intellectual superiority angle, but there's diet racism in many parts of it

Do you think the president is a king?

If it is Bernie, then yes. The poster believes that.

Man..this thread..

You knew what it would become.

Luckily, since you agree with Bernie, then you're about 90% in agreement with Hillary.

Her website says she's for "affordable" (not sure what you mean universal -- single payer? shirley, you can't be serious) healthcare and greater taxes on the wealthy. I'm not sure what sane foreign policy entails.

You guys are being a bit hard on Erasure for his list. The post he responded to was literally only asking what positions he supported that aligned with Bernie. There was nothing about how he was supposed to achieve them.

If only democrats would turn out for mid term elections. Then we might actually see some real improvements. Honestly I prefer Bernie by a large margin, but I'd be happy with Hillary as well. Pretty much the most important thing either of them will do is elect new supreme court justices. The rest is Gravy until we control congress.
