my gOD!!

The practice catcher for today is terrible. I only managed to get 2 badges. How is anybody supposed to be able to get them off the hooks?

It's way easier than it looks. when two hooks are next to each other facing opposite directions like the practice catcher today, just stop the catcher directly in the middle of them. it'll claws down and rotate the hangers off the stump they are on. Two for one.

I managed to get 8 practice badges, & one of them was a red badge, plus I had 10, so total, I got 4 free plays today.

You can get the two right ones by having the edges of the claw unhook both of them at once.

I'm thinking of compiling a list of his videos to make it more easily searchable for English speakers. I don't believe he tries to collect everything, but at the very least his videos offer some great tips. I'm amazed by the Animal Crossing machine that he cleaned out with just the L+R trick.

So *that's* why I see mentions of getting 4-5 free plays per day as being possible! A red badge is only worth two plays in Europe, not three. :(

Indeed, it seems the red badges vary by region. NA it's 3, EU it's 2. Anybody know how many they give in Japan?

Hmm, looking at some videos the NA Badge Arcade seems to be more generous than the Japanese one in giving out super bonuses.

Ugh, what an oversight.
Well, like he said, if you stick them in a folder they are out of the way, so it's not a big deal. You don't have to have two on the main screen at the same time.

What I don't like is icons that take up more than one square. And there's no way to tell if they will or not.

Another problem with the launcher icons is even if you throw them off in the corner you still will technically use them if you ever launch anything from notifications. So when you hit the home button after you're done you'll find yourself in a folder at the very right of your screen. I ended up just throwing the folder right next to the launcher badges.

You mean Mega badges? I'm pretty sure if you hit X to see what badges you don't have on the panel then you'll see which are mega. They're indicated by the big red arrows as opposed to the small yellow ones. They'll take up 2+ squares.

If I remember correctly US and Japan have red badges that give 3 free plays and blue badges that give 1 free play. In EU we only have red badges that give 2 free plays.

5 for 1€ in EU.

Yep, or £0.90 for 5 in the UK. Either way, significantly pricier than the US. :(

How often do others here actually get 'winning' badges from the dummy catcher - and which region are you in? Even with a good run of catches, I'd say that I'm only getting one perhaps once in three days or so, at best.

I just noticed that the bunny gets sad when you refuse to buy more plays. He doesn't do that in the US version (which is a sharp contrast to the Streetpass Bunny, who did get sad when you didn't buy a game).

Not really. The UK price includes a 20 percent VAT, the US price does not.

$1.28 USD- $0.22 = $1.06, roughly. States with higher sales tax pay that much or more, and it's not included with prices.

Protip for today's US practice catcher: Aim for the rightmost badge. If you do it correctly, the left crane arm will push the two leftmost badges into the left hole. Or, if you're an unlucky bastard like me, the leftmost badge will get stuck instead of falling through. -_-

Today's board was tough for me.

Question - can you get multiple practice sessions? I'm wondering if you can play 4 of the 5 practice plays and then quit out of the game. Would that work?

Yeah, I guess I meant Mega badges. I didn't know you could hit X to see which ones were bigger than one square. I'll have to try that.

if you fail to get ANY practice badges, you can try again.

You get another 5 tries?

Hm, I think I'll abuse this if my first attempt doesn't get me any badges.

Yes, Bunny feels bad and lets you go again from scratch.

Hmmm, so after 2 flop first tries on today's machine, I tried this. Not only it gives you 5 more tries (he will ask you if you want them, lol), but it will leave the badges were you left them for these new tries. So I can see some strategy to go along with this, trying to prepare the badges on purpose for an easier run.

I already have so many badges. Only like 180 but it still feels like a lot, and it takes a while to scroll through them.

But I still keep logging on almost every day. It's fun, I guess.

This week, in Japan it's celebrating Zelda's 30th anniversary. Only 5 new panels but a load of returning ones

Yay, finally got an Ashley badge. Still seems odd to me we've had to wait so long in the EU to get one of her. They must not think she's a thing to people here :/

Rhythm Heaven badges for a single day. A single day. Unless I somehow missed them yesterday. I got the wrestling interviewer set all besides the far left with 2 free plays at least. I fucking hated that practice stage. Bowser hates me too.

Yeah it stinks that they were only available for a short period of time, but I think all of them save for the interviewer set were available previously as well. They'll be back again, I'm sure. :)

So I manged to complete the Nikki panel where she's in the middle of a valley with two free plays.

Then I went to the practice machine and it's the same panel. Except I totally messed up and didn't get any practice badges on my first and second go.

Oh well.

I just downloaded this, it's a cute concept and idea but I find it somewhat sickening how much the game hounds you to buy plays like every time you do anything it pesters you to buy plays...

And I was really put off by the way they tried to justify the cost of plays saying hey these things don't make themselves and it funds the development of more of these sprites... That's have been used and used through out the years...

As I said cute concept but I don't know just the way they present it really puts me off.

Today's practice machine: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hDqCFRjpQxI

With a little luck you can clear out the right side in one move. The left side is trickier, and might take 2-3 moves. The guy who does the videos had particularly awful luck, lol.

Hey, they gotta pay someone to test the machines to ensure they're as unfair as possible. In all seriousness, there is occasionally some new art, usually involving Isabelle or Pokemon.

3 badges in two days after a couple of really bad days coming up empty due to personal fails. Can't complain.

The practice catchers have been touch lately. Not a lot of opportunities for multiple badges falling and the dinner plate ones tonight would just randomly fall off the catcher because of their shape.

My rule for this was to spend around a penny per badge and at 450 badges I've spent around $5. But this week has been the stingiest yet.

Also doesn't help that the Mario Bros panels I have left to clear usually need more than one try to get the last badge I need.
